It’s invasive if you can’t control them. I have them in my yard I think they are beautiful. I dig them up and transfer them to my border beds.

Pretty at first... Then you notice that every year you have a lot more than last year. And then it starts choking out other plants, and it's in your grass or maybe your neighbor's lawn. It seems like the bulbs work their way deeper and deeper every year, so it gets harder to dig them up. I'm looking for how to get rid of it. Your garden is beautiful!

Thank you for sharing your experience with this beautiful plant. Yes they are pretty robust, thankfully mine haven’t gotten out of hand, hopefully they stay in check. How long did you have them in the garden before they started taking over? I have only had them for two years. Happy planting 🌼

@@mygardendiary7393 My garden is big enough that I wouldn't say the Star of Bethlehem has taken over, but the effort involved in trying to eradicate it in some areas and prevent it from expanding in the rest of the garden takes up a LOT of my time - time & energy I would rather put into other gardening tasks. I didn't know what it was at first; it took me maybe 10 years to finally find something online that enabled me to identify it. I read that each bulb can create 7 new bulbs each year, so you can imagine what you might see next year. And all those flowers are going to send out seeds that might settle within your forget-me-nots or alongside a tulip or in the grass, and it will look charming until & unless nearby flowers aren't able to thrive and you have empty spots in the grass after the Star of Bethlehem dies back. It could be that the conditions where I live are exactly what Star of Bethlehem loves, and that might not be the case for you. I truly hope for your sake it doesn't become a pest for you.
