Hey Dylan, I had purchased my VIP Pass for the Starstuff event when the tickets went on sale in January. Just wanted to check with you what happens now as far as further information is concerned. Do we receive the pass in the mail soon, or at a registration table on arrival? Has there been a timetable to show what times the speakers will be talking on the Saturday? I only ask as the only thing I received at purchase was a confirmation the order was being processed and that was it, haven't received anything else since.
Lol! 😂 I hate RU-vid commercials but this is a great one! I've got chemistry AND crystals and I still can't see the little green guys invading my backyard and making my trees grow directly in front of my view of the sky....! 😜
The accomodation at venue looked nice but the minimum two nights stay at a total of around $900 was a dealbreaker. Ill have to go for the $95 a night powered campsite (to be able to sleep in a car ) at Clarkes Beach. Wow prices have gone up since I used to come up there surfing in the 80's !
? two night stay? Are you talking about the Elements of Byron? We have booked in just for one day, the Saturday night and leaving on the sunday. You don't have to stay two nights. It has cost us a total of 460 dollars. I rang them yesterday when I made the booking, and they told us we can leave our bags at reception and head to the conference; and then they'll take our bags to the villa in the afternoon once our room is ready. They said a lot of people for StarStuff are doing that. The main reservations girl is called Kate Giddy; she was very good to deal with. If you tell her you just want one night she'll book you in.
@@thomasp.crenshaw185 I went through the bookings/ reservations cart and it said minimum booking 2 nights . If I do decide on that option ( still a hefty tarrif ! ) I will call as you said , thanks for the info .
love the "not so good with vaccines and 5g". I attended a few years ago and the event was great - Dr Karl was there. I look forward to coming back this year for sure.
Darn if it wasn't the middle of Winter would love to head up. Weekend work committments prevent it from April > Sept...even if you had it the following week on Kings Brithday weekend I'd be available...cause it's all about me of course! Maybe next year... also great pick up having Kirsten there, she is a hoot!
Can't decide on which cocktail I'd be ordering maybe; The Fox Mulder 1.5 oz Rye whiskey .75 oz Lemon juice .25 oz Pineapple juice .5 oz Simple syrup .5 oz Green Chartreuse Add all ingredients except the Green Chartreuse to a shaker filled with ice. Shake, and strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Top with a float of Green Chartreuse. Pairs With: Finishing watching The X-Files entire series in time for the new episodes.
Australian Government Agencies don't sponsor any events, on account that these agencies need to be seen to remain impartial etc. The ASA is part of our Department of Infrastructure. The correct Gov department to sponsor this event would be via a 'grant' from the Department of Science, NSW Government.
I hope there will be a stream, would have to hear Terry Lovejoy speak! Been meaning to visit my extended family in Australia. Won't happen this year but hopefully I can plana trip there around a future Star Stuff convention. You could also plan one abroad. Just throwing it out there: Northeast USA. The location just randomly came to my mind for some reason. I'd be happy to help, drink, talk, listen, drink, not talk, drink.
Sounds like a great event and reason to travel to Byron Bay - a great place in its own right (btw Dylan, experimental mRNA Gene Transfection Therapy injections are NOT vaccines - having the right to choose what is injected into your own body just to keep your job or get a hair cut is something worth protesting about dont you think?)
oh boy....Nobbys Nutcase Alert 101! sounds like Petra swings that way of 'fake moonlandings' and 'eveil government conspiracies!' hehehe. Perhpas an astronomy conference really isn't your thing Petra? Maybe....astrology? hehehe.
Can't speak to sunlight on my junk, as a "scientist" we can't rule out any benefits... It's sunny and 0° C and windy out right now. I think I know what the results would be so I'm gonna skip it.
haha a little bit of solar radiation on your taint is probably fine on the balance of probability. But the longer you sun it, the higher your chances of ass cancer. The science is pretty clear.
If being held in 2026, I think I might have to plan a road trip around it. Would be great to meet you in person and also the other celebs you bribe to turn up. ;) Jokes aside, it would be an amazing time.
I’d love to be there Dylan but I don’t think Canada can risk having 2 awesome astrophotographers out of the country at the same time! Trevor will just have to carry it for us. I’ll have a cold one (or a few) in celebration of the event though. Dr B from Manitoba, Canada 🇨🇦
Yep, I'm in Dylan. Newbie AP and I'll get my ticket in the next few days before Feb 1. Looks like some fun, but i don't think I can afford the dinner one sadly, so a standard ticket it is - but let's see. (Fingers crossed for the $200 million PowerBall this coming Thursday). Dann
Ticket Paid..!! The date 6/7 makes it the perfect birthday present. Just got to find transport and accommodation from W.A. Looking forward, see you then..!!
omfg, after YEARS of them being your sponsor, i just now realized bintel means binoculars and telescopes ... LOL so NSW like a shorentend version of NSFW ?
6th of July: so it will be winter in the southern hemisphere. I don't think that i will travel to cold and rainy australia, when it is warm and sunny in germany 😆
