God bless you! I'm not kidding. This back issue is LITERALLY ruining my life because the pain is so excruciating that I can't walk, leave my house or work and earn money but this stretch has put a light at the end of the tunnel and brought me back from the brink of suicide in just a few days. Thank you just isn't enough.

Awe love just stretch and exercise seriously you have to find stretches that can relieve pressure, stretch scar tissue, and also strengthen . Exercise is key and yoga stretches . I’ve had this in two legs

I feel I need to comment again. This is the first Christmas and New Year since 2018 that I haven’t been bothered with my sore piriformis area. After doing this exercise for a while occasionally I am still “aware” of it but I am no longer “constantly bothered” by it. Cannot thank you enough. All the stretches I was doing was making it worse. THIS made it better - thank you.

Brother I’m in literal tears right now. Thank you!!! I was to a point I couldn’t even put socks or shoes on my left foot, could stand or sit for more than a minute before the pain was unbearable and the numbing…. I’ve tried all the different types of stretches and they would either be too painful with no results or just plain didn’t work. This actually helped me! Thank you, you beautiful human being!

This is the BEST stretch I have come across yet!! Thank you!! I have been having a lot of pain with my knee (I think due to my tight periformis) and this seemed to instantly help the knee!

I think I've done every piriformis stretch on RU-vid but no real relief. IMMEDIATE relief from your stretch here! Unable to sleep, knee hurt, ankle hurt in addition to the "infamous" pain in the butt cheek! Thanks you so much! So glad I found you. Genius!

I want to thank you for helping me from the bottom of my heart. I fell XCountry skiing and injured my pelvis…Had regular and Pelvic floor physio. THIS exercise and the one for SI joint pain in your video with Stan the Skeleton have given me back my life in 3 days. I think the other physio helped a lot but this advice fine tuned my recovery. I feel normal and pain free for the first time in a year, I slept last night so deeply. God Bless you , thank you.

You, sir, are a godsend. I've been suffering from sciatica/piriformis pain for over a week and sleeping in my recliner. I tried your exercise this morning and can already feel the difference. I still feel the soreness in my butt, but I have no doubt that adding your exercise to my daily routine will get me back to normal in no time. Thank you God bless you!

OMG!! THANK YOU!! i have si joint issues where they get hung up both anteriorly and posteriorly .. i just started doing aquatic therapy and walking about 3 weeks ago and this muscle on my left leg has been SCREAMING for the last 4 days .. ive tried stretching every way possible and could not find relief .. my chiro didnt want me doing the more popular stretch for fear of making my si issues worse but i need SOMETHING! i cant kerp walking through the pain because its just getting worse .. THIS ONE WORKS - INSTANTLY!!! 😁😁😁 and its so simple to do in the gym after warming up .. thank you thank you thank you!!

Thankyou Darling, i had now piriformis 1,5 month this is only that i feel helps!!Really i cannot bend myself down and i try this other movement dot really helping. If i tryed ball massage it came even worse. Thanks to you😍🙂☀❤ I had first siatica then left piriformis and now right. I wake up in night and to put right leg to cold water were us salt helps more than painkillers. Hi Coach E. I don't have Sciatica, but I do have right side knee pain and right at the top of my right foot, and ankle bones. This seems to be addressing both of these issues and this is just my second day. The right knee seems to be popping a bit, but I now have reduced pain, walking and ascending stairs! Who knew, not the doctors for sure!

Usually with these videos I can pretty much follow along and easily visualize the muscle and it is apparent to me how the stretch will work. On this one, I wasn't skeptical because, of course, this guy does this for a living. However, I just couldn't get it straight in my head the mechanics of it. But I followed his instructions and the area of my body along the outer rt leg burned like crazy, and it happened immediately once I got into position. It was more of a sharp stab right below the hip joint. Obviously this is my problem area.

I’m sure by now you’ve learned to push your weight back on the back leg so you feel the stretch more in the piriformis (your butt), so I’m posting this for the benefit of a beginner who reads the comment and thinks, yeah, same here. Another way to avoid overloading the hip flexor: keep the legs relatively upright, feet not too far apart (impossible to be specific here). Do your best to replicate Mr Wong’s position and angles. This is an excellent stretch, demonstrated by an excellent teacher.

Whoa, this felt really good. Like what I'm trying to stretch when I move all around trying to get relief from pain. Thank you. Also, funny thing; I noticed while doing this that my sinuses opened up a bit. Almost like I got some more "head clarity" and just felt a bit more open breathing! Any idea why? That was a surprise.

Had a right hip replacement 18 months ago and about four months ago started having right thigh pain when i started walking for exercise. It kept getting worse to the point I am having a hard time walking without a cane. Back dr said it’s sciatica. Someone suggested an exercise which I’m guessing is similar to this. Stand with one leg pointing straight ahead and the other pointing inward towards the straight ahead foot. Rock to the side with the inward pointing foot. I immediately started getting relief and I’m guessing it stretches the piriformis similar to the stretch in the video?

i cant rotate my leg externally at all tos tretch the piriformis so this helps. i dont feel it as much tbh as a pidgeon but it did provide relief

I don't have piriformis syndrome or sciatica, but i sense that my piriformis could use some mobility improvement. I could feel a nice, gentle piriformis stretch with this exercise. I wasn't surprised to also feel a nice, gentle sartorius stretch. I think that will help, too.

Hi, I have a question. I followed your other video regarding the periformis in which you claimed that when the muscle tightens you have a reason, and the solution is not stretching, but strengthening, because the problem is neuromuscular. And here you are stretching the periformis muscle. I did not understand why. Thank you

@@PrecisionMovementCoach I don't know whether there is a thing called short or long periformis syndrome, but I have seen a physiotherapist saying that there are actually short and long periformis syndrome in a video, so my doubt is that the stretch which u have mentioned in this video can be used for both short and long or is there any such thing called short or long periformis??

My pain is in my right leg below the knee. Unbearable pain most of the time. I had an MRI and showed L5 which runs along my shin bone and outside part of my leg throbs. Is there anything focusing on this part that I can do?

Hi, I suffer with this and have spent a year living with it so fare. I had a Total knee replacment about 17 months ago, so I can’t do these exercises you are giving. Do you know any I can do that doesn’t involve twisting the knee? I would love to hear from you. Thanks Bev

Are you saying that your knees hurt after you do it? You could try backing off a bit by changing the way in which you position your feet. Let us know if that helps.- Coach Joshua, Team PM

I’m hypermobile (hEDS) and tried this stretch. I think the idea might be a key for me but the only way I feel it is putting more weight on my front leg and hinging/twist my torso forward. Any thoughts?

As a hypermobile person just make sure not to push too far into ligaments and keep the sensation in the piriformis muscle.

Does that sound like what I did still could have been effective? I’ve just done tons of experimenting and time with external rotation stretches and think maybe stretching it with internal rotation might have been what I was missing. After trying it last night I noticed I do feel a little better today, which is amazing!!

Hello, why do I only feel a stretch in the front of the hip? I don't feel it at all in the piriformys. I only feel disnconfort in the IT band afterwards.
