In today's Star Wars Battlefront 2 Video, we cover Obi-Wan Kenobi in this long awaited How to Not Suck episode! Obi-Wan was recently added to Star Wars Battlefront II, and many players have struggled to master his playstyle. In today’s video, I’ll give you all the information you need to dominate the Battlefront as the Negotiator, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

(I’m honestly extremely disappointed by him. The entire point of Obi-Wan is to have an unbreakable defence. He’s supposed to be able to outlast his opponents, not out-power them. He should have, then, higher health and a better block, along with possibly even a starcard to increase his health. He’s not supposed to have the highest damage of any light-side hero, he’s supposed to have the best block. He’s not supposed to rush forward with his lightsabre, he’s supposed to be an immovable bulwark for his team to hide behind. They didn’t get one aspect of this right. Even his personality isn’t as calm and conservative as it should be. If this is Obi-Wan, the defensive one, then Anakin will have to be nothing short of a literal charging bull.)

obi wan gets beaten by Dooku twice i the movies and moves around a lot and yells a lot when fighting grievous or ventress. they got it pretty accurately with his accurate blaster deflection and health regen. his movement speed in the movies is very inconsistent too

So you want obi wan to be unbeatable and basically have an unlimited block? He is a very defensive hero just because you are trash with him doesn’t make him bad. His block is super accurate you can actually get multiple kills with it not like anyone else, stop complaining all he needs is a little damage boost to his basic attacks and fix his force push and make his mind trick last longer and he will be near enough perfect, seriously though stop bitching because you wanted a different version of him

+Green Goliath Unfortunately, his precise deflection is useless because it don't really work 50% of the time, his pull is worse than Luke's push. In my opinion, his mind trick should disability blaster fire for 2 seconds, or at least, five him a star card to do it. Also, his saber swings seems to be slightly slower than others imo. Don't get me wrong, I liked him, but he need to have his abilities fixed to be better.

3:20 Obi Wan now actually holds the highest saber damage because Grievous got secretly nerfed and he no longer deals double damage from behind, nor does he deal 20+ damage from behind like all other saber heroes. So Obi Wan does 130 damage from the front and 150 from behind

In my opinion he is probably the worst jedi hero in hvv; his swings are slow af, defensive rush is pretty much useless in hvv, his force push is predictable and most of the time it doesn't work and his mind trick ability could be better if it lasted longer just like Reys. He really needs a buff to be reliable in hvv.

Onenooby Boi no just leave him alone he’s fine or else they’ll screw him up again. Here are some examples Luke’s first Lightsaber Strike not hitting. Maul’s saber through. Han’s Detonite Charge. Palpatine’s lightning. If a hero is fine don’t touch it.

I have found that winning a 3v1 with obi wan is very possible. It is easy to panic with lots of things going on, but, if you choose star cards orientatated towards health regeneration and heavily towards stamina, you can easily drain villain stamina. You just have to keep them in front and hold block until they run out of stamina, and keep using all out push when you feel cornered. The idea is to slowly leech health. Pushing villains let’s you land a hit or two, but you need to pull back, or else death awaits. He really works great for hvv.

In simplified terms: Play Kenobi as Kenobi in the show. Be form 3, defensive then strike. It's super effective towards other heroes. At least that's how I've been playing Kenobi and it never fails. It fails if you're up against destroyer droids or tanks. For droidekas, I just rush and it works.

Obi Wan ive found is best used when you plat him defensively. He works best when surrounded by a platoon of allies. His All Out Push is best used in narrow areas where there's lots of enemies in front of him.

They should really do something about Obi-Wan's mind trick... you'll use it and not even catch up to your enemy before it runs out. I'd personally make it castable mid-air & increase the duration of it by 2 seconds. Also is it just me or it seems like a broken ability? A lot of the times I use it and see the enemy instantly use one of their abilities... maybe unlucky timing? Right now it's a great counter to Palps and Maul so there's that at least. Palps is still broken in Galactic Assault and this is a good band-aid.

Modern Obi wan block until they run out of stamina then slash them once maybe twice until they’re health is reaching the low side mind trick then defensive rush if you strike at the right time you you can ignore there block then dash behind them and strike them down

As an assault main, I can confirm that a vanguard to the back of the head is much more effective then a vanguard to the face, as charging from the front will usually result in death, whilst a vanguard from the rear will give you the element of surprise.

Guys i may have missed it in the video, but All Out Push at the moment can not hit anything below Obi-Wan's position, and you literally have to aim it. Just because there's a giant box on the ground, doesn't mean it will hit enemies in the air like Luke's Force Push. If you want to his someone in the air, you have to aim up at the enemy.

Honestly the first time I got the chance to use Obi Wan on Naboo-I ran the one card that allows his stamina to drain slower, and I just held the hallway against 2 B2's, 2 heavies, One phasma, and a couple scouts...best 5 kill streak, but just sitting there-ever X3 ( of course I had a Commander and a heavy with me as well but they stood behind me ^~^ )

I feel like the fans could have made a better Obi Wan. Like he is supposed to be a defensive master. Not some offensive guy. Give me a Vader type health and long long long stamina with good solid defensive force abilities and strong quick decisive lightsaber moves that are better after a block. I want Obi Wan to out last and think his opponents. Just feel like this is all wrong. He also should be faster at moving since he is a younger guy who should have good defensive get always

The Modern Day Gamer I feel his kit captures his character almost perfectly, to be honest. Also worth noting that playing Kenobi aggressively is an easy way to get yourself killed, honestly the same could be said about most of the heroes in this game. Being consistently aggressive puts you too much in harms way and you'd easily get melted. The only time you should really be aggressive with Kenobi is if you have the fully upgraded Forward card and there is a narrow corridor full of enemies.

I'd love to see an updated video for Palpatine, I saw your previous video explaining how he's a support hero and it helped me a Lot. His force push is currently bugged too. You have to actually aim the crosshair directly at an enemy to hit them with it or it'll completely miss. It's not an AoE like Luke's or Yoda's.

I think the reduced stamina consumption star card is really undervalued as of now. You should give it a try, it makes obi wan able to 1v1 most villains without breaking a sweat and you can clear full hallways with deflected shots. It really does feel like vader in focused rage mode

I found out that if you dash backwards versus another lightsaber user then go on the assault or dash forward to get behind them if they always block helps greatly I always use it with Obi and Luke because it doesn't really work for others

Hes my new fav hero simply because he fits my defensive playstyle and has the best force push and block in the game. As u can (I and others have) fend off multiple opponents(4) by blocking if u have the skill.also his push can be upgraded and aimed up down or left to right.

One thing I'm a bit surprised you didn't mention is his stamina regeneration. He does already have a pretty strong block, but in addition to that, his stamina appears to refill faster than any other hero's. Hoping that saber blocking bug gets fixed soon. I'm focusing on defense for Obi-Wan, so I'm using that reduced stamina drain while blocking card, and plan to give the critical deflection card for Defensive Rush a try as well. I'm really enjoying his playstyle in general!

For GA I personally really like the card that reduces the force push charge up time by 0.5s. Technically it's not a lot, but it's actually very noticable.

When I use charges push in H v V and you can’t move forward or side to side but you can move the direction of the push, if had sith jump over me as I start the charge up and I can spin around in time to still get the push off and it fill be a full charge by the time you turn around if you’re quick enough. *** NOTE*** this won’t work if you use the charge speed increase card.

The one thing that throws me off about Kenobi is the fact that the controller won’t vibrate when he strikes enemies. It’s happened every single time and I end up doing extra strikes because I don’t know if I’m hitting the enemy only to realize they have died but then I get gunned down. Not only that but I feel as though Kenobi does extra swings, I’ve stopped attacking before to run away but he just swings back at the enemy for no apparent reason which in turn gets me killed. He will literally lunge towards an enemy after I’ve pulled him back to run. I’m not sure if anyone else is getting this but really I’m frustrated with Kenobi because he IS my favorite Star Wars character and I would love to properly play as him.

The glitch where you dodge away from the fight on lunge back in has been there since launch it does it with most lightsabre heroes it's just cause you press the button to many times. It always gets me killed.

Jack Anderson I know but it’s much more prevalent with him. I will be running away for a good five seconds and then he’ll lunge back to where I just was. You might be right though because I genuinely don’t feel any vibrations when I strike with his saber, so I tend to just mash the attack. It’s only for him too as I’ve gone to play as other heroes where I feel the vibrations of each of their strikes.

I hope they buff his Mind Trick, so that it at least lasts a little longer and deactivates abilities mid use, like if Bossk is shooting his grenade launcher it will make him put it away. Also it would be nice if defensive rush knocked people down

Quick charge force push card and defensive rush damage card are very deadly in heros vs villains and defensive rush kills most troopers in one hit with the card

Although I don't personally enjoy playing with him I like the fact that both him and grievous have a skill gap and require different playstyles for success, I'm hoping they reflect Anakin's aggressive nature when he's released because if so I will be in for a lot of fun when he's out and hopefully dooku is OP against other saber users but weak against blasters because again it would reflect him well. They got grievous and obi wan right in this sense as grievous works best when you run in like an idiot, do a lot of damage and run away and obi wan works best when you think before you act.

Love these videos, especially this one as I am one of those people struggling with Kenobi. The recommended star cards is the best bit of these vids as I'm always unsure of how to best set up heroes. Keep it up dude.
