Everyone says BB-8 is better and although I definitely agree in some situations, I think BB-9E has a much easier time against lightsaber users thanks to his stun. Not only is a good BB-9E player able to beat a hero 1v1 but in HvV his stun every 4 seconds makes an easy target against your 3 teammates

He is now one of my favorite villains. I play hvv exclusively and can go 0 deaths in some games. He won't ever be the top player, but your teammates will appreciate you stunning people. He can just be so swift and nimble that I've seen people go for just me because of how annoying he can be. If you are ever in a situation where you are being ganged, just use the rotation to knock them back, and go find your teammates right away.

I'm late to the party here, but after watching this I gave BB9E another go and was blown away. The stun every 4 seconds thing was a game changer. I had a good game on Kamino and decided my goal would be to get 1st in a GA game with BB9E. My very next game I completely dominated a game on Tattoine, repelled every hero, and finished top with a killstreak of 20. That's at level 7 without a good card set up. BB9E is a dark horse when you understand its mechanics, DICE really don't get the credit they deserve for this game

The cooldown of abilities from 9E right ability does work. My Vader last night was getting his saber throw in like 6 seconds and the other 2 abilities recharging faster as well. It doesnt have the spinning icon to let you know like BB8 or Finn or the officer

Another good thing to mention is that both BB8 and BB9e recover from throws and pulls (i.e. Luke's repulse, Anakin's Pull, etc.) much faster than other heroes due to not having an animation for standing up. As soon as they land they can almost immediately dodge.

Only thing to be careful of is Finn's deadeye and BB8's cable spin. Both will melt you pretty fast if you're not careful

My BB-9E is Level 429, and I mostly play co-op. I haven't really been "sweaty" or actually "good" with him, but I plan on learning how to be. I also plan to max him out, hopefully by the end of this year!

I've noticed that you can as BB-9E and BB8 1v1 an Anakin or Vader by stunning/shocking/roll charge, jumping and evading in unexpected directions. Sadly BB9E and BB8 can easily be countered as well. BB-9E is countered by Chewbacca's stun followed by grand slam and furious bowcaster, can be lasered by Finn's Deadeye, will always lose a spin fight with BB-8 unless you shock and evade. Rey's mind trick makes it difficult to get away unless you have shock spin available. BB-8 is easily countered by Vader's grip, Palpatine, Kylo Ren's freeze and Dooku's expose weakness.

A little side tip you can actually shock people when peeking a corner with your shock prod when they can't see you. This can also be done with his center ability so by utilizing cover you make yourself even harder to hit (sometimes literally impossible to be hit since there is a wall in the way) and you can damage your opponents. It requires a ton of precision and corner peeking though but I would recommend trying it out. All DICE has to do for these heroes is 1 make dead eye not instantly kill bb9 and 2 fix charge up. I would like charge up to instead be a 50 health buff to bb9e and his allies, reduces cooldowns of allies, and takes blasters into the golden state during ability.

I was playing bb9e in HvV on bespin and had barley any health and I was being chased by most of the enemy team, the got cocky and all tried to spam swing and not block, so I used the middle ability and flung them all off the edge. Bb9e is so much fun

Also by the way bacta can heal permanently lost health (not regenerating) as well, so despite not being great it can help if a BB-9E sticks to a hero

I'm not that good in this game but hearing people say BB-9E sucks is beyond my comprehension. Sure he isn't offensive based like BB8 but he is the easiest Hero to use and get kills with, he's small, fast, gives everyone unlimited ammo, has a shocking spin, hard to shoot at, he's awesome. Hit and run tactics are how I play, just zoom around the map shocking people who don't notice me, completely take over command posts by shock spinning everyone around me, buff my team when they go for an assault but always ALWAYS running away when the enemy has the upper hand.

Literally had some random kid messaging me yesterday to throw away my Battlefront 2 simply because I was using the bowling ball (BB-9E). Apparently they're mad because everytime they go on a team, and somebody, is using one of the BB droids, they lose. Mind you we were on the same team. We lost because our team wasn't working together, while the other team stuck to each other like glue. Funny thing is when I play as BB-9E, more often than not, the team I'm on, usually wins. Told him to throw away his game and PS4 while he was at it. Amazing how mad he was that he took the time to rage quit and message me when I was still playing the game. This is *EXACTLY* why I continue to use BB-9E (and BB-8). 😂😂😂😂

I’ve been messing around with bb9e and found something, when you get flung off the ground like pull dominance from anakin when you hit the ground you can immediately dash, and screw up combos, it’s the same with bb8

Very informative. I thought bb-9e was bugged. I didn't know his shock stun had a 4 second cool down. That will help me because instead of running around trying to stun multiple people at once I can now run in, stun and run out until the cool down is finished and run back in. I kept dying all the time because he was only stunning one person and hitting the others but not stunning them. Now I'll know to stun and then get out of Dodge.

I want bb-9e and bb-8 to be buffed because if we are going to classify them as hero’s we might as well go alittle further make the up to par with the other heros I think they are good don’t get me wrong but their shock prod is what I would buff and bb-9e his middle ability damage and I think his middle ability push back should be put onto his right ability along with the blaster no heat build up and ability recharge speed increase

It is pretty tiny, but it also does regenerate hero characters health so there's that advantage to bacta support.

talking of throwing people off the map i got a triple kill on cloud city in HvV because of the shock spin. also the barriers are taller then you on cloud city so use the to sneak up on people

I’m rewatching this BF2 is dying now so yeah... but when BF2 was still alive I was a god with him he fit my playing style super well I’m not very good with lightsaber heroes and I’m okay with blasters but the BB units are perfect for me it’s almost impossible to miss lol

The smoke definitely does NOT make AI ignore you

So I get that I am here a year later, but the BB9E smokescreen does not make you invisible to AI. It may have when the DLC launched but I've played a number of coop matches and been targeted down by the AI while running the smoke. To a point that it makes the BB9 unit very hard to use and honestly drops it down to nearly useless.

Those two droids brings balance to the force , keep those OP heroes like Anakin in check . Tired of spending 4000 points on Bosk and because of the pull and push abilities of the Jedi heroes getting killed in seconds. It’s nice to have some players feeling the frustration of not moving around the map hassle free
