@@bluemilk4909 meh ur prolly not familiar with the TV we asians produce, after like one episode the person that got buried comes alive. And honestly that's the most believable plot twist
GURLLL you have to post one of the ICONIC quotes or lines from the show plss, where she comes back from the dead and reveals her true identity, " just like gold I am indestructible"
For those who don’t know, the woman laughing was meant to be kind of a comedic villain. She’s very evil but she’s also funny. That’s why you’d hate and love her at the same time. 🤣 This show was so entertaining!
What's up with this video and self-righteous, tweeting, cancelling, emoji-using, Nietzsche grave turning, success seeking, shallow, malding, coping, seething, hypocritical, daddy issue conneisseurs?
A perfect mix of Asian and Spanish drama techniques all culminated in Filipino teleseryes I mean the camera angles remind me of those from Indian dramas 😭
I remember going to Vietnam and has this along many other Filipino seryes shown dubbed in Vietnamese with a theme of badass women i think there was a Show with Camile Pratts and Lovi Poe as well … How cool was that ..
2 dimensional? Girl, she has more nuance than that. Product of a toxic and abusive household, subject to generational trauma, has a husband that she loves-ish but he doesn’t reciprocate, all while maintaining their well-maintained image and their performative activism? Yeah, she has nuanced layers to her character, at least for like, the first 40 episodes, as far as I remember.
@@theopollind8024 okay I gotta be honest I never watch these telenovelas so I did not know these nuances so I apologize djkakdkkd 😭😭 please take my words with a grain of salt cause I meant "2 dimensional" in a loving manner because these characters are always so campy and fun to watch
Filipino novelas look like the novelas Brazilian TV networks would buy to air during afternoons for the stay at home divas (they're usually Mexican or Turkish shows, but they're exactly like this 😅)
@@billy8027 probably just for you Americans because here in our country alot of people who is born in old generations actually accept LGBTQ. So basically not all are homophobics.
Just a bit of context, I think the "Don't, don't" part is a joke on how dramatic Filipino funerals can get. There's always someone wailing "Don't go" or "Take me with you" and then fainting and then they have to stop lowering the casket LOL. Every now and then they joke about it in shows and movies, usually the wailer gets tossed into the hole, as she requested.
An average filipino show: - Introduction - The family tree more confusing than the Kardashians/Jenners - The OTHER Woman - That one chatterbox gay - The slap - Family Drama - The mom finds out about the other woman - The mom freaks out then cries - ✨️MORE DRAMA✨️ - Suddenly something bad happens to the Other woman - And in the end the extra mom and the cheater husband get back together ✨️THE END✨️ (I'm a filipino so I know this :3)
The most iconic filipino series is "pangako sayo". Every African grandma and aunty knows it. It was so huge back home in my country and other African countries. It's a shame the actors never visited any of the countries tho. I read that Jericho Rosales almost visited Ghana but idk what happened.
@@nunyabiznes33 come on madam Claudia Buenavista is a meme Lord 😂😂😂 the English dubbed version is the one they aired in English African countries. So yes it was very big and popular followed by "sanay wala nang wakas" (love is timeless)
@@TaeThei English dubbed filipino shows are still aired in my country. There's channels dedicated to them. That's where I watched the show in this video
@@witherspoonliving5165 Hello!! I’m not sure, I watched it on cable here ;^; but I’m sure there are streaming sites for Asian dramas. I’ll reply again if I find one 😌
Stan Twitter just discovered this Meanwhile I've had to secondhand watch some of the most terrifyingly dramatic shit from my Filipina mother's iPad on full volume
You guys’ writers are sadistic 😭 cause whenever I’m expecting a hard earned conflict resolution BOOM half the cast is killed off and the main characters just have to learn to move on without closure (im watching pankago s’ayo and timeless simultaneously lol)
*EVERY FILIPINO SHOWS IN A NUTSHELL*: people randomly getting kidnapped by a white van, people getting guns outta nowhere, *expect every show* to have romance, people getting burried alive and escaping the next day, and that one scene that we will never forget… THE *TOY GUN SCENE* 🔫
@🌸•Rylee•🌸 Wildflower. If my memory serves me correctly, it was everywhere when it first aired back in like 2016? I can't recall when but all that should be mentioned was that the show was great.
Those two actors playing the bad guy parts with the fake crying are just so phenomenal. I would watch shows like this whenever my parents had them on, and even though i never understood what was going on because i’m the first generation to be born in the US in my family, i always appreciated the energy of every actor. I will just say this, even some the B COMIC RELIEF CHARACTERS sell emotional scenes just as well as the main leads.
Ok but this show was so iconic back in the day it had it’s cringiest moments and over the top acting 😂. It’s basically a revenge story with x100 exaggeration and absurdity 🤣. I would say it’s a good show tho despite all that.
Yeah the absurdity of the show actually makes it a lot better. Y'know that in real life, no one would ever dare to turn off the lights at a party then immediately appear at the grand staircase and say "Just like gold, I'm indestructible." but Ivy Aguas definitely pull that off, I love it.
Sia after she snuck into Beyonce's funeral, laughing angrily yet crying at all the day's she had been stuck in the beysement at the hand's of this popular singer, and not feeling bad one bit, realizing that she was the only one laughing, as everyone else was crying, and that a bunch of people there (he Beehive), were ready to come and attack her:
Our humor is more of me making fun of you then you making fun of me(I know it sounds toxic). It won't be funny if one of us won't respond with another insult
This show was so iconic and will continue to be iconic. That scene where Ivy choked Emilia, the scene where Ivy smashed a cake unto Emilia's face, THE BLACK WEDDING DRESS, and the line "Just like gold, I am indestructible! ". I can't believe this show was 5 years ago.
Ngl, I thought this was Malay drama lol I thought she said "Dot, Dot Dot!(as in shes mourning over someone named Dot) Dont stop, go on~" i gotta start watching tagalog series now😭
Filipino shows and movies tend to be very melodramatic. Filipinos are less stoic than other asian cultures. They do emotionally charged things such as openly singing love songs on the public karaoke in the mall and encourage "love duos" between an actor and actress so they are paired as love interests in multiple movies. Another example is shown here where they tend to be very extra in their expression of emotions.
@@ceci--lia tbh i get even the actors being against it because they say it just keeps them constrained to one person instead of having chemistry with other actors for other movies that require a different take idk
the movies back then, even american ones are always like this , dramatic , slaps , hair pulling , cheating and etc , but as time passes by they evolved , but filipino movies did not , and when the time where episodes-dramas began , the Philippine cinema also influenced the Philippine television , if you look at movies back then like ina kapatid anak 1970 Malvarosa 1950s anak dalita 1950s Tunay na ina 1930s , it is always like these , but comparing it to the present , filipino shows and movies are more better back then
philippine cinema is in a different calibre back then. It focuses on realism. It was well filmed with great cinematography and well versed acting lines. Philipine soap operas are just not at par with it. Revenge is the most favored theme. Nowadays dramas will wrap up in months. But before it will take several years of cliff hangers.
not Filipino but this seems mild, Im Indian and once I saw a daily soap where the mc girl fainted, somehow fell into a suitcase while fainting, and the suitcase was closed by servants who didn't realise a whole grown person was literally inside (??), and were gonna ship the suitcase but thankfully the hero realised that the girl was inside cause her dress was coming out of the suitcase and helped her in time. Then got angry at her for fainting. into a suitcase. edit - found the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NyQ7EHN2kwc.html
This show was such a huge hit, my coworkers used to watch it everyday and they deadass talk about the latest episode in the office. I didn't watch it myself but I know what's happening in it because they always talk about it nonstop, reenacting the scenes and stuff, lmao. Almost everyone started using Ivy and Lily as their phone names, too. The last Filipino drama that I followed through that I can remember was Kadenang Ginto, which is equally as iconic as Wild Flower, lol.
Just for context, this scene and her crawling out of the grave is so iconic, the Woman inside was the Main protagonist 'Ivy' while 'Emilia' the laughing woman is the villain along with the old man.
