I went to the Greycat one on Microtech earlier. Parked on the perimeter, walked around for ages, but then had no clue where my ship was. I ended up walking about another 30 mins around the outside until I found my ship. Those distro centres are massive!
Oh man, we're as far from 2018 as 2018nis from 2012. Crazy how much progress this game has made, completely different experiences between pre and post '18 SC
I swear I remember during one of the shows by CIG they talked about bounty hunting offices, where players would turn in the bodies of the bounties, in these new UGFs but I haven't seen anything since then. Would be nice if these were included.
@@SpaceTomato oh ok. I guess it all just blends together. Yeah. They’d be good in these too. I’ll have to go back and try and find the video of them. Thanks for the response!
These distribution centres are probably a big part of Quantum economy. If I remember correctly, Quantum did feature facilities that would request resources for production. This fits well with these facilities and their alliances.
I hope one day we get a huge deep ocean we can explore and own ships and transfer stuff that way… like a special trade item that can’t be flown because it’s volatile in higher altitude or somethin… but then we could have submarines and boats and ocean pirates
@TheChosenOne471 yeah that was actually one of the biggest features they were working on during 2018, they had to perfect the way objects reacted to water, and make it more dynamic, giving us those beautiful effects and waves.
I haven't had a chance to visit here yet, but I do hope they use procedural tech to alter the appearances, silhouettes and location of items a bit more. Not every distribution center in the world looks the same, has the same layout, etc. Like taking the stations, (minus the stupid dead ends & lack of logic for layout) and changing the materials to match the planet or company. That's my only issue with what I've seen from these. If they could add these roads to existing and new cities, I'd be so happy. Players want variety, more content, more mission variety and logical layouts. You can't do that without pushing the procedural tools out farther.
This raises three similar questions to mind for me. Some would be assumed, but implemented is another story. -1- Will com arrays matter? Like if coms are down, can you sneak in with a crime stat? -2- will rep be 'updated' when coms are down? like if you attack and coms are down, will your rep drop instantly across the verse? Would it wait until coms are reestablished? Would you have a chance to 'hack' away the offense before coms come up? -3- multiple faction(s/agents): faction agent asks you to conduct an espionage action, and you get caught. You'd likely lose faction rep, but would you lose rep with that agent as well?
3.23 has me extremely excited. The only feature I really want from it is CIGs official controller support to finally work. I hope it actually releases this month.
I have been using an Xbox controller for the past year, with no issues. You can also use the program called reWASD to customize your controller buttons.
I've only been dipping my toes in the verse for about 2 years, off and on in 2-3 month spurts. I'm just coming back now after being away for 6 months or so and between what I've seen in 3.22 and what's coming in 3.23, I may be sticking around a bit longer this time around.
what i hope with the Distribution Centers that its feels less copy paste tha witht he old underground parts. this mean in the best case we get a mp style from the start. thanks for the update! can wait to see it on you stream!
they have the underground shit they just dont have a reason to push them out anytime yet they said raids are comming .. than means , 1 when they can market them and when they are ready. not everything they make is going to get to us right away. As i told people on the forum .. this patch is STUPID huge and x patches will be required as its all year.. these undergrounds will prob be slated for next year... if they get meshing working and so on. im a happy little nerd and so should you be. ^_^
Crazy how 3.23 changes a tonne of things. Been playing steadily since 2020 and I need to re-learn a tonne of things. People with no patience may get b!chy
I rarely if ever meet aggressive players, but we are not currently in an incredibly safe star system, you'll find things are different in places like Terra, I think.
Are these really going to be anything other than a cattle funnel for gankers and griefers to have an easier time finding targets? It's always amusing how CIG likes to pretend like "unaggressive" play is actually something they care about. They have to keep up the pretence in order to provide their core target audience (gankers and girefers) with their desired content I suppose.
Trying to work a full time job in this game will always be the biggest mistake development wise. Sandbox shenanigans will always overtake corporate gameplay.
I don't understand. Don't you do that with literally every other game that's ever released? Demo's aren't that common anymore so nearly every time you buy a game you're taking a risk, right?
