At the risk of sounding like a creepy middle aged woman (I’m not creepy!) I am so impressed with Andrew! The way he thinks and expresses himself, his kindness and enthusiasm for life and learning make him such an attractive person. Plus he’s so cute!! I hope that you guys stay on RU-vid long enough for us to see the lucky young people who will pair up with your amazing children.

Everyone in this family is truly authentic, all know thyself, all are taught to learn & grow their full potential, & they do!!! I love them all, but as a writer too & thought pondering intellectual balanced with a big heart too... Andrew is kindred to me in that. I get what you mean, you're simply saying he's growing up to become a fine young well educated good man. Andrew's going places in his future with his writing. Elijah's photography & cinematography skills he's now using for his travel youtube channel. I know it will prosper. Daniel will be an amazing chef, his creativity, I see a steller inner strength ninja chi if you will within him, paired with a true gentle heart..., Esther so sweet so kind & giving..I feel she will be given back with being highly saught after & highly recommended to book for wedding & prom special occassion elegant hairdos, styles, Asher a future building contractor & specialty welder, & the rest of this awrsome clan who are the younger of the family & still honing their crafts, interests, skill sets...up & coming is Peter next, they will flourish too... with STELLAR PARENTS THAT MIKE/MEGAN ARE. They GET IT how to home school is teaching your children HOW TO LEARN & LEARN WHAT YOU LOVE, (after learning the basics we all need to know to be well rounded level educated in society). Public school doesnt hone specialty skills. Mike & Megan abled to gave their kids the truest gift to find & grow their true potentials & true interests & to later thrive from them in life. Megan is an amazing mother instrumental to getting this accomplished for her family!!! And it is one of the best gifts parents can give as well as the gift to see the world vs sit in front of a tv. And, they're giving Eve her best life possible, she's full of laughter & joy. It makes me tear up a little. I LOVE this family so much. All of them are my kind of people. A family any soul would be blessed to land in such a good nest to be born into. Coming from foster care myself, in my youth, its even more special to watch. Their christian faith so sacred & dear to them too, living by it truly. I love them even more for that too. Tgey care for their childrens salvation. I raised my children nearly the same as Mike & Megan's ideals. But on a smaller budget. But big heart which matters the most. Just as their biggest achievement as parents are aside the fact they can afford to travel with their children too. Thats simply the icing on the cake. ❤ I feel so blessed to share their journey & the examples they show the world of what a true American Christian family is & should be. 😊 🕊✨️⚜️👑💎🤟

I'm a big CS Lewis fan, too. Greatness doesn't seem to come from grand gestures but from ordinary people moving forward in ordinary ways that somehow get noticed. It's important to improve our own corners of the world and our own selves in our own families. That is what makes greatness.

I found myself becoming very emotional at Andrew’s observations on creating grand works. I think my emotions come from a realisation that these ordinary people become conduits to a divine source that requires of them to bring fourth this work into the world.

Years ago when we visited The Kilnes, I was carrying my very heavy and sleeping 2 year old. The tour guide told me to just put the baby in Mr. Lewis’s bed since the door to the house was locked anyway. So that is a bit of story in our family. Like Andrew, I was struck by the ordinariness of CS Lewis’s home. Mike oblivious about the Emma movie…I mean, the man was probably at Home Depot 9 of 10 times Eve was watching that movie. And then the part about returning to the Cotswolds for the dessert. 🤣. Loved it!!!

When you live in such a beautiful country you become used to it and often forget just how gorgeous it is. Thank you for reminding me. I am fortunate enough to live completely surrounded in history. Mainly Naval history with HMS Victory, the Mary Rose etc but also a lot of stunning historic places. I worked in Gunwharf Quays when it was being developed from an old ammunition base and then moved across the water (to my hometown of Gosport- Gods Port) to Royal Clarence Yard which made all of the bread etc for the war ships and I loved listening to the archaeologists stories when they told us and showed us what they had found during the excavations and searching in the old historic buildings. I even got to stand under the railway bridge which stored Queen Victoria body overnight when she was taken from her home on the Isle of Wight to London. It had a very spooky feel to it. That bit of track is still there along with a small section of the bridge. My children have grown up with us taking them to all of the wonderful places around us but now I feel that we need to revisit all of these places and start to investigate further afield. Xxx

Andrew's talk about ordinary people who wrote extraordinary books that influenced the world was inspiring. Wow. I'm so glad Megan got to see some English homes (CS Lewis and Jane Austen) and I'm sure we'll see that influence more of her decisions in creating her family home. Outstanding content. Lol I grew up in Temecula, California so I see hot air balloons all the time. It's been a while since I thought about how cool they are. They are really cool! It's nice to get a reminder to appreciate them. During covid, I used to wake up really early so I could take walks and see them. There were hardly any cars going by and it was so quiet and peaceful to watch them during my morning stroll walking my cocker spaniel, Zoey. It was the life.

But I had to chuckle thinking back to the grief you used to get from the haters about the term unschooling. No one can ever say your children were not schooled. PLEASE read for Andrew my recommendation below. First off, You all are so my kind of people. I love you all. And thank you for this AMAZING MAGICAL VIDEO SERIES OF ENGLAND, JANE AUSTIN & C.S. LEWIS NOSTALGIA. I watched more than once. Andrew gets it, simple people with big hearts/ big wisdom/ gentle or educated thoughts, they create the greatest works of literature & then they become big too. It shows everyone has greatness in them in some way to open the door to achieve & find true potential. Know Thyself. This geared to Andrew- I too a writer, & love of literature, & calligraphy writing too, you should start collecting fountain pens & ink & write the way it was done in Austin & Lewis Era. The feel of a beautiful flexy nib on quality paper like they used to have back then....nothing else like it. Then spending more & getting vintage nibs or fountain pens, writing on Tomoe River, Clairfontaine or Rhodia etc paper with high quality wet ink. The writing FEELS AMAZING TOO. Pen gliding beautifully on beautifully coated high GSM paper with a wonderful good ink flowing wet out of the flexy nib , words flowing like butter & silk from thought heart & Wisdom onto page... Mom & Dad, get Andrew a very good fountain pen with good ink and a good paper. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GETTING ANDREW THESE: 1. Pilot Iroshuzuki INK in any shade, they've many.. 2. A Conklin Duragraph fountain PEN with a 1.1 mm stub nib, an AMAZING WRITER! Comes with ink converter. 3. A Leuchtturm1917 Hardback with elastic closure (for finished pages etc) it's a journaling or BOOK WRITING NOTEBOOK with 200+ pages that are bleed through proof to the back and excellently coated for writing like silk. They have a beautiful ivory vs white to the page, lines, blank, (or dot grid for calligraphers, my fav)...pair that with a brown ink too for a vintage look. This will all set you back near $100. BUT MAKING THAT MAGIC HAPPEN FOR ANDREW, A WRITER ...MAKE THE FEEL OF THE EXPERIENCE SO MUCH MORE MAGIC & THE FINAL PRODUCT OF THE WRITING A THING OF BEAUTY BEFORE EVEN READING THE WORDS. ALSO- There are BEAUTIFUL shimmer sheening multicolor sparkling pearling inks in say Harry Potter Gryffendor colors or purple silver gold combo or brown with bronze & gold shimmer...Endless color sheen sparkle options. So many color combo options there. My fav are Galaxy by Fountain Pen Revolution (FPR), J. Herban Emerald Chivore, or Wearingaul Jong Yun Du in Starry Sky, an orange yellow gold ink. Writing with THOSE specialty inks on amazing paper with quality pen/nib...OH THE BEAUTY OF IT. MAKE THIS HAPPEN FOR ANDREW TO INCREASE THE MAGIC OF FINE WRITING FOR AN UP & COMING ADULT WRITER ......P.S. IT'S WHAT AUSTIN & LEWIS EXPERIENCED WRITING, because back then it was quality instruments vintage nibs, ink, & paper BEFORE mass produced to throw & toss convenient pens & thin GSM papers to sell cheap ...which progress is nice, but once you know true OLD, SCHOOL writing ✍️ ✒️📃🪶 & how it FEELS & LOOKS....as a writer.... Take the experience further. I also love wax stamps sealing letters/envelopes. It's JUST LIKE THIS- in your video, eating the WORST sticky toffee pudding daily & being used to it & then finding the Sticky Toffy Pudding of Mike's DREAMS😊, & going back to THAT as the preferred S.T.P. as none other compare or hold a candle to it. Heaven!! Oh i hope you GIVE THAT GIFT TO ANDREW with my recommended pen/nib, ink, & paper for his next birthday or a 'just because' gift. HE WILL LOVE IT!!! (And want to write even more)! He COULD write that number one best seller with that, via ordering more notebooks ...3 of the high quality Lech journals with high quality paper would be 1200 pages (front & back) or 600 pages without writing back side of page so as not to risk ghosting/bleed through from the prior page. Rhodia Webnotebook is identical to Leuchtturm1917 but made for fine nibs .38 to .50 vs broader smoother nibs like a 1.1 stub. Which 1.1 can hold specialty inks & not clog the bigger nib. So you want Leuchtturm1917 as it's GSM in the paper is a little bit thicker. OPEN THIS DOOR TO ANDREW: 🎉 FINE PENS, FINE NIBS, FINE INKS, FINE PAPER. THEN LET ANDREW WRITE LIKE MAGIC. 🎉❤✨️🌈😇📝 ✨️⚜️✒️📃🪶👑✨️ P.S. Japanese pens, ink, Maruman brand papers are AMAZING along with French clairfontaine paper, J. Herban inks & British & German top brands of fine writing tools etc. Conklin uses the German Jowo nibs. So any of their top brands. And, Japanese Jinhao fountain pens are GREAT AFFORDABLE entry pens in the BENT NIB, broad FUDE PEN catagory made for holding specialty inks on a budget. They'll set you back $20 for the pen vs $60 for the Conklin Duragraph 1.1 stub. But oh get the Duragraph first. It's just magic! And best budget friendly $80 pen typically found on sale on Prime for $50 to $60. It writes like a $400 Pilot pen OR a creme de le creme Montblanc. When Andrew gets his best seller published, he can get a Montblanc pen. 😊😊

In the old houses you will see that the downstairs windows are " normal " were as the upper windows are narrower and taller , this is because the spinners had their machines upstairs and used to spin the Cotton and wool while downstairs is were the family used to sleep and live . The older housing you see that are long but not so high but only have one door on the front are usually 2-3 houses ( if not more ) knocked into one for modern day living .

I did enjoy the sounds of nature as ya'll walked down the path. You were right, and I'm so glad you didn't record music for the walk down the path.

I feel like I have watched your boys grow up while I have been watching my own boys grow up. Love Andrew's thoughts on the small home of CS Lewis and how such great works came from that. Made me think of the scripture, "that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass." Alma 37:6

Oh this might be one of my favorite trips with your fam. I love to see inside Andrew’s thoughts. You have been able to grow creative thinkers. And a beautiful family. Thanks for the sneak peek in places I will never get to go. I could almost smell the mustiness of the buildings and rooms.

I love Andrew's passion for books and the authors, this whole video made me smile. I feel the same about J.R.R.Tolkien, my father gave me his book The Hobbit when I was 12yrs old and said that this book will change my life and it did. It was the start of an amazing adventure and journey into a new world. Books are magical.

Glad you enjoyed my childhood area….I grew up near Stow-on-the-Wold in a little Cotswold stone cottage and my ancestors for over 300 years lived in that area too. 💚🧡

Deliah Smith’s recipe for sticky toffee pudding is a good one. I’ve never made it myself but I’ve eaten and enjoyed it on several occasions as it’s one of my friends specialities. I remember that walk between upper and lower Slaughter from my childhood when we stayed in the area.
