@@nieds9356 Denk doch mal etwas mit. Wenn man den Österreicher an der Kunstschule akzeptiert hätte, dann wäre alles anders gelaufen und die meisten von uns würden nicht existieren.
Friedhelm Ptok, the German voice actor for Palpatine and the Emperor, has one of the most "disturbing" and creepy voices ever (if he likes it to be, he can sound normal and sweet as well of course being an actor). But there's a certain breakup and shake/modulation he can add to his voice that makes it so scary. I once worked as a live sound engineer at a book-reding event - and there was the Emperor, sitting on the stage, reading from some writer's new book. Amazing and creepy :).
Now I do wonder how they sound like in other languages. I mean the actor seems also pretty serious about it, can't imagine he is telling his speech in a calm manner in english...
@@Xaiclun Yea, like if you pretend to be someone who is from another country, you're making it seriously. But if you pretend the character or a person idk in your own language it's sounds like... Pretty weird.
@@supramk4A80 sorry cuz i feared the North Atlantic for now on, cuz i think there were some icebergs floating in the sea and im not noticing where would they head again
My geandpa??? He's Austrian rejected from art school in Austria became Germany's chanselor and never heard of him after they say he became a "Führer" there
The absolute best thing about this is that the German voice actor is the very same of Yami Yugi from Yu-Gi-Oh! and Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Imagine hitler after being betrayed by general just going into teh nearest concentration camp and saying "peope I'm on your side for the moment cause I want them to lose"
Most of Hitler’s speeches are pretty calm tho. People just edit a few clips from some speeches but he doesn’t yell all the time. Only for effect once or twice during the speech.
@@bennettbush3906 That's part of what made him such an effective orator and advocate. So effective that he could convince people of the efficacy of genocide. Of course, we shouldn't be surprised. We know best that people are very gullible, we see the sorts of lies pushed today.
I'm German. German audiences are aware that the Empire and the whole story of a Republic drifting into a totalitarian state is very much modeled on Germany's change from the Weimar Republic into the Third Reich. Just look at Imperial uniforms and Vader's helmet.
If you didn´t know, this is the actual audio from the movie, except the music. General Hux´s voice actor also gave Howard Wolowitz his voice in germany, this sounds exactly like Howard shouting at his mom 😁
@@DiskusGamesiirc lucas based the concepts of the empire on both japan (vader’s samurai-esque helmet, sword fights, ‘empire’) and nazi germany (stormtroopers, officer uniforms, general facist doctrine, etc)
the most disturbing thing about this scene is not hugs that he looks like hitler, the disturbing thing is that the troopers salute as if he were the fürer himself
Fun fact for my foreign friends: The voice actor also voiced yami yugi and prince zuko Edit: and howard from bbt thanks for the kind stranger who reminded me in the comments
Do people just not realize that Star Wars took inspiration from multiple sources including WW1 and WW2? The Galactic Empire took heavy inspiration from on both Germany and Japan (as well as the Vietnam War and Ancient Rome). Darth Vader is a Space Samurai! Look at his helmet complete with scary mask! Samurai! And where do you think Lucas got the term “Stormtrooper” from? Hint: it's something the German Empire came up with... Even Disney's Star Wars continues this tradition. Think about it: WW1 Germany was an empire that lost the war and collapsed. This led to a buncha fanatics attempting to regain Germany's glory, rallying behind a "Fuhrer" (Supreme Leader). Now look at the Disney trilogy and tell me you don't see it... I actually got into an argument with people here on RU-vid. They were all like “nuh uh, the Empire isn’t based on the Nazis, STFU!” Even tho they literally are. Star Wars is literally just what happens if you mixed space operas, spaghetti westerns, action films, samurai flicks, and the World Wars and Cold War all together. The attack on the Death Star might as well have been a dogfight over the Pacific. Lucas has cited multiple inspirations for Star Wars; anybody who denies this is an idiot. Edit: I would like to point out that people are fighting me AGAIN in the comments under this one. These people are honestly trying to say that the Galactic Empire was based on the US ALONE (or at least primarily) just because of the Endor scenes. Yes, nevermind that GE was a Senate-turned-Empire, the soldiers being called Stormtroopers, and Darth Vader being a most honorable space samurai who dutifully serves his emperor (well, up until the very last second). Nope, no Roman, German, or Japanese influences here! The entire OG franchise, not just Episode VI, is really just one giant anti-Vietnam War metaphor and nothing else whatsoever... Or maybe the Vietnam angle was only that one movie and the GE most of the time is decidedly NOT based on America.
yes but it was at least more subtle in the empire and less pronounced, disney just goes full on nazi symbolism which is why people probably dislike the first order, because the empire still felt like its own thing despite its nazi inspiration
bruh even the story from Battlefront 2 (Palpatine planned to destroy the empire and their people in case of his death) is based on Nazis. Hitler didn't want germany to fall in foreign hands + he thought the german people failed him. So he issued the "Nero Decree" which should destroy the vital german food industry. He planned to starve germany to death.
I remember watching this scene in the theatre with my sister and I leaned over an said "Wow that's a subtle reference" Her sudden burst of laughter and attempt to not choke on popcorn told me that she agreed.
@@Myimpacts1 You are not Germans. Germans don't exist anymore. Nothing about you is German except living in the economic zone of Germany and speaking the language of a past people. You are just dick sucking slaves to Jews. You went on a meme video to say that Germans aren't nazis anymore because you are a pathetic brainwashed maggot.
They just translated the original English dialogue from the movie, for the German dub, dumbass. The character says exactly the same thing, just in German. While it is true, that Nazi symbols are banned in Germany and you can get in legal trouble, if you, let´s say run around Berlin wearing a t-shirt with a swastika, that doesn´t mean that Nazi symbols or terminology isn´t allowed in works of fiction.
Yeah, real great when you're a 20 something german like me ad you're the first time in the Netherlands and you hear someone call you that and you at first don't get what you've just been called and why and then it turns out you were called a piece of shit because they figured you're a german, since you spoke german with your sister, that you have been visiting in the Netherlands. Real hospitable country the Netherlands.
@@martinbruhn5274A few of my best friends are German. Seventy years ago, that would have been impossible to say, but time heals all wounds. Hopefully you won´t judge a whole nation by the acts of a few people. Like i have learned not to judge people because of the crimes of their ancestors.
Something I feel is worth mentioning is that Germany won the World Cup (2014) the year before this movie came out (2015). So during the time of this movie Germany were champions of the world.
