It's sad to be witnessing Magic jumping the shark like this. At best this is greedy over saturation -- dumping. They're in a race to bottom, versus themselves. I've never seen anything like it. Notably my teenager just stopped playing entirely this year. What Magic used to be about, for decades, it just isn't any more.

your post is a lot of words to say so very little. what is it that you dislike about magic's direction? why are you choosing this set to tap out? is it the art direction? if so, why not during streets of new capenna or neo kamigawa, which had literal tommy guns and origami mechs? or do you mean the glut of products? in which case, yes, I agree. though the number of standard sets hasn't increased really(I think it's gone up like one a year), the number of supplemental products is absurd and insane. there's a chart that shows year-by-year the ridiculous growth and yes, around throne of eldraine was when things got real stupid. but yeah, instead of pointless grousing, try to actually explain why you're whining.

What was Magic about for decades that is isn't anymore? Can you give some specific examples? Did they jump the shark in 1994 when they printed Arabian Nights? Did they jump the shark when Presence of the Master had Albert Einstein in the art? Did they jump the shark when Planar Chaos came out? What about Unglued? Innistrad? Zendikar? Mirrodin?
