The Hercules line of heavy transports was designed specifically to carry Novas or multiple smaller vehicles and even snub fighters. The ship you shot with the tank that shot back was a Hercules C2 civilian model. The military variants have more HP and turrets and one a nuclear bomb launcher that one-shots everything. There is a heavy tractor beam rifle sold at cargo deck stores that can move small ships and vehicles. The handheld multitool can drag some a little and may have dislodged the tank from the gravity plates. Ships have their own gravity plates as long as you are inside or touching a landing pad/cargo grid and some elevators, but never ramps when open. If you had jumped while running around the tank in the Carrack's hangar you may have fallen. In SC the rule of thumb is you sell things where they are bought mostly. TDD trade offices on planet landing zones and the yellow admin offices buy one type or the other of salvage boxes exclusively iirc. Ship weapons and components can be sold from your cargo hold if their name is green not red when you pluck them off salvaged ships. Ship parts can't be stored once they are physicalized in world until the cargo update. You can also refit non destroyed ships using a tractor beam if the shields are down and slots unlocked from the pilot's seat controls. Sometimes NPC/players have guns and modules you want to buy for your ship that can be salvaged in space after you disable/destroy them. The Vulture is a nice way to get into salvage. You can also rent ships if you want to try before you grind for them or grind in that ship to speed up the process. Refinery decks on stations also sell industrial related supplies with a ship rental kiosk dedicated to those ships and vehicles.
At 12:00 the structure you flew over was one of the race tracks, those are fun in something small and fast, a brown pants key mashing nightmare in a connie... I may have tried lol
I'm really enjoying your videos, man. Great quality you deserve so many more subscribers. And ya, gravity is basically invisible box zones and the only way to turn it off in a ship is to soft death it right now. I'd love for there to be a toggle for it tho.
The safest way to get that Tonk out of the Carrack would probably be to use the tractor beam on an Argo SRV (= space tow truck) and tractor it out. You'd have to be outside of armistice zones and deactivate the Carrack's and the Tonk's shields to do that.
What this game needs is a fury with that tank gun!! If the tank can go up an 80 degree incline, you could possibly park the carrack nose down at a slighter angle and drive the tank up to the hangar. Thanks for show a great workaround. The hangar contains artificial gravity able to withstand the ships scceleration and quantum. The elevator of the Corsair that goes to the roof is another good example.
Love the science you've done here. Though I'm curious if a tractor beam would be easier. You might be able to use one of those large hand-held tractor beams from the top of the Carrack and drop it in.
I feel like they could raise that upper lip of the door and just fit the tank in but I'd recommend driving it in backwards if they do that people always get stuck reversing out of a hangar that it only just fits in! btw the hangar has it's own artificial gravity if you could get it on the roof again and leave it there the only problem is you couldn't leave atmos or tilt the ship at all then!
As a Vulture owner, my only complaint is it's relatively small cargo hold. Hopefully we'll get a mid-range salvage ship soon (the Reclaimer is a huge step up in cost and size).
The correct terminology for the Nova.. is "Nova Tonk" (its a community thing where a Dev with a really heavy accent pronounced it like that during its debut stream. Its NOT an insult to the Dev, we just really loved his way of pronouncing it and it made it 'unique'.. so its become the 'community name' for the vehicle :D )
@@DIGITALSANDBOX Yup! At first people thought the community was making fun of the Dev for it.. but the reality is that we just loved the way it sounded, and it gave it a 'unique' name.. Kinda like how the 'net' has words like "Stronk" or "Halp" and such. "Tonk" became Star Citizen's word for "tank" :)
The other Crate is made from the desintegration of the hull of the ships and is called Construction Material (CMAT) not Recicle Material Composite (RMC). And for the tank i think you can try the big tractor beam that are sold at the Cargo part of the stations or the tractor beam of a vehicle (Contellation Taurus turret or Argo SRV)
I traded out the tractor beam that's paired with the albrade hull scraper for another scraper instead. Have the two smaller more efficient ones and two of the larger, less efficient but much quicker ones for quick scraping. Taking even a C2 contract for 50k can make about 200k in profit, I think, been using a reclaimer for a while now so don't remember how much I usually made. Also selling the construction materials and recycled material composite is best at the planets' capitals. 1 unit of RMC gets about 13k there, CM is 6 or 7k per unit.
Hey considering if you go to the Bathroom on your ship while in hyperdrive and sometimes get booted into deep space as your ship flies on without you, you can never be to cautious
I’ve been finding the C1 to be a really good pairing for 1 or 2 person operation, given the C1 has its rear tractor beam which can make cargo transfer from the vulture really easy
Yeah i used to do this all the time.. there was a "glitch" where you could actually leave it ontop because it had agravity pull and anything you put up there would stay.. so i would had one tank with two fury. Or a ballista and two fury. You could also store and take it out. Once they fixed the "glitch" it became useless. Once yoi store and take ot out it wil damage your shit and most times blew my carrack to bits so i stopped..
When I watch your videos it feels a bit like watching a movie. You can change your imprint location to the Carrack. Then you don't have to be afraid of dying ;-) (And take a look at a space stations. On the top floor. Maybe you still find those nice things)
I made my start with a prospector in 3.18, while so many were having a hard time doing merc jobs or bounties I was just cracking rocks. Kept building up and grinding and started what is now my fleet. Actually looking forward to a wipe it'll simplify my plans at the ASOP picking ships haha
You should sell the material from the Vulture on the main planet once in the TDD and once in the Admin Office. You have to go to both offices. There is more there than at the scrap yard
I think I sent out a distress call I got destroyed in the new buildings called distribution centers and uhhh well I think you could get content for that 😅 I got an hour and a half from post of this so I could die before you help 😢
@@hurrikayne907jr unfortunately I can’t get into the PU, I keep getting 30k’s in the loading screen and I have to alt F4 to get out. I can only do arena commander. I even re installed the game and deleted my shader caches! So frustrating:((
