My uncle, John Kraus the head recording engineer of Capitol records, was Stan's favorite & only recording engineer. I got the chance to go a couple of times to the studio. I'd see my uncle draped in the tapes he was recording. He wouldn't go home for days just being busy with Stan. I was very fortunate. My uncle took me thru the different stages of making a record. Wonderful memories!
Stan also liked to work with my friend, the late Richie Peterson from New York. Richie worked on a lot of commercials for Stan and he had a lot of stories-- a lot of which I wish I had recorded.
Thank you very much for sharing this. (I still have my Capitol 45's of "Rock Island Line" and "The Banana Boat Song", where Freberg and Leeds teemed up.)
Hey Dennis, I really enjoyed this! I'm going to send it to my mom. She is a Stan Freberg fan too. Funny thing, I was just on here the other day looking at Stan Freberg tracks. LOL
