With the Synergy tool you should also include synergies with certain battle cards when you select a unit.

Lol Ben, I started buying Legion because I thought the Dewback was the coolest looking figure. It was the first one I purchased, and will always be a favorite.

Can't say I agree with some of the things you said. For example, rebel lists often focus on their support or special choices and only run 3 barebones corps. It used to be 3 naked rebel troopers but now that fleets cost the same I find it hard to find any reasons at all not to use them instead. Rebel troopers usually don't do much (besides activation padding and objective grabbing) and the opponent can easily ignore them without consequences. Fleets - even naked - are a different story. They are a genuine threat that the opponent will need to answer before they get into range 2. If they die - cool, they're totally expendable anyway and the opponent had to waste some of his firepower in order stop them. If they don't die though... Large number of white dice is always unpredictable which is usually a bad thing but in case of a throwaway 40 point unit it's amazing. If they whiff, well, that's what naked rebel troopers do most of the time anyway. But every once in a while they will roll 5-6 hits or at least some crits that will go through cover. If the opponent doesn't respect that, he will start losing models.

Thanks for making this video. I've wanted to dip my toe in the tabletop war gaming world. Warhammer 40k was the only one I thought there was until recently. WWII games like bolt action were nice until I found Star Wars Legion.!! I'm a huge fan and even if I don't jump in with both feet it'll be nice to paint the models and have on display. Also the game play and rules seem streamlined compared to Warhammer 40k.

Hey I’m new to this do I haves to paint them

Just a small question! You said two Inferno Squad expansions would fill all three spec ops slots, but I counted and am only finding enough models to field two and like 3/4. 4 for the first Special Forces, 1 standard and Del/Gideon for the Inferno Squad and not enough standards to cover a second Spec unit. Unless I'm being far too literal and we can just use a heavy weapons dood as the standard for Inferno Squad?

So the legion synergy tool shows synergy in a weird way, if I click on R2 it says he has “neutral” synergy with all the commanders, but if I click on any Rebel commander they have “good” synergy with R2. Why doesn’t the synergy work both ways? Any ideas? Thanks!

As someone who plays very casually, is it bad to just try to collect one of each unit then maybe expand from there?

I jumped into this game back early in the summer and I’ve gotta say, I think you just made me see why I’ve chose separatist over the other factions. Droids are incredibly well balanced as a faction and my buying strategy is basically just a collector so far because this is my first war game and I like the models. I’ve yet to buy a unit that I’ve said “I’m never gonna use it.” That combined with the fact that separatist models are generally more available than the other factions (still trying to get shoretroopers and phase 2s) and usually pretty simple paints and the blue team is pretty good for someone new to the game or war gaming in general as I am.

Do any of you use the synergy tool? Why is it that synergies don't always match? For example, Leia has good synergy with Jyn, but Jyn has neutral synergy with Leia? This happens occasionally.

GAH!!! Why does everyone just talk about comp builds or paint tips. I just wanna learn about the game... namely a unit video on clones and droids so I don’t get so confused when I’m trying to build my armies.... sorry for the small outburst, I was just triggered when someone says comp stuff and such....

Ugh i do not like the idea of needing cards in packs and a ton of other stuff for this game. All i really need for 40k was six sided, dice a ruler, rule book, army book and my list plus some wound counting dice or tokens. I don't want my miniature games to need a bunch of tokens, templates, cards that only come in one expansion or a starter box with stuff i may not want.
