I foresee the most common use of omenpath journey is "found one land and failed to find the rest" and it's probably too expensive for that.

Search for UP TO 5 lands.. So yeah - you don't even have to fail searching for the rest - just search for just one - if you wan't. Tutor + drop is kind of OK for 4 mana I - guess.. Or you could search for 5 get a randomish land and if it's removed you're up in value a bit - maybe.. thinning the lands out of your deck when you already have 4 might be an upside.

Esoteric Duplicator feels like it should be breakable. Obviously if you have more than one in play it can get really silly, but there has to be a way to do it with just one copy.

Molten Duplication is literally the activated ability on Saheeli, Sun's Brilliance. Saheeli can do this every turn, so whatever busted plays this card can do are already possible.

I guess you can blink collectors cage for multiple activations. Since it’s an ETB and not a cast trigger. Also, other coven triggers are during battle, you can do this whenever.

Pest Control says nonland permanent, so not working on Restless Anchorage as you said... Pretty strong and needed card nonetheless. Also : Am I the only one who wants to play Loot ? I don't think it's broken or anything, but I think in the right deck it has potential as a value machine. With Skrelv to protect it, that's already 2 "draws" per turn.

2:37 up to. Exile one, boom instant tutor for any land to the battlefield. Exile two, I dunno cabal coffers and urborg. You have the combo end of next turn if you can untap with it. Might be good.

I was thinking T1, Arboreal Grazer, drop a land. Then sac Grazer to that Mh3 Force of Cultivate, you have 4 mana guaranteed on turn 2. Turn 2 this then get 1 of each Urzatron. You have end of turn 4 complete Tron and four other lands considering you don't play any lands from hand on turn 3 or 4.

Pest control can be hype, a two mana sweeper (even a super-limited one.) is nice. With Cycling too.

Omenpath Journey works best in decks that abuse taking another turn cards. My extra turn decks tend to double up the extra turns anyways so getting all the lands played before an opponent can do anything about it isn’t a far stretch.

You don't use Omenpath Journey to get 5 cards you want. You use it to pick out 5 lands that enter the battlefield tapped, filtering them out of your draws and, if they don't get removed, partially negating the down side of lands that enter tapped. Worst case scenario the 5 worst lands in your deck are no longer in your deck. Best case scenario, you get 5 lands and accelerate for 5 turns with no down side.

Molten Duplication on a Vein Ripper seems pretty strong… swing in for 6 (or 12 more likely) plus a drain 4 at end step.

The saving grace on "Omenpath Journey" is that it says "Up to 5 land card" So at worse you can search up a single land and get it into play that turn guaranteed. Slower than archdruid's charm and i still think card bad, but not the worst play pattern either if you need a specific land in play.

You're definitely not alone in potentially liking a mini set. Aftermath was bad because the cards largely sucked, cutting down on bulk and giving us rares/mythics that are inappropriate for limited would have been awesome.

I actually like Omenpath Journey. It’s slow but it’s a lot of value when it fully does its thing. As someone who likes land ramp but doesn’t run a lot of basics, this is works for me.

Memory Vessel goes into my Prosper deck :) But Legion Extruder can easly go to Anvil decks.

So the chances are very slim but unless I'm wrong, in limited you could potentially open Mindslaver and Esoteric Duplicator and if you can get the two on the battlefield you can infinitely take control of your opponent's turn

It should be noted that we didn't hate THE IDEA OF Aftermath. A lot of Standard players liked the idea of a mini set over the Summer. The thing we hated was the execution. A full-priced booster with only 5 cards is a degenerate cash-grab. THAT'S what we hated.

Simulacrum Synthesizer + Alluren Combo? Just make a bunch of karn-structs and drop a Thopter Engineer and you're off to the races. Probably unnecessary, but could be fun.

The duplication token, what happens to the token if you swirling mist it during your main? Does it miss the sacrifice at end of turn line?

Do you mean for Molten Duplication? Yes, if the token is phased out then you won't sacrifice it at the beginning of the next end step.

Memory Jar makes each player discard all those card on the next end step (therefore your end step) so your opponents dont get to use the cards unless they have mana open and are instants. Extremely different from memory vessel that forces both players to get the value no matter what.

Memory Jar also uses _draw_ and _discard,_ with all the effects that can be ties to those. Not to mention, the red requirement and unplayed cards from the exiled 7 staying in exile (rather than filling up the yard), are not nothing.

I feel like loot isn't that great. I've seen so many cards that are 3 mana card advantage every turn (hurkyl, akal pakal, reality chip), but they end up being too expensive / clunky / just eat a removal spell

Pest Control does not hit lands. Generally when you animate your manland they have the suffix "x is still a land" I think stalking stones was the only guyland that did not have that.
