This reminds me of those old films with the guy playing the stand up bass slapping the hell out of it and me not hearing a damn thing.This is better. I still think it could be louder. as for the other guy never heard of him. But if Stanley likes him he must be good.

Major Mazzaroth I agree. 'huge instrument, huge guy, must be loud, doesn't need a mic....' seen it so many times, the bassist making a huge effort and not being included in the mix. Still happens.

Pour une âme bien née la valeur n'attend point le nombre des années! Et oui, à cet âge Siriki a déjà conquit la planète et joue au côté des grands noms de la musique mondiale ! C'est la suite logique de ce qui représente sa famille.

Stanley should really consider working more with West African styles of music forms, and instruments like the kora. Duos and trios would be nice with the double bass.

A Wah-Wahed Kora...Sidiki is not a Jazz rookie at all. This jam reminds me of "Indigo" ( Di Meola, Clarke, Ponty, The Rite of Strings album) and at 2:20 he came with a riff from " Mirage" by Ponty. I'm pretty sure he's a Jazz-Rock fan. On the back of being a Kora dazzling master. Thanks for sharing.

Sikidi is african the 71s generation playing Kora in his family, please stop it. He is just sharing his ancestral culture.
@hamedtriqui

72nd generation....He can share his ancestors traditions and listen to Jazz-Rock, isn't it? His father, Toumani recorded with several musicians from several roots, so did Ablaye Cissoko, Ballaké Cissoko and so on. I'm pretty sure Konté is proud of them.

do you know from where the potty inspiration came from? its from africa. please check his album with african musicians. maybe its more him who is listening a lot of music from africa and the black people in general. it would be nice not to invert the roles ;-) by the way i am a full time african musician. ;-) peace
