Congratulations.. that's great! I just had a interview before I found this video. I have another interview coming up on January 12th thru a temporary agency that is sending me out.

@@shirleymeador9956 good luck! Same here, i have an Distribution Ops management for target, my HR interview went well, next Friday it’s my STAR interview. The HR lady gave me a long email with proration question and in red she said: o A time when you failed but were able to take the key learnings to a future situation o A time when you identified a problem, you used data to validate the issue, came up with a plan to solve it, leverage data to track progress and had a successful outcome o A time when you developed a person or team of people that were not meeting exp
@@DonGeorgevichthe video seems much effective , can you share some more PDF related to STAR technique question & answer at below mail id manojchaurasia05@gmail.com
Thank you for posting, I thoroughly prepared myself with your tips and went into my interview feeling super confident. I had a situation for every question and because I was able to flow, I felt comfortable elaborating on every situation, providing more than what they asked at some points. Due to this I was able to cover multiple questions with one answer and they were very impressed and pretty much hired me on spot. They asked me when I wanted to start and what my salary range was. That was the first time that has happened to me EVER. Confidence goes a very long way in these interviews! Thank you!
Don. I had three different interviews for three different positions with a major automotive company. I currently work for the company. And I get offers from all interviews for all three positions!! I used your message. I was calm cool and Collective, and I held my own. Thank you so much, my friend, sharing your videos!
I'm about to have a life changing interview in the next hour and these are great examples. It showed me what I did wrong in my first behavioural interview.
I watched this video a day before my interview at Australias largest financial institute and immediately got a job offer later that day! Thank you so much😍😍😍
Thank you so much for this video in particular. I watched it many times, created my responses, wrote them down and studied like an exam. I resigned from a 17 year teaching career to go pivot into a different one and knew I had to really think about how my experiences and tasks correlated to the position for the interview. It worked, it was a panel interview and I was given the choice of 2 positions!
I was invited for formal interview on Friday and I watched the video and took on board all the tips you have given. I feel more confident now than before I watched and learned your pointers.
Don’s videos and my wife drilling me on practice questions helped me land a Job that is less hours and a 25k raise. Got the job today and start in two weeks. Thanks Don!
I've been wanting to thank you for this video. It gave me confidence in my interview 3 weeks ago!!!! I passed my behavioral interview!!! YEY thanks for the STAR technique. I was able to answer all questions smoothly and continuously!!!!!!
Don! I am so happy to say that I GOT MY DREAM JOB! Thanks for doing such a great things. Your knowledge absolutely helped me out over this process! Keep making the people satisfied with your videos
hey Don, Thank you for these videos they helped a lot. I watched these videos before the job interview last week to prepare and today I have my dream job. Thank you.
From all the jobs people have how we suppose to remember everything we did. It's like saying "When you were in 6th grade what was the first homework your teacher gave you?".
This is the main gripe I have when trying to recall instances at my previous workplaces...I just can't seem to remember them in a structured and efficient manner.
I wanted to come on here and say that I studied these questions on index cards with my own experiences and the interviewer asked me these questions!!! I was prepared and answered them with confidence, and guess what?! I GOT THE JOB!!! In oil and gas by the way. Thank you Don for this great advice, and to everyone studying for an interview....you got this! You're putting in the work and that means you're already 1 step ahead. Thanks again for the great video!!!
You've got a gift for teaching and instructing! Your calm and honest demeanor actually calmed my nerves in preparation for my interview. You really do a great job of simplifying this topic. Thank you!
You are amazing and you have a lovely tone in your voice. Thank you for your help. I have a behavioural based interview on Monday 6 sep, -fingers crossed. They have sent me a list of questions they want me to answer. Your videos sure do help.
Referring your videos I was able to crack a interview for PMO . I'm so glad ur videos have such amazing information. I'm really thanksfull to you , this has me a promotion to me.
You are well done Don Georgevich , and thanks from your usual support as I following your videos its much useful. I assure to those who following your lessons will succeed.
Thank you for this! Def helping me get prepared for a 2.5 hour interview coming up. Just wanted to suggest that you correct the typo at 4:30 - colleagues, not colleges.
Don, I've watched many of your videos in recent months, but I think this might be the first time I've felt compelled to comment. I've got an interview on Tuesday. Nervously excited! I have had success in the past with the STAR method and behavioural questioning, but I felt like I needed a refresher. It's good to see I'm on the right track in some respects, but also seeing the pitfalls in my answers (my lack of detail mainly). Thank you for making such an informative video!
How many of the STAR questions does one have to memorise and practice and how many should we elaborate on spontaneously? What happens if 1) we practice and 2) identify relevant experiences to most important questions but 3) the number of potential questions > number of lives experiences and 4) we end up relying on the same situation to answer two different behavioural questions in the same interview?
Thank you Don for amazing help you are extending. I was able to get a good grip when I did my interview Today. I have a question which they asked and I am looking for your thoughts which might help others too. Question: When you are delegating tasks to your team members based on your strength (This is based on what I told them in a previous response) what will you do if one of your junior member is almost did not complete the task and deadline is fast approaching and things may get jeopardised
Hi, and thank you for providing this invaluable service. Question: For the last five years I've owned a business as a personal trainer& life coach. The previous 5 years I was a stay at home mom & wife. With sketchy job history before that. All of my relatable work experience with overcoming stressors intermingle with being a single mom. How do I incorporate my strengths and weakness professionally without including the additional hurdles I've climbed by raising a son now 15 and well adjusted (with ADHD/learning disabilities) opening and running a successful business on my own. I'm job searching because I am looking for job security now that covid-19 has labeled my self taught profession non essential. Applying for Corrections officer
Since This video was from 2019 has your booklet been updated I remember you mentioning in one of your videos that some of the questions remain the same but answers are different overtime. Thank you
This is good stuff. Very helpful. Just say in front a board and the STAR method does work. Especially with these type of questions that ask for experience.
Wish me good luck working hard to get a job in this tough Covid - 19 period, already two job offer went on Hold and finally the position waS Cancel, But still, I never look back its felts bad in but i am still looking for new opportunities, one more interview is coming up in coming Thanks Don for all your videos .Now I need some luck Bless me all struggler ....
Dear Don, exellent tips. Thank you so much for sharing. I have had to do STAR Questions at Brussels, Belgium, EU post. If I just had seen the RU-vid podcast earlier ... Best wishes
I just purchased your ebook and I have an interview this week for Nursing supervisor. Could you help on this question ,Explain a situation when you felt you need to improve your communication skills how you dealt with it ?
I truly wish I would’ve ran into this video before I just had a panel interview at a company I wanted to work for I passed all the assessment test background and license check was killing the interview because I prepared using the other content he has only to stumble and fumble on these type questions I was caught completely off guard
Sometimes, I don't get questions that are that general. The interviewers really gave specific situations and asked me how I would deal with each situation. It was hard because I knew they were testing my decision-making skills and they were looking for answers that align with their philosophy.
let's say they ask you a situational question that is not on this list. How am I supposed to come up with a good example right off the bat? I am talking about searching through my own memories of the last 10 to 15 years or so pinpointing that specific experience that they want. I personally think these questions are pointless and do not reflect the person's ability to perform the job
Hi Don, This is great video which gives different examples. I have one question, I am software professional, so the questions that are asked, can i explain my college experiences as well? Or it should be specific to only the Job related scenarios Please clarify. Thanks!
many thanks. the ideas come from all kinds of places. Some come from working with clients. some come from other videos that are unrelated to job interviewing, some just come to me when I'm taking a walk.
Does anyone feel like questions like these force people to lie, not everyone experiences every situation asked in the question. What if we have not experienced that situation, I guess we're just supposed to lie about it.
@@DonGeorgevich I was actually asking an indirect question. What are you supposed to do if that happens? Is saying I haven't experienced anything like that an acceptable answer ?
Hi Don, if I answer these questions the right way in the interview, will I land the job completely? Let's talk, I have a bachelor's degree in graphic design which is an art related field with projects that are print and digital. Are these questions relevant to my skills? How do I answer them?
i am working in a situation where there are no rules, guidelines, procedures, systems etc etc and therefore no performance rating for future growth both financially and professionally...for this reason i need to look out for better opportunities....and the boss is not making any developments to ensure this happens and its frustrating and stressful....how do we go about telling this at an interview when they ask why we are leaving?
Hi Don, your videos about behavioural interviews was great , and just exactly what I have been wanting to know how.. very informative and helpful. Thanks
great video. I have a question thou. what happens when you are asked to any of these questions and you don't have the experience to answer them? is it ok to say that I never faced that situation? o just make a story?
I think they know your background based on your CV and won't ask something that you cannot really answer properly. However, if you are young and a bit inexperienced maybe you can get situations based on your experience in college or even high school that is related to the question asked of you.
Never make a story! This method is natural and feels like a conversation when done correctly. You WILL be able to answer the question. Just dig a bit if needed, it'll come to you.
How does it look if you don’t have experience in Customer Service and trying to relate to these questions? this is why i feel the STAR method is flawed for entry level positions
