The son plot line is interesting because for Picard there is this feeling that Picard felt regret about missing out on his son's life.

The only mirror universe episode I wanna see is one where they meet Mirror Armus. An entire reality of evil backstabbing characters, and here's this living sentient tar pit, just being chill and helpful and living his best life

Skin of goodness? Some ancient race cast him off because they weren't pure evil enough and he was holding them back. He totally handles loneliness really well and makes the plant life flourish. Instead of tar its like... soft egyptian cotton or something. Lol

I love watching you dunking on these, and I really appreciate the effort you go to to put these together on the reg. I watched ST:TNG since it turned up on British TV (1990?), but I always kind of had a love/hate relationship with it. I thought it was a fun series, but I always thought I wouldn't like to live in this world/timeline, because all of their music and art is so boring and rubbish (except classical music). It seems really sterile. I enjoy Redlettermedia, and their ST:TNG lovein, but I like these as a counterpoint/reality check. Really surprised you haven't got any more subs. The best TNG content since the Gazzora/byroTube edits. Cheers!

I hate how there are no stable relationships with fathers in the future. Vader was a bad father, Solo was a bad father, Kirk was an absent father, Picard fucking around, Worf fucked around. Sisko was there, but he had his second child in season 7 because he "forgot his injection that month", so that's not ideal either. Sci fi writers hate responsible father figures. Is it simply for the drama? It's overused.

It's a feature of traveling men. My own father had at least two other families that we know of. And there are numerous articles (such as at GoodMen) about the high divorce rate of military men. Being separated for months, relatively low pay for the first decade, the stress of potentially being widowed during war time all are unique stressor. I take it more of a reflecting off reality than an attack on men. And I'm easily triggered by attacks on men these days. I've been hypersensitive since the gillette commercial. I use Dollar Shave these days. I won't buy a gillette the rest of my life unless they made an equally large commercial with a sincere apology.
@DblOSmith
@DblOSmith Год назад
@@macmcleod1188 thanks for responding. I don't think it's an attack on men. I think it's just lazy storytelling. It's a trope. It's boring and overdone. And you'd think 300 years into the future, we'd have effective male and female contraception, but I guess not since no one uses it.
@macmcleod1188
@macmcleod1188 Год назад
@@DblOSmith The biggest issue with that being bad about using birth control is selected for. In fact, all my friends and acquaintances who have more than 2 kids were all sloppy about birth control (and several were notably horny sex types). Of course, I don't know many mormons or catholics. With STD's, use of birth control should be much more common.

Robert, Nick, thank you for your funny TNG reviews. I can say I agree with almost everything you said there, and I think the original screenwriters should have hired you, too bad you were like what, 5(I think) when the show was originally aired😂. But that way the show would have been cooler and much better thought out. Maybe you fellas should think about doing more Star Trek, would have been awesome. P.S. I especially liked Nick’s poetry in schisms, watched that review for over 20 times🤣.

Would have been more interesting if Bok actually created Jason somehow from Picard's and Miranda's DNA including the degenerative disease so Picard will have to watch Jason wither away, but it doesn't work out because Picard and Jason never emotionally connect.
