Exactly my thought. I really liked this scene. I wish they had just made movie adaptations of the Legends novels. It's worked for other popular franchises. I wouldn't complain if the entire Sequel era and trilogy was scraped, was a dumpster fire. Or at the very least continue to produce content and movies for "both" universes, Legends and Disney, and allow fans to simply choose which they prefer to follow. Imo, they didn't need to scrap Legends at all, it had some bad moments in it (like Palpatine's resurrection and Luke serving him, and golden nuggets like "Luuke"), but overall was fine. The EU never did explain how Luke died, so this trilogy could have been all about that story and how his kids take his place.

@@Blue-Apple-fc9eo In my opinion, that was the best duel in ROS, but it was still lackluster (maybe I'm byased because at that moment, I was disspointed with the whole movie). Ironically , for me, the best (that doesn´t mean "good") lightsaber duel, was the first between Rey/Finn vs Kylo in TFA. It was clumsy but it made sense. The movements of the participants made sense. No flare and acrobatics, but solid hits between an experienced but wounded swordsman (Kylo), and a battle-competent but sword inexperienced grunt (Rey) who got lucky. The fight against the praetorian guard in TLJ could have been great, but it was terribly choreographed (we could all see that the extras were holding back so that Daisy Ridley could land the blows). And the final duel between Rey and Kylo on the second Death Star's remains was just "meh".

For me rise of Skywalker was really good I like the force awakens but I do not like the last Jedi it ruined lukes character and in my opinion rise of Skywalker was better than the last Jedi

This, and have all the main characters be the actual skywalkers continuing the skywalker saga. The sequel trilogy shouldve been about Anakin's grandchildren and after that trilogy, Disney work their own lore from there. Such a waste.

Fun fact the sequel was originally going to be about Leia becoming chancellor of the New Republic. Leia was going to be part of the Trinity like her father and brother.

It’s the same with Anakin’s behaviour as well she tried to stop it from happening but her actions only allowed it to happen. When the force presents something to you, you are looking through a keyhole and yoda has said the future is impossible to see truly. Leia’s emotions clouded what she saw and she acted on her emotions instead of allowing her training to guide her so she could see things more clearly

Imagine if Luke actually killed Kylo, then Leia wouldn’t have to worry about that.

She mis read her visions much like her father and her actions to correct it caused it.

I think the overall Disney saber effects are the best of the franchise. They don't need to go back and change what came before, but moving forward I hope they keep it.

Luke was just training her. She was also fearful (which is the pathway to the darkside) due to the Kylo premonition which Luke prob felt as we see his shocked expression. And being his twin with the same amount of potential a almost fully trained Leia (going almost all out) can prob give a held back Luke trouble.

And do you realize that in Revenge of the Sith Anakin was distracted by visions of his wife dying, and that didn't stop him from killing a lot of people in the Jedi Temple and he wasn't taken down by any of them. You might argue: "well, he was the most powerful Jedi of all time." Well, Isn't Leia the daughter of the most powerful jedi?? Also, we can multitask you know. That's nothing new.

She trained so hard every day after school. She beated a guy up during a competition; It was the most important competition of the entire wrestling season. The guy didn't make it easy for her, she admitted it was a tough fight but she pulled it off in the end.

You keep bringing up the "distraction" thing when you clearly know that as people we can do multiple things at the same time. And even better, the fact that they are force users makes them more capable than us of handling distractions. Plus The visions that were disturbing Leia most likely made her full of angry and that's why she pushed Luke to the ground. After all, she is a lot like Anakin when it comes to her attitude. I never said she was powerful than him. It's logical to think that they are equally powerful. Luke told Leia in episode 6 that "The force is strong in my family." Also, when Luke and Leia were separated, the point was to protect them and not to train them. Leia never received training from Obi-Wan because Bail Organa wouldn't have allowed it. In fact, Uncle Owen didn't allowed Obi-Wan to get near Luke to train him either. It was until Uncle Owen's death that Obi-Wan finally was able to train Luke.

They didn't use CGI model for Luke ans Leia (like we could see for Leia in RO for example). They used old shoots of Hamill and Fisher from the OT and they kept the faces and they added those faces on the actors
