I nominate this video from 3:44 through 4:46 for the award of Most Sappy, Gag-inducing, Emotional Seventies Schlock Ever Preserved on Film (also known as the MSGESSEPF Award). The music deserves special hononary mention, and the peak was reached when she asked the bouncer whether he had a tear in his eye. Truly a remarkable job by all participating.
Commander: B4711 report in immediately, as we couldn't be arsed sending your group back for you... they must be a whole ten minutes away by now. Shifty looking old trader: erm.... yeah, he packed up some sandwiches and just ran off to the woods.... must have fancied a picnic real bad. Commander: yeah, fair enough... we've been getting a lot of that sort of thing since we reduced lunch breaks by fifteen minutes!
Hamill and Fischer lamely phone in their parts but Harrison Ford and Peter Mayhew shine as the consummate actors they truly are in this special. And I still don't know why they didn't just call the holiday "Force Day" instead of "Life Day".
I disagree! Hamill and Fisher did a fine job with the pig-slop they have been given! You really can't blame them, considering that is special is so lame and daft! LOL!
+Anai Bendai I had thought it had something to do with a Wookie tradition, and how they dedicate their lives to each other and their families, which include taking a vow of protection to all they love. This was, for what I remember reading somewhere a long time ago, was part of a 'life vow' given to Han Solo by Chewbacca, for saving his life from Imperial enslavement.
