SCAVENGER HUNT DETAILS:
By participating in the scavenger hunt, you will have the chance to enter to win the following prizes:
-Signed Cath in College swag!
-A Skype call with Cath!
-A goody bag (containing an Echo Dot, a Parker Pen, a Pop Socket, and a T-shirt) sponsored by our friends at Deserve!
Please keep in mind that, although you will be able to enter each of the three giveaways, you will only be able to win one of them. No one person can win both the swag and the gift card, or all three.
Here’s how the Scavenger Hunt will work:
-At the end of every “7 Days of CiC” video, there’ll be a clue directing you to a CiC video, blog post, Instagram post, or Amino post.
-In the description box of each day's video, we’ll be posting three different links directing you to Google forms. Each form has the same question; the question will be a trivia fact about the specific video, blog post, Instagram post, or Amino post.
-However, depending on which form you click, you will be entered for a different prize. MAKE SURE YOU CLICK ON THE GOOGLE FORM OF THE PRIZE YOU WANT TO WIN. For example, if you want to be entered in the giveaway for the signed CiC swag, make sure you click on the link that specifies it’s for people who want to win the CiC swag.
If you get the answer to the question right, you’ll be automatically entered in the giveaway for that specific object.
-You only get one entry per day. This means that if you enter on Day 1 for the CiC swag, you can’t enter for the gift card or the Skype call on the same day. [If we see duplicate email addresses, we will be deleting all of the entries if you’ve entered multiple times.]
-However, you can enter for different prizes on different days.
-You can’t come back the next day and enter through the same Google form if you’ve entered through it already. We will be checking.
However, if you arrive late to the party and haven’t filled out previous days’ clues, you can go back to previous days and enter through there--all Google Form links will remain available until Tuesday, January 16th at 11:59pm PST.
****Giveaway winners will be announced on the RU-vid channel, Instagram, and Amino on Wednesday, January 17th - the CiC Senior Year Season 2 premiere.

Very true. Before I went to college , I thought choosing the right and most prestigious school will make you look smart and that you know what you are doing. But as a senior at a public university in California, I realized that it doesn’t matter which school you go to. What matters is that every school is giving you the same education and how much time and effort you put into your education. The only difference is the huge difference of the tuition. Lol Every opinion is different and I respect other opinions! 😁

Aryan Saha my brother is going to stanford, we thought he was going to get a good scholarship because my dad died and he was our main source of income, but they gave us none because of his life insurance (which my mom has to live on the rest of her life)

Either go to a public school with 8,000 of tuition a year or Stanford with 50,000 of tuition a year for the same exact degree??....hmmm decisions...

Jason Varughese I'm not defending the cost however given the extreme success rate compared to a community college it is worth at least most if the cost

but the stanford name only really helps for your first job/looking for internships. After that it's based on your experience and performance.

first job and internships are extremely important because if you don't get a good first experience or don't get one at all it'll be hard for you to get a successful career

you can’t say that the degree is the only thing you get out of going to stanford though. Stanford is ranked super high in the nation for a reason, the resources, professors, and what you learn. You can’t say that you learn the exact same thing and are demanded as high as a level of proficiency at a community college as compared to stanford.

Yes, but it's not like you can't find an internship if you go to a different school. Yes, some schools may offer a good relationship with the company to kind of help you, but it all comes down to who you are, and what you know. A company isn't going to outright reject you just because you don't go to a prestigious school. As long as you work hard you should still be able to find one.

Cath can you answer a question for me? I am hoping to go to college in the US (I'm from the UK) but by the time I get there I will be two years older than most of the others in my freshman class. I was just wondering if I would be able to fit in and have a normal college experience despite being a few years older than my classmates?

I'm a freshmen at Stanford right now, and I have freshmen friends who are significantly older for a whole host of reasons! You shouldn't have any problems fitting in.
