Star Citizen is incredible, ambitious, and full of bugs at the same time. So much potential here. Let's play for the first time with @TwoAngryGamersTV Remag and Freeman. Leave a LIKE and a comment, thanks for watching.
I was 26 when I purchased this. Now i'm 35 and soon a father. Damn, I hope I will be able to enjoy the final version of this game. EDIT June 2024: Im offically 38 YO now, and my second kid will be here in a month :D Im still able to play 1h or 2 per week at SC.
Yeah after you have played for like 500+ hrs of the alpha builds, some bugs stick with you. Like when I saw them get on the minigun turret at the base, I internally screamed. That's because when it was introduced, there was a bug that caused you to become stuck in them, which forced you to shut down and restart the game. I have avoided them since like a plague. But apparently they fixed it. On the other hand, the box missions have worked just fine for me every patch for over a year and I have never died to the box missions. But I did hear they were wonky at release. Funny to see some of the OG testers still being suspicious of the boxes :D It feels like most testers have PTSD of bugs they have encountered a lot, and learned some workaround ritual at the time. And these people are still devoted to the workaround rituals even if the bug has been fixed.
@@RestrictedHades He right though, the scale of the game is so big and they want to do so many things that it will take years and years for the game to even see beta let alone full release.
Never heard of this game until now, and I am so delighted to someday play the full version of this. I didn’t imagine the scale in this game was possible, but I’m immensely surprised and excited for the future
This gives me “edge of tomorrow” vibes. The specific instructions from your friend who has been jaded by living through the dumbest deaths. Great video!
Even if the game is never fully released, the systems they are creating are practically revolutionary. I really hope they are/will let other game devs put this tech to use.
The thing that ALWAYS gives me those "Holyshit" feels in Star Citizen, is just the sheer scale of things. And that when you look at a ship, you're not looking at a chunk of metal with a seat in it. You're looking at a flying building, a single bed apartment, a fully stocked home, or a skyscraper. There is so much detail in the ships it is insane, and I love that you have to actually learn the layout just to get into the pilots seat of some of the biggest ships. And then the scale of the world. Standing on a planet, if you can see another planet off in the distance, you can go stand on it. And it's just as big, if not bigger, than the planet you're standing on. The software and physics bugs aside, there is -so- much to Star Citizen. And the flight system can be made super simple on M&K, or maddeningly detailed, flight sim grade, with the right hardware.
@@MachinedFace88ttv It was the realization of the potential of total immersion. While it is not fully there yet, you can feel it everytime you log in, and then get pulled out by a bug. Still this potential cant be found anywhere else right now.
Bought access to this game years ago and never really tried it, but your video just made me hop back in and happy I did. Currently taking it slow and learning but I love how immersive this game is and the sense of scale. Thanks for the video!
the only thing you can do it take the game slow. it takes 30 mins to get out of the space port and actually begin playing the game. and even them its just flying around and dying because of their "hyper-realism"
There's a couple days left in the freeplay event, so if you want to see if it runs for you give it a shot. Freefly events happen a few times a year too so if you miss it nbd, just be sure to use someone's referral code at sign up cus there's usually a good perk
It is. I really hope they get it past the Alpha state in the next year... I am an original backer. I can tell you it is a LOT better than it was 4 or 5 years ago. Leaving atmo in my Starfarer (or as I fondly call it the Starcow) on Hurston was a nightmare. Leaving atmo took awhile on any ship back then, but the larger ships had some serious trouble LOL. If you tried to go straight up, you would start losing altitude even at full thrust... Thank the Great Noodle they fixed that LOL
Jack : **Pulls out Rocket Launcher** "That's extremely dangerous, I don't know why you brought that" Hahaha I like how they're treating him like a child 😂
When that happens - after you've walked yourself into this trap by attempting to use a grenade in the first place - it's best to just run toward the enemy you were trying to 'nade because there's a small chance you _might_ get close enough to them to kill them along with yourself. That way when you come back for your body in a bit there's hopefully one (or more) less enemies to deal with. 👍
@@matsu1140 it doesnt need a released day, i think it will never have one , it will be beta phase then no more wipe and it will be update util CR dies the thing is you can already play it so its kind of release already , how good it need to be for you for actul play well it dependes from ppl to ppl im just waiting the version 4.0 (hope this year ) to play it
1:13 "What.. this is a game..?" I'm dying at this, your accent makes it sound perfect I'm in semi rural America though, trains aren't something I'm used to so it probably wouldn't feel so weird to me
@@seanwarren9357 I honestly have no idea what you're on about. It's obviously an oblivious act as it can be at times entertaining but it's, in my opinion and for the most part, quite annoying.
My favorite was the "No" when Jack asks if he has to be interviewed. As if all the hoops he had to jump thru just to get to the spaceport didn't make customs interviews a distinct possibility.
This video regardless of the game was so fun. You got some really cool friends and it was really funny witnessing how they carried you around (and us) giving us a glimpse of the content. Thanks this really was entertaining!
Even with all the frustrating bugs, having those moments in between of just being able to experience the beautiful universe of Star Citizen is amazing, the game is so damn pretty.
They must have some really, really talented 3D modelers. I just got to the first spaceship and modeling that interior+exterior and making it functional while adhering to polycounts must have been quite a challenge.
They have some really cool dev videos and are very transparent with the pipeline of the process. I swear you can learn some core concepts of game dev smoke and mirrors by just watching how this game is made.
i bet the counts are up there. CryEngine will handle whatever basically and not crash, but the game will be as hard to run as you would expect from doing it.
you have seen nothing xD have a look at one of the multi-deck spaceships like the Carrack for example. incredible interior design that fits inside a very good looking spaceship. with working components, multiple internal lifts and even a shuttlecraft hangar. Or the 890J from Origin, Luxury yacht with multiple floors, a swimming pool and a bar. you can fly a small ship inside its hangar while the big ship is flying as well.
@@stalkingcat2684 just admit your potato PC can’t run it and move on. This game is an incredible experience and it’s not even close to being released. Weirdo
Jack, this really lifted my spirits this morning here in Chicago. That ending was hilarious and awesome, with the music and the ending channel animation. Would love to see some more Star Citizen content with you and your buddys.
As of now there is no VR support. The frame rate is too low in game and so it would be a terrible experience. I think the plan is to think about adding support for it way in the future but nothing in the short term.
the fact that he was able to pick it back up shows how far this game has evolved already.. the whole video was surprisingly bug free. that "death by deliverystation" must be a new bug, never had problems with these...
Dont get to excited, it is never coming out, they miss all roadmap points YEARS AND YEARS. They are not keeping ANY promises. This is a tech demo at best, the have scammed 500 million from people and its disgusting.
They set a record a few months ago with over 100 players in an 890 Jump (a 200+ meter-long cruise ship) who all got on the ship together, hung out in the huge 3-level atrium with massive skylight-dome ceiling for screenshots while they traveled, flew to another planet and disembarked there together too, all without any loading screens or interruptions from ground-to-space-to-other planet-ground. In no other game has that ever even been possible. And this game is still in Alpha development, they're still expanding the mechanics and will be for a few more years still.
I was playing this game and accidentally left my ship while I was fast travelling. I was so immersed that I felt real fear. I felt helpless and scared and alone. I then remembered it was a game and held backspace to respawn.... That is what Star Citizen is like for those of you who haven't played.
9:26 This specific scene is what made me realize how great this game is at their style, aesthetic, details, and graphics. It looks like something out of a cinematic sci-fi movie! So beautiful. Star Citizen makes space and planets look 10x nicer and you get that sense of interstellar freedom of traveling through space and planets with your awesome gear and weapons. Awesome vibe tbh!
I’m just having the best of time watching these guys navigate through the amount of horrendous bugs that make absolutely no sense at all. Everything is be extra ‘gingerly’ about what you do or the game will smite you lol
i remember one time i found my first cluster of actually good quantanium like 20-30% each and i was mining the biggest one.. it exploded on me while i was in the green zone while mining. lol
This game even in the current state is just something I've always wanted to play. The fact that they are still working on it and improving it still gives me hope. I would love to be able to afford a PC that could handle it. I'd definitely play it now
Just me or does this look like a real life sim? The level of detail on things and how realistic actions have consequences, I mean look at that last part having the ramp be broken probably from the dog fight they just had so they called a friend to try and help them lol. Could've probably had some low tech rope but maybe I'm asking too much 🤣 Its the embodiment of having your car keys locked in the car lol.
it's a terrain collision issue. One of the many bugs that needs hammered out. The game does look beautiful and is quite fun to play when things are going right. But it is definetly still in alpha testing. As such there are still quite a few bugs and a lack of content, both requiring development time.
How many med pens would you like? Jack: Yes Once again jack's impatience to get to the guns and avoid reading screws him over. Never change dude, that was fucking hilarious
I was never into gaming, hate gaming/streaming culture actually, but as a scifi/star trek/star wars/general space lore enthusiast, this is the one game that will get me into gaming, and I love that its in what resembles to be a Beta stage so I feel like I grow along its movement
You guys are hilarious, I literally got elbowed in the head by my wife as I was consistently laughing out loud while she was trying to sleep. Great job guys.
Wow this looks incredible. I remember playing Elite, years ago when it first came out - and being blown away by the scale and freedom of that game. Star Citizen seems like the ultimate evolution of that game concept - mindblowing!
Too many things are too realistic though. By that I mean, there is a lot of mundane stuff to do that doesn't look fun at all. Cool to see the first time or two, but not fun to have to do all the time in a game.
Elite Dangerous has had major expansions. On planet landing, out of ship fps gameplay. Universe is dramatically larger. You might check it out again if you havent recently
I think Elite Dangerous is the ultimate evolution of the original Elite... but... can't take anything away from Star Citizen other than its millions of annoying bugs, but man is it pretty.
Its interesting seeing this game through "fresh eyes". Many of us have been here for years and we tend to forget how hard it can be to do little things like navigate to the spaceport! 😃
It gave me a dejavu feeling my first day playing SC and being lost. Haven't felt that since 2013 when I first loaded up the arma 2 dayz mod and was blown away by the map size and got lost for 4 hours wandering the woods.
@@cassu6 It was such a confusing but amazing time learning to play dayz back on arma 2. Its really such a unique experience I'll remember it for the rest of my life.
im glad people are picking this up and spreading the positivity of it now, yeah it's still a long way off before it's a full game but when it all works well it's super immersive. I can spend hours and hours in it having a blast until something completely ridiculous happens and makes me rage quit for a few weeks.
@@marcosdheleno The thing is, that's how you get by-the-numbers stuff. Games that aren't on deadlines have the potential to be so much more. That's how you get stuff like Dwarf Fortress and Kenshi and Deep Rock Galactic.
My jaw was on the floor the whole time I was watching this video. This stuff is so expansive beyond just its sheer sense of scale and detail at every nook and cranny of that scale. It has the potential for real player-driven narratives and adventures outside of the story and quests that are created by the game. I hope they expand on that aspect further as well.
Honestly, player driven gameplay is a big part of it right now for a lot of players. Groups get toegether and litterally make their own gameplay. Some of these adventures can grow so big and popular that the dev team will work them into the game lore as it's done with Jumptown and the Daymar Rally. Look 'em up if your interested in knowing more :)
you have seen nothing so far =) this game got alot more impressive stuff already. the bigger ships for example, or the cloud-city, or the event with the capital ships... still in alpha state, but already a very impressive piece of art
Haven't watched Jack for a while since he doesn't play games which interest me longer, but this is just absolutely BRILLIANT! Just like in the olden days, and the chemistry between Twoangrygamers and Jack is just fantastic. Watched from the beginning to the end, thoroughly enjoyed!! CHEERS keep it up Jack
Shout out to the amazing audio quality. All voices at great quality but most importantly: masterful volume leveling throughout. As a headphone user this was not only pleasant to watch (amazing editing and content btw) but also a pleasant listening experience from start to finish not touching the volume dial even once. A detail overlooked by many creators, I find. Welcome to the verse and really hope to see more of your adventures as development chugs along. o7
What's even worse about Audio levels, is, when you are listening or watching videos in your car through the sound system. The road noise really exaggerates the ability to hear when audio levels dip
So true! S Sound quality is finally getting attention in games. Forever ive been wanting/craving for better all-around sound. ie: FX, Quality, Levels, Realism..etc It's such an important tool for immersion gaming.
I agree, I was watching a RU-vid channel the other day with 1M+ subs and the audio levels were ALL OVER the place. Audio leveling is the easiest part of editing, for cryin' out loud!! I pride myself on my audio production, you have to or you product will appear cheap and people will notice. Even if it's at a subconscious level, people will notice poor audio and visual quality and their brain will note it.
I've been playing that game every now and then and it blows my mind every time. I'd love to play it more, but many times the alpha is really showing. Still, the work put into it and the seamless graphics are amazing!
@@cyjr2446 yes and no. It's definitely an experience when it's working properly and very very fun, but it is also very frustrating at times because of many bugs. When you start there are four locations to choose where you want your journey to be, and I'd recommend you choose New Babbage because it's working the best performance wise. You get the game for at least 45$ including a ship, so not much in my opinion, and then just try it out! 😅 It takes some time to learn it, but there are so many guides on youtube and almost all are excelent! I don't regret that I bought it, but there are things to prepare yourself for haha
@@cyjr2446 Probably just keep an eye on it and maybe have a look at it's beta or later alpha stages if you're interested (it's gonna take a few more years).
Broooooo Never thought I'd see you hop in. I've always loved your stuff and hearing your take on this was cool. I hope some day I get to hear more of what you think when it's better off!
"Jack you are wholly accountable for the loss of 2 ships, putting your team in an avoidable, unnecessary situation and stress due to lack of self control. Transport is enroute for your collection and will arrive approximately in 30 years, it's the only ship available and out of storage since 2122. If we lose this relic spacecraft you will be billed for the total loss of the ship and for any loss of crew enroute" "You better pray you get that bounty wiped of your record...out"
@@animusnocturnus7131 They even made a lore reason why nearly every ship has guns...to defend against alien invasion. Basically the government mandates that all craft with a quantum drive be armed so that if they ever have to defend human space they can conscript everyone, and citizenship in the government is contingent upon military service. The world of SC isn't a utopia =).
This game is reminding me of subnautica not because of the feel or game play but because of the development. Subnautica was in alpha with no solid story or end and plenty of glitches and bugs but creators kept the game alive and continued to support it which encouraged fans to support it and now we have the complete subnautica game and the sequel below zero. I know this game has been in development for about as long as subnaitica and this is all we have but I still have hope that this game will be great down the line.
