This craze is absolutely WILD! I went down a rabbit hole when the Valentine's Day Stanley launched. I seriously feel for these poor store employees that had to endure the LITERAL abuse and chaos that ensued. I will never understand people, truly. My faith in humanity was already pretty low- this whole Stanley craze has made it even lower for me.

My husband is a trucker named Stanley and has the classic green 1 liter thermos. My brother gave him it 2 years ago for Christmas and my husband loves it cos it keeps his coffee hot and it has his name on it. I told him how fashionable he is now and he had a good laugh.
I completely agree about the pshycological reason,the dystopian craziness and resale value of the limited edition. But physical altercations for a tumbler is so unjustified. I feel so sorry for the starbucks employee(who are mostly students or very young kids).
Hi Julie! Don't laugh, but I ordered a Stanley Cup today LOL. It's not the Barbie or Valentine pink ones, it's the Tiffany Blue one :) I'm going back to work next Monday and I needed a good cup, mine are old and they don't stay cool. I saw the dupes on Amazon, but I figured...why not? Cheers!
I've been living in the UK the last 3 years and I notice that Europeans do not jump on board trends like Americans do- Europeans prefer to get things that they personally like and suits their lifestyle, and intend to use them for years to come. Also heavily branded items are seen as tacky and tasteless no matter how much money you have. I only saw this Stanley trend recently, so I watched your video to understand why it became a thing 😂
HI Julie, I figured that the madness was because people who don't have real jobs have to resell these stupid cups. I remember when you first mentioned your Stanley Cup, I thought: "what? Julie has the hockey trophy?" LOL
I don’t get the Stanley cup thing. Idk if it’s cause my grandpa was a trucker for many years but they all just remind me of the cups he had on the road. Lol
Hi! I've heard those cups yesterday, I guess, but had no idea of this craze.. 😮 To me it sounds silly wanting something for the sole reason lots of other ppl want it too. That has the opposite effect on me. When it comes to makeup products, however, I was a bit like that at some point, thankgoodness no more. With that said, I see how kids can get influenced in wanting to collect such stuff in all the styles etc., it's like being part of a nation-wide game, "gotta catch-em-all"-style. They might not even think much about it. Nevertheless, they should, for they are being manipulated by companies in collecting overpriced stuff they don't need with money they don't have. So, your video is part of a larger public conversation that tries to reflect upon these phemomena. Hopefully lots of ppl will watch it ❤😊
I’m glad you don’t give into the hype! As you said, makeup gets me way more haha It’s just crazy how much social media influences other people nowadays and makes them into hoarders in a way.
Lol 😅 do you remember those Jellybean plastic shoes and the yellow and purple stockings and the pastel overalls that were a craze back in the day? Few will, because I think that was in the 80's.
If it weren't so sad, it would be funny. It makes me feel sorry for people. Someone who buys a cup for $400 needs real help sorry to say. I've lived in multiple countries and never seen people so desperate to be popular and fit in, as in America. They will literally bully someone if the main bully tells them to, for those who are just buying it to fit in and not resell, that's even more concerning.
I know it’s entertaining, but also very sad like you said! It’s sad how society has just taught us to blend in and we are seen as outcasts or “weird” if we aren’t like the others.
