Hey, they actually have the shuttle bay doors closed now!! It only took them about 900+ years to do it.

We finally know how the Discovery will warp with detached nacelles. The nacelles stick so it's like the warp nacelles wont leave behind the ship.
@Alfapiomega
@Alfapiomega 3 года назад
The question though is why have it detached then? I was wondering about this for some time now but if they are detached and during warp they attach... What's the point?

@@Alfapiomega didn't they say it was for better maneuverability? I would imagine its better to be able to turn the whole engine (like an outboard engine on a boat) than to deflect the outflow (sort of like a rudder) and lose energy. That being said, we haven't seen the nacelles move at all (aside from moving in and out), let alone at different angles to the secondary hull.

Detached warp nacells are like regular warp nacells but more complicated. Why bring them closer to she ship to attach when they could, oh I don’t know, always be attached?

Hey they live in a time of “programmable matter” and site to site transport. U would wonder that how they were beaming from planet to planet in the 24th century, in a thousand years u would think they wouldn’t even need starships.

I mean, you know the true answer right? Because whoever came up with this stuff just didn’t care about practicality or realism. They’re the same people who thought turbolift shafts too large to even fit in the ship were a good idea.

Kind of a low blow to be having a quote from Gene Roddenberry when al they've been doing with this show is shitting on his grave and fucking up what he created. They've already shown they don't really give a fuck about his legacy.

More convenient i mean... They've been using stamets lately so let him have a break and its also to show i guess the 'new' warp animation AND the doors at the back of the ship.
@walterdayrit675

@@kyt895 Actually, Book can also run the spore drive now. There is no reason for Stamets to operate it exclusively.

@ColinPMcEvoy

Because Star Trek, you have to end with a warp. The Spore Drive is great but from what I understand they have a finite supply of spores to use, so it’s limited to when they need it.

The A designation suggests that it's a new ship. Different from the previously designated NCC-1031 starship. But, it's a refit of the original spaceframe. Therefore, the A designation is yet another reason why this show is hot garbage.

I dont agree, look at the USS Enterprise, then look at the USS Enterprise A, nothings changed but the nacelles and deflector dish. With Discovery, it was just the nacelles and deflector dish as well, not to mention the most recent tech
