Full marks for this fight, the lack of dialogue, the use of surroundings, Anakin really feels powerful here, doesn't even slow down when she hits him with the force push, just blows right thru it. The best part of course is the finale, the Mustafar theme when his animatronic hand overpowers hers, and especially the nod of respect for the return of the Jedi, relentlessly hammering downward, he never hits the rock ledge, he hits her hard enough to actually punch her through the stone. Combined with the red moon and the imagery of holding a sith lightsaber, it's not too obvious about it, they're not just winking at the audience like, get it? GET IT?
I always loved how Anakin yelled at the end of the battle. Ventress, a sith, defeated. Bested in battle by a Jedi bent of ridding the galaxy of evil. With a vengeance. I love Anakin's war cry at the end of this fight. The yell of the conquerer!
Man I loved these. The art style was so reminiscent of samurai jack, couldn't get enough of these. Some people say these are over the top, honestly the newer animated clone wars series seemed more out of place to me. That's just me though.
I mean, they are; they're extremely exaggerated in just about everything. This is Star Wars on steroids, perhaps more than The Force Unleashed was. The Clone Wars 2008 feels more grounded with the movies and universe, and that's not even taking into consideration its far superior animation, characterization, and storytelling.
@@dylanemery9855 I would argue the 08 series isnt superior in any of those aspects. And honestly, it contradicts alot of episode 2 and 3 while also not sticking to the themes of the film's that all previous Star Wars EU material, this included, stayed true to.
@@robertogurrola7465 Oh please, tell me, where is the fantastic characterization and storytelling in the 03 series? I would LOVE to know. Furthermore, if it exists, how can it even hope to be on the level of characterization, character development, storytelling, and animation of the 08 series? For real, watch the newest trailer, it looks gorgeous. Even Seasons 4, 5, and 6 looked phenomenal with their styles. While the 03 series has some great 2D animation, it also wasn't the best 2D animated show in regards to its quality. The Clone Wars, is undisputedly the highest quality 3D animation of any 3D shows.
I thought it was the most awesome thing ever watching this series on my iPod when i was really young but now that i look back at it I realize how it was kinda bad, it was sorta cheesy and all about action, I also think the animation is kinda whacky. Its still cool tho.
NS 1234 I think the worst thing about it was the really cheesy action and lots of cliches, there were literally clones and droids with lances and speeders which looked cool but was really stupid. Also scenes in this video when the clones were getting attacked out of nowhere and pulled into a bush or tree. When I rewatch episodes I cringe at the stupid dialogue and interactions and most of the time the action and fire fights are poorly portrayed
I’d go one step further and say Forces of Destiny is bad even by Disney cartoon standards. Galaxy of Adventures has better animation than Forces of Destiny.
Yeah, I agree. Lucasfilm went from producing a quality 2D animated series like this to the shoddily animated Forces of Destiny. It's pretty sad honestly. Genndy Tartakovsky should've been hired to do the animation for Forces of Destiny and made it more of an action mini series akin to Clone Wars 2003.
Personally I that is a naive way of thinking. May I ask why you follow Star Wars if you don't like the direction it's going? Do you think that your opinions are going to make it all be what you want? There are millions of people around the world who enjoy what is going on with it and no matter how much folks complain it won't do anything. Star Wars has always been for children and adults. That's why it's so hugely popular. To think otherwise is just factually wrong. And about the EU I will not get into it because it's been discussed to death on many platforms and the explanation Lucasfilm gave makes total sense.
i love 03 but how does it make sense when it had mace windu defeat an entire droid army with his fists and drive around on a vulture droid by putting his fist inside of it.
A M >He literally titles it to generate clicks Yeah last time I checked Forces of Destiny is not a popular topic, not even for Star Wars standards. Don't even try me with that
That is not what this is about. It's about trending topics and keyword contextualization. By leading with 'Star Wars Forces of Destiny' this video will come up in recommend and searches associated with the actual show.
I really want to see more Star Wars cartoons in a 2D style similar to Clone Wars. I've never been much of a fan of 3D CGI shows, and although I did enjoy The Clone Wars and Rebels a lot, I want to see the traditional 2D style that the majority of cartoons use.
Thrilling fight!!! I really love the 2003 Clone Wars, regardless of hate and apathy surrounding it. Even though TCW was more character-driven, Tartatovsky's Clone Wars did provide solid insight into the overall aspect of the Clone Wars through plot development and beautifully crafted lightsaber fights. My favorite part of the 2003 Clone Wars was the introduction of General Grievous and his compelling fight against the Jedi at the Battle of Hypori, which has already been canonized in the Catalyst novel. Grievous challenging five Jedi gave him an ALMOST clear-cut view to what the General is truly capable of, based on his combat abilities expressing enhanced speed and agility as well as fear tactics. Fear, intimidation, and the element of surprise are the fatal traits of General Grievous in his reputation as a Jedi hunter and believable villain. Something TCW failed to make transparent and add MORE meat to Grievous' bones. Being the "bumbling" coward vs. Darth Vader really doesn't make for a unique and effective villain---or Jedi hunter, in addition. On the OTHER hand, aside from love for General Grievous, Asajj Ventress should've been in the canon Forces of Destiny miniseries and an episode focusing on her. It would've probably involved Ventress on an adventure through the Clone Wars and participating in whatever battle relevant to her character and abilities as an assassin for Count Dooku. We'll probably get that in the upcoming Star Wars Adventures comic this year and can't wait to read it. Star Wars Adventures will definitely be one of my favorite Canon comics to read. As an aspiring writer and artist, this video has inspired me to write short stories for Star Wars. Great video as a tribute to Asajj Ventress. Keep IT up!! 😀👍👏☄
I support this wholeheartedly. But there is danger with doing this. Star Trek fans made their own quality film called Axanar and CBS shut it down swiftly (There was a little bit of legal trouble) and CBS instituted laws that say that Fan content can't be above certain quality or it can't be above 15 minutes. I fear that Disney will do the same if they see fans making their own content for free.
So Hair-raising i love it Gendry is such a genius the part where it was showing Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Yoda watching on was a little sad especially Qui-Gon he looked so heartbrokened and disappointed and Obi-Wan and Yoda look on shocked, speechless and horrified it’s like a father, brother and grandfather were watching their beloved brother/son/grandson commit atrocity after atrocity
Honestly the 2003 microseries will always be my all time favorite show. And one of my all time pieces of Star Wars media. (P.s- I WANT FORDO IN CANON.)
5:47 to 5:53 Ani: "I'm going to destroy you Ventress!!!" Ventress: "Bitch please I have the higher ground!!!!!!" 6:11 to 6:14 Ventress: "I said I have the higher graa...!!!!!! OOOOH forget it!!!"
7:46 I vote Ventress: a Star Wars Story Live Action Movie That Tales Place In Comic Books, CW Micro Series, TCW: Republic Heroes Video Game, one of TCW unfinished episodes, and chapter book memoirs
To be fair I think ventress gave him the idea to throw things at his enemies because later on you would see this very similar style being used against Luke Skywalker by Darth Vader
You have great skill of infiltrating the head thoughts. Just been rewatching this series, I enjoy the Kotor stuff I've seen, like the diaries of that Jedi Master narrating them I've quite forgotten the name of. The Siege of Mandalore the Bounty Hunter's slipped passed.
That entire opening sequence with the Troops getting axed off always reminds me of Ring-0 and it’s one scene in the forest with everyone just randomly dying without anyone seeing what killed them. It is both terrifying and amazing at the same time.
This is also why i would love to see a formative Mace Windu flick. He uses Vapad, he has to tangle with the dark side and find out how to channel it without corrupting him. It would be dark, but triumphant af. and only when he mastered it would he get the purple crystal.
This reminded me of my opinion of the first animated clone wars. If you have the 2 DVD set the content of the first disc is a believable lead in or bridge between Attack of the Clones and the computer animated Clone Wars. The second disc however gets nullified by the second series as it tries to complete the bridge to episode 3 and the second series continues with a lot more detail of the war and how it effects many characters, and of course introduces Anakin's padawan.
Besy excuse is that some of the events didn't happen the way the 2003 series depicts that and that the 2003 series was a more dramatized version of real events.
Disney isn't refusing us our old stories. Like looking at rebels we got Thrawn and a bunch of EU ships. They also have just started to make the new canon chill, not to be negative but how you worded that outro made it seem like you think Disney is pushing fans aside when in reality that's why we get this stuff we get more fans because of these shows do we get new members of the community. They then make stuff that goes into the stuff old fans live to introduce it to new fans.
Kyle Hill I doubt that because every where I go I see someone crying about how they want a old republic thing made. It's literally been 3 years since they started the canon up yet people want all this stuff that takes time.
Loved that fight but I didn't realize how comical it was in the beginning with the clones getting taken apart or that it was R4's death that pissed Anakin off and not the Clone deaths.
I miss my boy Gregor, and i would love to see you make how gregor returns to the republic, and maybe he could team up with commando hornet. May the CLONE WARS be with you :)
I think Dash is really on to something. Forces of Destiny doesn't really bother me, but the idea that Star Wars in general will head in that direction does. Hopefully, whether Dash's idea succeeds or not, Disney won't go down this path completely. But it's nice to know that fans are actually trying to sway SW in a positive manner rather than going to a Forces of Destiny video and leaving a dislike.
Dash ur a genious, totally agree with everything and thanks for that clip from Clone Wars, that was one of the top saber battles in my opinion, thanks again
I've just realised, how did Anakin know that clone was a sergeant when they were all wearing the same armour? Personally I would have given them the colour denoting ranks e.g. green for sergeant.
now dont get me wrong i love the prequel era and i miss the clone wars but i think SW fans are just so desperate right now for clone wars. now everything apart from the movies that comes out that doesnt have clone wars in it, everyone is complaining about. lucasfilm are creating a new era and that is why there are lots of new era content coming out. realistically from now the only prequel content we are going to get is comics, maybe books and playable clone wars characters in games. we arent going to get movies about the clone wars because they are focusing on the new era and things that could bring stories to a time that we dont know alot about. why would they create more content for an era we have 3 movies, a tv series and a few comics about when they could create content that literally has 1/2 movies or even the OT cause thats what most more casual fans think of when it comes to star wars. its unlikely we would get a clone wars tv series because dave filoni is focused on rebels and when that finishes lucasfilm probably will get him to start work on a sequel era tv series straight away. now i love the clone wars but i just think that we should take a realistic look at the future of lucasfilm and star wars and just take a step back.
I'm still pissed there's barely any more Clone Wars content. I was 6 when Clone Wars came out and I love it. It's what got me to the series. When Disney bought Star Wars there will be barely any good stories about the Old Republic. Dash please make those shorts. We need to show the idiots at Disney and Lucasfilm the passion and love for the Old Republic and Clone Wars is there.
I wish Asajj Ventress was in Star Wars Rebels with Boba Fett, Cad Bane, and the other bounty hunters. That way she would be sent to the unknown space with Ezra and Thrawn. They would arrive at a planet planet similar to this one. Thrawn would order the troopers to kill both Ezra and Ventress, with this Ezra and Ventress work together to survive. They would become friends in the passing years, as Ventress taught the proper way to control the Darkside of the Force and he would teach her the Lightside of the Force. Sabine, Ahsoka, and Luke Skywalker would find Ezra and leave the planet, but Ventress chose to stay as her exile planet to be her home.
I agree completely. I wish they would edit out some of the contradictory scenes of Star Wars CLONE WARS so that it can become canon again or maybe do a Force of Destiny Prequel called Forces of the Past...
