I think if they ever want to revisit ENTERPRISE, future writers should just completely ignore THESE ARE THE VOYAGES and write it off as just a TNG episode that got history wrong or reacted to whatever Riker needed to figure his life out… act as though TERRA PRIME were the last time we’d seen them.

I have always felt that “The Inner Light” was a missed opportunity for Picard the gain a better understanding and tolerance of children. He had lived an entire lifetime as a husband, father, and grandfather. Something as profound as having a family and friends who loved him as much as they did should have had a profound effect on him. Consider what was done to O’Brien serving a twenty year prison term in his head alone. But by the next episode, it was Picard as usual.

I so wish Voyager had had whiteboards with every single crewmember, shuttle, torpedo etc listed and crossed off as they were used, and added to as they were acquired or manufactured. Threshold's story line was dropped because most ST fans want to ignore that the episode ever happened. Also, the Warp Scale has been revised several times over the past 58 years. Initially, it was just a multiple of light speed. That didn't last long, and became a square of light speed. Then it became a cube of light speed, then it became a logarithm with Warp10 being infinite speed. It has recently been revised again, such that in recent times, Warp13 is possible again. And then there is transwarp, a maguffin invented for the USS Excelsior in The Search for Spock. The whole franchise is science fantasy, so geeks like me who think about this too much avoid talking about it much with non-Trekkies.

An intriguing plot about changeling's was quickly put to rest in favor of cramming the og Queen and human-turned-Borg into the last two episodes, leaving me feeling rushed and somewhat underwhelmed. While the Jurati Borg, the ally, friendly Borg is fresh new and unexplored. I think both could have made a good full season, if you're going to bring back the threat of the old Borg, why wait till almost the last two episodes? They could have kept it in the present, making it a more heartfelt Tuvok-Kes story of him connecting to her true self, helping her find a way. Warp 9.9 sustainable wasn't possible back then because at the time Voyager/the Intrepid class was the most advance ship in Starfleet at the time and she could cruise at Warp 9.975 for about 13 hours before she would have to slow down. But even then there's nothing that could have stopped them from once or twice a season cruising at 9.975 for those 13 hours, drop to a lower speed until they could do it again and just repeat the process, which while not sustained would still have decreased their overall journey timie significantly. The idea of the Warp Scale at that point was more that every single numerical jump was an exponential leap for in speed in comparison to the points between 9 and 10. That's not to add into that transwarp etc which isn't tech that The Federation had at the time, but other species, like The Borg had, and they no doubt got it from a race that they had assimiliated. Speaking of the Borg, while I do believe they were overused on Voyager, I honestly think the worst thing that happened to them on Voyager was that they were meant to be the Big Bad of Trek that took entire factions to unify in order to even stand the slighest chance of beating, but Voyager managed to beat them numerous times all by themselves on the Borg's home ground, eventually ending up with Janeway killing the Borg Queen, which in theory should have ended them. I also feel like Voyager would have been a great series to close out the Conspiracy ark. It was said at the end of the episode that they sent a message into deep space, well that message could have been the Delta Quadrant and you could of had Janeway and the crew deal with it, as from the Alien's perspective they know where Earth is and while the original invasion was halted by Picard and the crew of the Enterprise, here's another Federation ship alone in their part of space, if they could take that over and get back to Earth, there would be functions where the crew would be paraded around, perfect opportunity to start it up again but they never did it. Off screen, the DS9 relaunch novels had them be offshoot variants of The Trill and in Star Trek Online they were created by the Iconiians to control the Vaadwaar, another race that should have had a follow up on Voyager but never were. As for the Enterprise finale, I've always said that that episode would have been perfectly fine had it been the penultimate episode of the series and not the actual finale. I think if they had done that, people would have been far more receptive to it, instead of it being the final ever episode of the show.

My problem with Threshold is that The Doctor was able to reverse the effects on Janeway and Paris. It was so incredibly easy and mundane that it was done off screen during a commercial break with presumably little time passing on the ship. So if it was that easy to reverse the effects, then just Warp 10 yourselves back home and let The Doctor, who would be unaffected by the "evolution" change everyone back. Simple.

When I first saw DSC S3, the two things I was thinking were, "the Borg don't need to use conventional warp drives, why didn't they assimilate the galaxy?" and, "the Romulans don't use the same kind of warp engines, why were they also affected?" Picard s2 and s3 answered the question about the Borg, by basically wiping them out. Still don't know the answer to the Romulan question though. Why didn't they share the singularity drive?

Actually the cause of the burn is really good on a deeper level when you really think about it. It's the result of cause and effect of manipulating time. Remember if not for the Red Angels interference the Kaminar would not have became spacefaring but would have stayed enslaved most likely with Saru being the only one to ever leave. Discovery's and Burnham's (Red Angel) manipulating time caused the burn.

There was an episode of TNG where the discover a wrecked ship with just one survivor, a young boy. The boy is afraid he was responsible for the destruction of his own ship. But in the end, the boy shares an observation with Data that allows Data to realize the mistake the wrecked ship made, ond this saves The Enterprise. I wished they had included a line from Picard to the Boy. "Well, it seems not only were you not responsible for the destruction of your ship, but you just saved this ship from suffering the same fate.

AS for Learning Curve, I never got the impression that the divergence of intense opinion about the merits of effectively continuing the war against the Cardassians pitted Maquis and Starfleet personnel against each other on a personal level. Perhaps the extended time on a ship with relatively relaxed rules made adapting to Voyager rules a bit stressful, but Learning Curve made clear that the animosity was against Tuvok's harsh discipline rather than any kind of rage against those who were presumed guilty of collaborating with the 'dirty beast' Cardassians. IF there had been a Cardassian in board, especially if s/he had been an officer there would have been an engaging protracted conflict...

I'll go with Non Sequitur, the episode where Harry gets mysteriously home. There's no sign of any conflict in him, no explanation about why the kid who wanted to go home suddenly wants to go back. The Enterprise finale would have been a great ordinary episode (with some minor tweaking). The problem was, it was the finale. Also agree w/ the Short Treks (I hope they return under someone who actually understands the assignment) and everything "Picard". We can all agree season 3 of Picard was the best one, but it would be nice to pull something good out of seasons 1&2, and there's at least something there to work with.

I kind of disagree with the Burn. Personally, I think what they were aiming for, that the Burn was a tragic accident is far more interesting conceptually than if it had been an enemy act or something. Personally, while I do think it could've been executed much better the principle behind it was interesting.

11:13 - The season finale of Enterprise was fixed in the novels, and I think really well. The setup is basically Jake Sisko uncovers records of what actually happened, showing Riker's holodeck simulation was intentionally misleading - and Trip didn't die. His death was faked so he could go on a long-term undercover mission.

Think about the sulu show that never came, but an excelsior short trek could had be awesome, worf doing some soul searching, Jake doing some investigative journalism, harry kim trying to fit back into a new command , captain Bateson and the Bozeman fitting into a new time. So many missed opportunities that could had been developed and never seems to have crossed creative minds.

The beauty of the non-canon Star Trek novels they take some of those story lines and give them a nice twist. The DS9 novel Unity by S. D. Perry, states that the aliens from conspiracy are natural enemies of the Trill symbionts, they do a take over of Bajor and at the same time bring the Jem'Hadar that disappeared in the wormhole during Sacrifie of Angels. It was a good story I know its not canon but it also brought Odo and Sisko back to DS9. Sorry about the spoiler

I'd definitely like to see Star Trek Legacy happen and tie up those loose ends during it's run. Along with Jiradi's borg, I think Westley needs a proper ending. I've had this holodeck episode in my head where Jack is going thru old logs with TNG footage of his family turned holodeck program. At the end, he asks the computer to simulate what Westley would look like now, then ends the program with Wil Weaton remaining and just says, "Hey Bro." as the episode ends. I know it's kind of out of charater for Westley, but it would totally be on brand for Wil Weaton. 😂

I agree, Threshold is a wasted idea but could have been explored more (if you take the "evolution" stuff out of the equation.) Janeway missed opportunities; even "Q" offered them a quick trip back home, but she refused. They missed additional opportunities to develop further things like Quantum Slipstream (after learning from their mistakes in "Timeless"). And then there's Transwarp. Maybe they could have built a fleet of shuttles, enough to house the entire crew compliment, if they couldn't adapt Transwarp to Voyager itself. But...in the end transwarp got them home anyway. I think even a repetition of the Traveller idea from "Where No one has gone before" could have been used, but perhaps a "there's no place like home" thought was a bit too cliched.

I have head canon theory that T'Kon and Iconia are the same (Ticon). Or specifically later is distorted version of the descendent. At the same time there is a lot of proves that Progenitors and Preservers are just different faction of Iconians. Who attempted to preserve culture in different way. First terraformed countless planets to M standard, seeding it with life what should develop similar form as them. When the later collected and stored in own (and by extend everyone) DNA knowledge about lost cultures. I personally believe that Sphere Builders also were Iconians, just at the time paralel version was created due to possible creator conflict with Lary Niven. But seriously. Kzinti and Xindi are extremely similar in promise.

Voyager as a series was a wasted premise. Instead of chasing Maquis into the Badlands, they should have been hunting down some kind of scanner anomaly, something resembling a cloaked ship. Once on the other side of the galaxy, we'd find out that it was a Romulan ship. The three Romulans would have to join up with the Starfleet ship since their small spy ship would never make it home on its own. There would be far more conflict amongst the crew for a while, but there would be change. The Romulan captain would become Voyager's second-in-command, and he'd start hanging out with Tuvok and learning about their Vulcan heritage. They would stick to the concept of limited amounts of supplies like Photon Torpedoes and shuttles, so they'd have to use the Romulan ship's cloaking device on Voyager to get them out of scrapes. There was an episode where Janeway had a terminal illness and was put in stasis only to be brought out close to the end of the episode with no mention about her illness ever again, this time put her in until they get back to Earth. Put the Romulan in command, get him to start doing things the Federation way and thereby understand humanity better. He'd also start using Vulcan training to purge his emotions. The Romulan crew would be drastically changed people by the time they get back to the Alpha Quadrant.

The frustrating thing about “That Hope is You” pt. 2 is that it’s a waste of not just 1, but 2 excellent premises. The Burn, and event that wiped out most of the preexisting intergalactic civilizations and made FTL travel much more difficult? Excellent idea. Being trapped on a rotting ship with a sheltered person who doesn’t know about the world outside the ship and they have to get through to them or they’re gonna die? Excellent idea. Combining the two? Awful idea.

Warp speed as I understand it is a cubed factor of the speed of light = c ------> As in E = m * c squared Warp 1 cubed is the speed of light = 1 c pr second - Cochrane first trip from Earth to the Moon - 300000 km = 1 second Warp 5 cubed is the speed of light = 125 c pr second - Trip to Alpha Centauri 125 / 4.3 = 0,0344 * 365 days = 12,5 days Warp 10 cubed is the speed of light = 1000 c pr second - Voyager was 70 years from home = 70000 light years The Warp Field as I understand it deflects electro magnetic radiation and ionized particles in front of the Space ship The Nacelles 'Pylons' scoop up plasma from that Warp field, brake it down and redirect the plasma into the Warp Core At Warp 10 the Warp Field can't physically deflect any more plasma - It becomes the light speed barrier. Next step is to develop the Space Folding technique that Q and the Caretaker entities uses - Just move everything... Am I with this 'Star Trek theory' in the Lore Ballpark?

#1 is the #1 produced episode in the Star Trek franchise: The First Federation of Balok. Incredibly advanced, friendly, respects humans....completely ignored in the Star Trek Universe. Would have come in very handy as an ally to save the galaxy about 200 times. They were physical huminoids, and destruction of the galaxy or quadrant would have affected them...and they would have known about it long before Kirk, Picard, Sisco, Janeway, Archer, Burnham, Pike would have.... Thus the reason GR dropped it for an episode reset on closing titles...tune in next week when we are powerful and advanced again. Faster than a speeding bullet. Able to leap tall orbits in a single bound. #2 Planet Gateway. If there was anything they found that could destroy or fix the galaxy it was that. Many a time travel crisis, yet nobody ever says....hey remember that glowing rock doughnut. Eventually remembered by a prequel/postquel in Discovery of the 32nd Cen...but only really as a fan service conversational easter egg. The You Cant Use Warp, global warming episode of TNG. Like celebrities and politicians of our era and the 90s....we shouldn't use high warp as we're destroying the galactic ether/atmosphere with it. Remembered once more in a script and then as forgotten as when a pop star or climate czar jumps on a private or 1st Class commercial jet and flies tens of thousands of kms to talk to a crowd that did the same for 20 minutes....easily done on Zoomcalls.

Redoing the Warp scale was stupid because you could keep getting faster and faster ships without having to use a bunch of decimal places. The old scale allowed you to keep getting faster as technology improved but locking the scale in acts like “technology will never get better so we can set the scale at 10 now”. It’s stupid.
