The trick to performing a kick is that you can't be pushing the thumbstick as you press B - X, you have to be standing still.

Just letting everyone know. This achievement is super easy in the new battle grid mode, especially if you use the infinite health mod. Just assign a single phillak and have at it.

You don’t have access to the battle grid playing the normal game you have to be playing on Journey+ which is like a light NG+ as you don’t keep your skills & abilities only items you got from chests.

if you are behind the phillak right after it does the little headbutt charge it will immediately kick.

For anyone struggling, you quickly press B to evade his attack, then X instantly after without moving your character. The problem I had was that I kept thinking I had to move my character after pressing B to evade. Cal will automatically jump over to the enemy to kick.

Very easy, once you know what to do. Step 1: Once the philiak turns red, freeze it. Get behind him and let it kick you. Step 2: Get near the philiak. Do not move at all. Dont move the left or right analog sticks. Just get close enough and push circle and then square. Not at the same time. One quickly after the other. That should work.

Finally, here is the trick... Go into battlegrid mode and put yourself in a corner and let hem charge at you. DO NOT face him for evade. Instead face the wall. This way, when you evade, you will go evade opposite direction you are facing (and won't evade into the wall). The animal can't run past you as it hits the corner wall where you are and the you can make the kick. You have to wait till he is almost on you to evade. It's a timing thing.

Don't toggle with the analog. Just press O, then Square standing still as he charges you. Freezing him to slow time down works even better.

I can confirm this can also be done in training meditation customable grid so you don't have to pain your ass again in the maze map looking for this creatures and/or encounters.

Discovered that you don't have to kick him immediately after he kicks you. You can do it a few moves later and still get the achievement.

Alright the trick is to freeze him after he attack in red mode. This way you have time to get behind him and get kicked. After that wait for the next charge and just evasive kick him.

If the kick is not working, make sure you have the skill “Evasive kick” unlocked in the skill tree, otherwise you can not kick.

I swear one day I'm gonna rage quit because of the Phillak. I kill every single enemy I swear and then some stupid ass Phillak one hit killes me with a headbut because of a tiny fighting space. Then I just skip all fight scenes because heck I'm not going through that whole crap again. Just as annoying as AT-ST's which you can get to like 5% health and then suddenly the radius of the missile for some reason increases and it hits you and you have to do the whole shit again. Sometimes it annoys me there are savepoints instead of automatic ones. I swear when I was fighting my first AT-ST it took me like half an hour and then I went to bed and when I went back to play for some reason the cutscenes and traveling to another planet didnt count and I had to fight him again.

@@PS4Trophies That didn't work for me but I figured it out. It's a standing dodge plus the attack button. I would just stand in place and not move, then dodge and immediately attack. It worked.

LOL, They do 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ It's on the Origin launcher, there's a tab called "Achievements" under the game in the "my library" or something of the sorts. Don't get why majority of people say there's no achievements for the PC when they've not looked for it 🙄

The game overall is good, but the sluggish combat killing a lot of fun.. controls are very unresponsive. Between every action there are a few frames inbetween that makes attacks and blocking unnecessary harder...

I didn’t need this vid like most people, I ain’t bashing or anything I’m just saying. This got recommended to me rn. I just thought it was funny to share that I was thinking the only thing that could kick you was that big monster that has the unblockable kick, so I did the requirement on that creature instead and was confused haha, then I looked it up in the guide and yeah. It was funny too I dodged behind the big creature and kicked his ass and he actually stumbled forward.
