Picard facing down Locutus is the last demon he needs to defeat to be whole. S1 he wrestled with his terminal illness. S2 he faced the death of his mother and the self-coping mechanism by distancing himself from his father. Terry is very subtlety adding value to those first 2 seasons that die-hard fans want to write off.

The Enterprise here is actually the 1701-A which Jack calls Kirk's ship, which Kirk and crew saw at the end of The Voyage Home, and Kirk was its first captain. The original 1701 exploded in Search for Spock. So it was actually the second version of the 1701 refit (now as dash A but looked similar to the refit version).

Everything shown in Star Trek Picard Season 3 Episode 6 about the NCC 1701-A is actually correct because that ship was captained by James Kirk and no one else. The original NCC 1701 was destroyed back in the film The Search for Spock. The ship shown here in the museum is correctly labeled as "Kirk's Enterprise" because he was the only captain of that particular ship (1701-A), so what Jack said in Star Trek Picard Season 3 Episode 6 is actually accurate.

Yes... The original constitution displayed in the museum is NCC-1975. USS New Jersey. If you wanna know where that comes from, look up the birth date and place for producer Terry Matalas.

The refits parts could have been saved and rebuilt on a new frame. What they took off during the 18 month refit so it may still exist. As a kid in the sand box days. I said that every thing the took off the original was sold to a race of scrappers who resold the parts to a race who was using the part to build their own constitution class ships and the refit ended up fighting the ship and eventually captured the vessel. Who knows they could have read my childhood mind don't ask how the Refit and the A ended up serving together. Let's just say time traveling aliens are involved. Spock took the Refit and Kirk took the A the A was the ship in better condition and better crewed.

@@procta2343 the good thing about Data is that since he's an android, a younger actor can play him and they can say he upgraded his body or whatever. But I guess they don't want another to play him....they have to though if Data is to appear in star trek going forward, which I think he should, and Brent Spiner is getting older. 🙂

I think the dialogue about passing your best qualities on to the next generation from Soong and Geordie fit well with the museum ships and the fact that the Titan is a mash up of old and new designs, and brought out the theme of the show

The Enterprise we saw was NCC 1701-A. The 1701 blew up in the atmosphere of the Genesis planet and the 1701-A was decommissioned.

@@RGMerkel I didn’t give a time for when the 1701-A was decommissioned, I was simply pointing out that the narrator of the video misidentified which Enterprise was represented in the last episode of Picard. When the Titan arrives at the museum of famous starships the Enterprise 1701-A was represented because the 1701 was destroyed in the movie, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.

It was a Buck Rogers adaptation from a pair of 1920s novels that are the fountainhead of US grown Sci Fi. Same is true of Andromeda. If some of the movie/episode plots seem retreads of Star Trek, well that's because at least five plots for TOS come from Nowlan novels and comics....such as The Red Hour. Omega Glory is all but copied from Nowlan. She did have some reason to have that particular crewmember shot. It was questioning her competence and was in the middle of suggesting that she should be replaced. It was though a very Klingon thing to do.

You mentioned that the TNG cast seem complete now they are together in some capacity. In my opinion, it doesn't seem complete without the Enterprise D. Many will say that it's just a ship, but it is in a sense a character just like the rest in TNG. I was hoping to see it in this episode since Picard season 2 states that the saucer is housed at the Fleet Museum. My prediction is that the Enterprise D will be restored by Geordi. A few clues I noticed. One is that Picard wanted to give the Enterprise D painting to Georidi stating he would love it. Another clue is that in the first episode, Riker notices the many Eaglemoss Ds in Guinan's bar and is offended when the bartender says nobody wants the fat one. A third clue I noticed is when Geordi's daughter asks her dad about what is hidden in one of the Fleet museum's bays. Geordi quickly quiets her. My prediction is that the Enterprise D will be restored and unveiled at Frontier Day and join the rest of the legendary ships at the museum.

Given the hints we have seen so far (the painting in ep 1, "What is in hanger 12?"), I suspect you will be right in your prediction. Another big hint: We are told that all current starships are networked together at close range, creating a vulnerability similar to what wrecked the other ships in Battlestar Galactica (2003) during the Cylon blitz, where only the Galactica survived because it was so old that it had no network capability. This puts the Enterprise D in the same position as the Galactica to be the only ship capable of mounting a defense.

So Shatner, wrote himself back to life. Chronically he would be the appropriate age to reprise Kirk one last time. My theory is he will be back, to command the enterprise A. Worf will take the Defiant, Janeway and Seven will be back on Voyager and the rest of TNG cast will be on some sort of rebuilt or refit enterprise “d”. That it will end with a giant fan service show up, just Marvels EndGame. And you know what? It would be bloody awesome.

That was the flaw in Battlestar Galactica version 2. Galactica survives because it is being decommissioned and didn't get the new SkyNet style computer systems. A great plot device to allow producers to use 20th century bridge equipment as props instead of fancy TNG style computer props.

I cant lie, I had no expectations for this show, but this specific season has given me so many member berries and all the great feels. This is what the next generation movies should have been like. I. Just happy the cast ia coming back like this. And I'm expecting to see Wesley. There has to be a reason he popped up and took Datas daughter. And this is closely involving his mother and Brother. Let's hope theres still some Wesley left in there.

Please fix the errors in your video. The Constitution class ship in the fleet museum is the New Jersey, not the Enterprise. Secondly, the HMS Bounty, while it appeared in Star Trek III the Search for Spock, it didn't actually arrive on Earth until Star Trek IV The Voyage Home. That movie came out in 1986, not 1984.

[I had posted this in the Popcast Unleashed's 2-hour review video for Episode 6 just a bit ago.] Hmmm...I was looking at the end credits for episode 6 and I noticed something that I hadn't before. One of the LCARS shows Starbase 1 with a small group of ships in what looks like orbit around it. Judging by what we see they are the Defiant, the Enterprise-A, the Voyager, and one other ship (the NX-01 or more likely the Titan-A). (Most of) These ships we were specifically shown at the Museum in this episode. Will these ships be 'mobilized' by our heroes on the Titan and sent to Starbase 1 to interfere with whatever is being planned for Frontier Day? If I recall from the trailers, the entire active Starfleet was shown at Starbase 1, along with some fireworks, which has to be for Frontier Day

The Star Trek TOS accurate canonical constitution class is the The USS New Jersey NCC 1975. Kirk's Enterprise the USS Enterprise NCC 1701-A was displayed.

The Daystrom research facility has been in existence for at least a 150 years. During the Dominion war when the federation was reaching critical junctures and many defeats by the hands of the Jem-Hadar WHY weren't some of these "off-tech" research projects utilized in defeating the Dominion (especially in the earlier days of the war)?? The portal weapon for example. Or the cloaking tech that was tested by the USS Pegasus??

@@ThePopcast - Absolutely not true in this case. The story in the book is too rich to ignore. There's the history of Raffi's and Picard's trusting relationship, which explains why Raffi was so angry with Picard for resigning, and blowing up Raffi's career. And then there's the history of Picard's fractious relationship with Admiral (then Captain) Clancy, which gives more depth to their conflict in the first season. EVERY fan must read "The Last Best Hope". No excuse not to. What's more, the book's events are canon. It's from this book that we know that Worf was at one time captain of the Enterprise.

It's very curious that both here and on the "Unleashed" channel, Alton Soong's blurb about "addition" is either dismissed, or outright left out. I strongly suspect that to be a clue for things to come. Addition is another word for assimilation. The best information we have on the chain of custody for Picard's body since season 1 is Soong and Daystrom. In his biological form, Picard was also a combination of 2 personalities: himself and Locutus. Incorrect. It isn't the 1701 that's in the Fleet Museum. It is the 1701-A. And the OG Constitution class ship was the New Jersey.

Geordi seeing Data and Data recognising Geordi was very touching. They each only spoke a word but conveyed so much (which is really impressive for not-android Data). But the most touching scene was Seven and Jack looking at the Fleet museum ships. The music from DS9, TOS and Voyager perfectly woven together, and Seven's reminiscing. Then Jack, who had previously rejected Jean-Luc's ideas about connections and the crew being his family in episode 4 suggests the same ideas to Seven. Leading to the best line of the episode that both father and son are prone to "poetic drive-by observation".

Season one, and two of Picard, gave me Trekky blue balls. Season three is trying so hard to make up for that that it’s rubbing me RAW. I’m cautiously optimistic, but they’ve already fooled me too many times. That’s why I’m keeping the Mandalorian as a side piece.

I think this episode is brilliant. Notably, the way how they brought Data back into the story line without having to CGI-deage him. Some people might complaint that there wasn't much enough actions in this episode but I think we really need this tempo of slowing things down a bit to absorb all these wonderful nostalgia pack full Easter eggs. Reflection on how good it was to reconnect with our old & dearest friends, on parents and offsprings dynamic. I'm so sick & tired of people think it's the end of the world if the current episode didn't outdo the previous one. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this one. It had the exactly right amount of pacing and I love it !!

I've heard dark rumors this week. Very, very dark ones. From people I usually trust. Two different sources. They claim that S3 is a trojan horse, and I'm not sure where I stand in this. Before I state the rumor, I'd like to point out how in love I am with this season. And that Terry is the real deal. S3 is making our wildest dreams come true. That being said, the rumor claims that S3 is just a charade. A front. The plan is that Secret Hideout aim to renew their contract with CBS and that they decided to let Terry give us EXACTLY what we want, so that Secret Hideout gets five more years to continue their ruining of Trek. It further states that Klutzman agreed that Terry would bring back OG Trek, but with clenched teeth, because he supposedly thinks that S3 is a means to an end. So that they then can finally launch Section 31 and other dumb ideas. When I point out to my sources that Terry is in fact the real deal, they claim that he too is in on the plan. And that if he isn't, it wouldn't be hard for Secret Hideout to just sideline him, as he would just be an employee of said production company. More to the point: the outlook of a Shaw-series/spin-off is supposedly not that safe at all, and could get tainted by SH suits or cancelled early to make for more larmoyant New Dreck. Furthermore, they claim that before fans fell in love with S3, there were actual plans to sell off the Trek IP to either Apple or Amazon, where Ron D. Moore would have been in charge of what they would do with the IP. Then again.... I doubt that even Ron could have matched, let alone topped what Terry is doing with S3. Maybe this is all just a huge pile of horse poo. And I hope it is. I even want to believe it.

Thanks for the thoughtful post. So, just to be super clear whoever is telling you this is completely wrong. S3 is not a Trojan Horse. It could be an outlyer of a hit if we don't get Terry back to do more Trek, but I can tell you with 100% accuracy that neither Secret Hideout, Nor AK, nor Paramount really understood this until it aired. As of now, Terry has not been offered a new series. The honest to goodness truth is that AK, AG and MP are trying to make the best Star Trek they can. They just don't understand Star Trek, and that's why it isn't good. There is no nefarious secret plans. The truth is you can't have a good product if you don't have someone creating it that loves the IP AND understands why fans love it.

And you're prob right, for as a long standing fan, I shouldn't be this resentful towards the parties you've named (although I still deem their works more spiteful than misguided). But in a manner of speaking, OG Jean-Luc taught me better. And I guess S3 makes it a lot easier to just ignore that other kind of Trek. I'm not prone to tears, but that moment with the Voyager really got to me. After all, I've spent seven full seasons on that ship! Like Seven, I as a fan felt seen in that very moment. And I'm under the suspicion that Terry (that rascal :) ) was trying to convey just that. Love your channel by the way. You guys are awesome! ♥

Oddly enough this was my least favorite episode and last week’s “Imposter” was my favorite episode since 66-05 Trek. The scene with the ship’s and Moriarity were pretty good. My biggest issue was the mentioning of season 1 instead of letting it go and how dark this episode was (really hard to see faces and scenes). I trust Terry that in the end, it will all go full circle. By the end of this season, I hope this version of Seven leaves the TNG crew and becomes captain of Voyager and Picard/Beverly retire at the château.

OK, I know, no one cares, and I'm considered out-of-phase, but I was personally unable to watch Picard after episode 4 due to the profanity. Really people, we don't want to hear it day after day on everything. But THANKS for these summaries. I am able to follow the story (I've seen every StarTrek since the original). I can follow the story now, minus the stupid decision by someone who doesn't trust his/her ability to write intelligent dialog and feels the need to use profanity.
