Meow Jen, I fully agree! Greetings from Switzerland. ^^ My favorite soundtracks in the golden era of Trek were Scorpion, Best of Both Worlds, and Call to Arms. Equally balanced VOY, TNG and DS9. :) Honorable mentions I think are the VOY pilot episode "Caretaker" soundtrack as well as the Inner Light from TNG.
The high urgent notes are very reminiscent of The Best of Both Worlds battles with the Borg. I love star treks continuity even across franchises. Its difficult to pull off and keep track if and therefore rare to see
There's a story I heard as a child, a parable, and I never forgot it. A scorpion was walking along the bank of a river, wondering how to get to the other side Suddenly he saw a fox. He asked the fox to take him on his back across the river. The fox said no, if I do that you'll sting me, and I'll drown. The scorpion assured him, if I did that, we'd both drown. So the fox thought about it and finally agreed. So the scorpion climbed up on his back, and the fox began to swim. But halfway across the river, the scorpion stung him. As the poison filled his veins, the fox turned to the scorpion and said why did you do that? Now you'll drown too. I couldn't help it, said the scorpion. It's my nature. - Commander Chakotay
Janeway had been up for a few days when Chacotay told her that. Maybe he was trying to get her to sit down, relax, and nodd off. 😴 Or, maybe he was also exhausted running on empty, and just babbling.
I know I'm super late, but I'm thinking of purchasing it. Voyager's music is definitely one of the best in all star trek. However, I was a little bumped that the collection doesn't include the music for the "Drone" episode. Especially the sad song that plays when Seven simply stares at her reflection morning One's death. I just wish I could hear it. Then again maybe it was reused in another from another episode and it actually is included...
If I had been showrunner for Voyager, I would've made this story arc to last for the entire series. Or at least for whole season. This was really a missed opportunity to make Voyager great series.
Using the storyline for the whole season sounds like a good idea to me, too. 👍 The idea of moving along from one plot element to another is inherently built into the show, and it was part of Roddenberry's original formula. But, they put so much creativity and detail into this plot, it seemed like such a waste to box up the "8472" story line, so soon. 🙍♂️
The network did a lot of damage to Voyager, notably forcing them to do individual episodes so they could sell them out of sequence to other networks. Missed opportunity for a seven-year serialized adventure in the delta quadrant.
@@Koshtheevilone Now you're just dumb cause UPN stomped The WB in the ratings. And they were far better morally. What would have been better, them being on The WB? The show would become "Star Trek: Enterprise" (which was on The WB, OK just kidding it wasn't but still) instead, dumbass. UPN/Warner Bros./WB flagship FRW. UPN had more popular shows. The WB had none. XD for 11 years in a row. And all you have is one upvote. LMAO Besides "Voyager" is much better than anything on unpopular The WB or CBS.
SO this is the best thing i've seen on youtube this week haha.. i'd love to know how you did it.. and if you were planning on doing more ??? please say yes!!
Has anyone got the music from the episode called "The Thaw"? It's played when Kim and Torres just enter the imagination world. It sort of sounds a bit like carnival music, and a bit unsettling too. I've been looking for this music for years. Willing to give a small paypal donation to anyone who can provide me with a clean (no voices of cast talking over it) version of it.
Dan Coulson they haven’t released music from that episode yet, two volumes of music from the series have been released with a few years gap in between, so be sure to keep an eye out for future releases in case the episode is on there. The soundtracks are called ‘Star Trek: Voyager Collection’ hope this helps? 🙂
@David Willox - can you tell me who the vocalist/arranger was for the recent "Picard" final season episode song "Blue Skies" - played behind the scene between Picard and Data? This is *the most beautiful vocal version - and arrangement -* of this song I have ever heard. This song, along with the Shakespeare recitation by Picard as it plays, = just one of the best Star Trek scenes ever. Thanks if you can let me know.
