This channel is the best. I enjoy the jokes as much as anybody else, but I’m so glad you get serious when you need to be. Keep doing what you’re doing man.
Death is sad. Young person dying is even more sad. Don’t take today for granted. Tell those you love. How much, you love them. Be remembered as a good person. Life moves, way too fast. Don’t let it pass you by.
The Vikings organization should revoke Jim Souhans' press pass and ban him from all Vikings properties until an apology is given to the Jackson family and all other parties involved. If that doesn't work extend that punishment to all of the Star Tribunes sports reporters/columnists.
Classic case of the mainstream sports media not being able to read the room. Was I excited to see KJ play? Absolutely! But the season and the depth charts aren't important right now.
I haven't read anything from Star Tribune for a long time. As for Souhan, I stopped reading his articles many years ago after he cheered for the Cheeseheads to win the Super Bowl back in 2010. 😡
It always disgusts me when people immediately bring up the team, and the effect it will have on them, even before the guy is laid to rest. All that can be discussed at a more appropriate time.
Those Sunday columns are written way ahead of time, so obviously Khyree's death did not inspire the column. But there was also no urgency to publish a Vikings column at all. They easily could have held this thing for another week, or til whenever. So whoever ultimately made the decision to add the Khyree mention and go ahead with this was stunningly callous.
I am absolutely so down and sad about the passing of khyree! I was in utter shock when my brother told me Saturday! I know people had JJ and Dallas has our top picks in the draft, but for me Khyree was my favourite out of all of them and I'm not just saying this, I am devastated with news! I give my condolence to his family and friends! As for this article it's a shocker it's still up! I don't know how I'm gonna feel this season watching the games knowing khyree should be on that field! Rest in peace to all those guys in the car, and God take care of their family's in this time of need.
RIP Khyree 🙏 The Strib is usually more focused on showing what team they’re on politically than actually getting things right. Even when I interviewed to work at their printing plant back in 2002 they asked where I stood politically (this is, at least nowadays, against the law). I assume that saying I was middle of the road wasn’t good enough as I didn’t get the job. Very happy I avoided it in the end
This whole tragedy hits home for me personally not only because I'm a vikings fan, but because I work in a liquor store, and I see this every day. The same people come in and buy, then 1-3 days later, buying more liquor. People can't go 24 hrs let alone 5 minutes with alcohol, and don't care if they get intoxicated or drunk, and get behind the wheel of a car because they're too cowardly to deal with their issues the right way and rather drink their problems away. If you're going to drink, GET A DAMN UBER, TAXI or a designated driver. My thoughts go out to his family, friends, his teammates, coaches and anyone who has been affected by this tragedy. 3 young men lives were taken in a accident that could've have been avoided. Just sad.
That is no way to treat a player's death especially Khyree Jackson that Jim Souhan didn't get his story straight he owes Khyree Jackson's family and the Vikings organization an apology
This article pissed me off so bad I emailed Jim Souhan telling him to take this down and take accountability for this mistake. I have never even thought about doing this for an article but I will gladly do it for that great young man and the friends and family of his. 31 will forever be a Viking. I’m buying his jersey the second I can afford it ❤️( All love goes out to Lytton and Hazel and their families too I’m just unfamiliar with them and will not comment on them out of respect, but prayers to their families nonetheless)
This is akin to asking "Do the Vikings get anything in return for their wasted draft pick?" It's putting off season football above real people's lives. Incredibly tactless and in poor taste.
The fact that this was edited and someone thought to post this (especially WITH the edit is just like bro) just shows the media and the fact that no one cares or just doesn't pay attention. Now I agree there are some questions and some BIG questions but again that is more of a late week next week sort of thing. I mean a son just died, a friend just died, a teammate just died, like hello? Plus the fact it was EDITED AFTER THE FACT. Now again if this was a pre posted article that was released before this than yeah I can see this being a poor timing issue rather than a not reading the room tone issue. Plus the fact this is a MINNEAPOLIS BASED PUBLICATION like that just irks me even more. And yes it is a Holiday weekend but again still no excuse especially with the EDITED time aspect of it saying 7:34 PM WELL after the fact. Just IDK man just IDK
Something never makes sense to me. IF these guys are still available 3 weeks before TCs open all over the league, how are they still considered "a top veteran cornerback?" CBs are crucial to a good D. No way in HELL are they "top veteran CBs" if they're still on the street.
