I'm old... FPS is a young persons game. Back in the day I was pretty good at FPS. But I have REALLY started to enjoy SC FPS game play again. I hope this continues.
@yous2244 Not sure what old is anymore. Currently, I'm in my 60s, but there are a couple of org. members in their 70s. I love sniping. Cyberpunk 2077, Fallout I'm always the sniper.
i hope in time we get high quality looking non manufacturer guns. So like if youre a good explorer you might find that one mom and pop workshop with the highest quality homemade tools
It's likely not for you sadly, it was a special pledge weapon from backing another game a very very long time ago which people have been waiting years for. Although that might be a variant of this one and everyone might get what we see here. It'll be interesting
I've been hoping for a Volt weapons package in the pledge store since they showed them in the sneak peeks a few years back. I'd really like to have those guns on my account at all times, without needing to run around and pick them up. They look so good, and they seem really handy for players who might not be spending a lot of time in developed systems.
Surprised you didn't mention the new Behring assault rifle that's also in development, between the new weapons announced that's the one I'm most excited for.
With all the FPS changes that have been made, it is isn't surprising that the ships get all the attention when you realize that ships cost a lot more as pledges. When FPS pledges start going triple digit yhen it may see as much attention as new ships.
I kinda hate how teh crossbow bolts are electric now, its goofy to see the electric effect appear far from were you hit the enemy, and it defeats the idea of no EM signature when the shot itself is a lightshow of lightning
Small concern that I have is in many other games with different damage types and armor that is effective against certain types, is you end up wearing armor with the drawbacks, but it is functionally useless when you're in the fight. Then it devolves into the flavor of the month meta as the devs tweak things for balance. Given how CIG really is limiting inventory (or eliminating it), things could get challenging to just play.
They are just changing the way it is accessed, with .24 you won't be able to just hit I after you call your ship and throw on gear anymore, you will have to go to a terminal.
@@Banzai51 Eve online, Elite, RuneScape, WoW, and basically any other MMO you have to go to a predetermined inventory spot to access what you are not carrying on you at that moment, why does no one have any issues with these other games?
@@MrRoblcopter Because in all those games you can loot a full armor set or multiple weapons or mats without issue. There is a balance between infinite personal storage and so little storage you can't loot much of anything. CIG is failing by that measure.
@@Banzai51 Right, stations have the infinite personal storage, but in none of those games does your character have infinite storage, in those games you also have to choose what to take and what not to take when going out to do stuff. CIG literally added the 1,2,4,8+ scu crates into the game so that we could carry more. Also looting is still just as easy in SC, we just have more screens to use depending on what we're/how we're looting.
I've been watching Star Citizen videos for almost a year, it's the sort of game I really want to play but I am very hesitant about buying an unfinished game, is there a release date for a stable full game or will this just keep going indefinitely?
Basically SC is a first person "shooter" where you shoot with a gun or a flight stick, whether it be a bullet killing NPC or PC alike or an industrial laser killing a rock or derelict ship.
I really enjoy the gunplay of star citizen overall but I do get why mastermodes gets all the attention since you'll likely be flying a ship more than you will fighting on the ground. It's sad but right now Star Citizen is shaping up to be a better FPS MMO than it is a Space Sim MMO
I watched your interview with Yogi and Avenger One. I cant believe This is how bad the flight model is right now. In my eye flight model should never be put to the side its core of the game you spend 90% of your time flying around. Why move focus and leave flight model in this state. Really I understand they got there hands full but rather small improvement not sure why they all ways take 10 step back. Never gonna get there if we go backwards every couple of years master modes must go. The old flight model had problems but needed to be tweaked not replaced !!
Tomato - given your background from console shooters I think it would be good for you to give a tactical PC FPS game a good try to see why quite a few people in the community are really not happy with the recent changes to SC's FPS combat. The main complaints are a really long TTK, hit markers, kill markers (in particular), sniper glint and other elements that are taken from fast paced arena shooters. Have a go with Gray Zone Warfare in PvE (PvP is rather unbalanced at the moment thanks to landing zone camping). SImilar open world-ish feel, transport into the area of operation, loss of gear and significant loss of time upon death. But in contrast to SC it has a super short TTK, it has no hit markers, and you are forced to play in a really tactical manner. Running and gunning against opponents is almost never possible as you cannot tank any incoming fire without dying or being seriously incapacitated. Unfortunately what we currently have in SC is closer to CoD, and doesn't gel very well with the other aspects of the game that are leaning more and more into the sim side of things with detailed and time consuming prep time.
Its all cool n all but when is Tomato Gameplay coming? I want to sow tomato n sell tomato, blend tomato and eat azteca soup and gazpacho in space. We nid tomato gameplay.
im so sick of SC fps....theres a hundred games that do fps well that has 100fps....i want sc to explore space and trade and data run and everything but fps
I have no idea how people still get hyped by CIG.all i see is promisses and poor stability and perfomance and bugs that exists after six years playing.all they want now is your money.its so obvious.🙄
But have you actually been playing this entire time? I've been watching SC since the kick starter and pledged when the hangar module and AC module came out. Considering I've also played nms, elite, eve, and X4 over that time period I can easily say that SC is the only one that's actually got me hooked and that I come back to regularly. SC has come along in a massive way in more recent years, and honestly this year has only shown that they intend to push that tempo even further.
