A bit late to be commenting on this video now, I suppose, but I do partially want to echo what Vegh said. If you use Art to make Goodie Boxes, you can pull out a Marvel Sword, which will prevent you from ever being blocked, and you can just hit them instead of using Flare Bombs. HOWEVER, you can also make Veda Idols with Art that let you instantly escape battles, and using these you can go deep and get some of the strong armor chests too.
You don't have to have Cyuss as a full time party member of you don't want him to do this. On your way to Portsmouth or on your way back to Coule you can enter the dungeon now, and it really is a fantastic way to get early levels in. I did also make sure to hit the dungeon with Ashley in my party to level him up a lot too, in my way to see the celestial ship.
I'm new to this game and playing on switch. I am lv 26 and with roddick completed rank D, can't beat rank C yet. But all the prizes it said I won I can't find anywhere in my inventory. If it's full will I miss out on prizes? Am I supposed to pick then up somewhere else? I feel like the prize items are probably good for early game. But if I did lose them for Roddick already rank d through h, can I recover them? How can I prevent this for the other characters if so? Which inventory would I need to clean out if so? If anyone can help me thank you. I normally play an rpg without a guide then go back again with one, and I know this has alternate parties I'll miss out on first play through, but I don't want to be throwing away arena prizes that could potentially be helping my future weaker party members. Idk what the prizes are. Like medical set and nurses set or something. I have no idea what I'm missing out on is it like items that permanently boost a character's stats like in strength or defense or something? Am I missing out on rare candys? Or is it just lame potions. I'm sure the couple of first prizes are weaker than the latter but still I hope they're all not just gone no where. Is there some seperate counter I have to go to pick up the prizes? I want to keep doing the arena a bunch with my other characters but I don't want to miss out on the prizes. If someone can help me thank you in advanced.
They award you "X set" like a medical set, herb set, etc. The "Set" isn't an item, but rather, gives you 4 different types of med supplies or herbs. It confused me the first time I did it too.
So I’m about 2 hours in. Was talking to my brother last night at work and picked it up. When can you start using your item creation and weapon making and such? I just reached portsmith
The first slime on Rank A in the arena gives 10k XP, he also multiplies, highest XP earned so far in one battle from them is 60k. When he multiplies his health is halved too. High risk high reward can be exploited for lots of levels. The second fight of round A I always lose. The bird is hardcore. But die to bird, use berries rejoin tournament, and slay skins again. Die repeat.
I always did this BUT I still made a few goodie boxes in order to get the Marvel Sword out of it 700 Str for Roddick but to NOT die in 1 hit from the blood worms/or the mandrake's here at low lvs you need MORE goodie boxes to try to get the Steel armor 150 defense Steel Helm 50 defense and silver Greaves 30 defense and equip all 3. The only time the OTHER enemies here won't kill you in 1 hit is AFTER your physical defense is at least 500 points but to get it THAT high you need to LIVE long enough to actually OPEN the Dwarven Helm Armor and shield chests and those are buried very far INTO this game so that you need to be able to survive the battles from the enemies that aren't the blood worms/mandrakes here. But even with the steel armor/helm + silver boots equipped a LV 40 Roddick won't have a high enough physical defense that's where the marvel sword + using Fire Storm blade comes in.
Or, maybe don't get a measly ~114 skill points out of 7 level ups, wait until you can learn determination + effort + resilience into knowing enlightenment, then that leveling actually pays off when you do this. You'll get more level ups, with more benefits per LV & are naturally high enough leveled to not need to resort to tedious, fragile shenanigans. Not like the game is hard or needs being over leveled at all so early on either, and flare bombs aren't the only thing piercing armor: spell casters will do that too.
I thought this was the cave where the Velkeht pirates were. Walked in and got my butt handed to me by a bunch of high-level onion sprout beasties. Sure wish this game had a map system. A regular save option would be nice too.
