Star Wars Legion - What to Buy First on a Budget - Clone Wars - Separatist - (2022) 

Just got into legion. One of the first minis I put together was the snail tank. Took like 4 hours and only missed one piece on the inside. 1/1 would recommend for first timers

I'm a veteran 40k builder. I can make a whole box of 10 guys in an hour. Took me 4 hours to make 4 droidekas. Those minis were awful to put together

as a republic player its a touch terrifying how cheap Seppy units are

Forgot how much I loved droids as a kid so when I got into it with a friend and they took republic I looked into cis and realized I love every single mini available for the faction, thanks for helping guide what to prioritize for functionality(still bought tank early on cuz, tank and on sale)

This came right on time lol. A friend and I went halfsies on the Empire/Rebellion core set and have slowly been building up our armies for a few months. Finally got to play and was gushing about it to another friend and he immediately went out and got the GAR/CIS core set. So now I'm tasked with putting together the CIS army cuz he wanted clones haha. Thanks for the suggestions

B1 minis are very well-made. I bought a standalone box of B1, loved the minis and now will try the game. Waiting for the core set. Too bad, in the place I live, there are not much wargamers, and the ones we have are WH fantasy guys and SW Legion minis available are rebels and empire

As an experienced model builder I spent 2.5 hours making 9 B1s on stream last night, then it only took 25-30mins to making all of the clones and obi, not including the speeder. Ironically those droids we still faster to make than Necron warriors games workshop, their sprue organisation has really gone down hill. This army at least for assembly I can see a lot of kids struggling to build.

It’s a good list, I honestly would replace the super tactical droid with Dooku. I feel like he is easier to use and you would spend less money overall because he takes up 1/4 of your list already. Just my 2 cents.

It is great that you make these videos as it is very helpful to have a guide of which units to buy.

I recently purchased the Clone Wars core set, as I have most of the SW:Imperial Assault components and didn't want to repeat the same Empire vs. Rebels combats. Really like the larger size of these mini's...easier on my aging eyes. Your list of recommendations for future buys is much appreciated!

My favorite new combo I just tried out is magna guard following dooku around with the protector upgrade and dooku having the force barrier upgrade. They each become nearly impossible to kill.

I totally missed this video. Good advice, this is probably the army I want to start. The Separatist have the coolest leaders, Grievous, Maul and Dooku. Also the droids look cool.

I've been on the fence on Legion for a while now. Don't know any current players so this really helps in trying to figure things out.

Where do I start? I guess that you can't go wrong with any of these choices. I absolutely love my AAT. It really commands a lot of respect and fear. Which leads me to the next unit. The Super Tactical Droid was literally a godsend for the Separatists (imo). Kalani is the exact fit for my play style. Crabbok is right, he does take a more advanced play style to really utilize. While I have the snail tank (Persuader), I haven't played with it yet, really (not quite two turns before the game had to end doesn't really count in my book, lol) I think Crabbok summed it up very nicely when he said "buy what you like the most, because that's where you're going to have the most enjoyment"

Starting the game and going with the Separatists. I've always loved the idea of a droid army and this is very exciting.

I have played a lot of games with just 2B1s and 1B2 and it works fantastic, so if you don’t want to buy the same box again you can buy some B2, Bx and maul and run a 800 list. Afterwards, you could also buy another core box if you want more B1s

Just ordered my May 4th Separatist bundle and am pleased to find out most of the expansions they offer are in this list!

I think magnaguards should be prioritized over bx commandos.

Am surprised by the bx teams above magnas & spiders. Magnas have been a auto include for me since iv bought them. So versatile. Completely agree on the b1 upgrade pack.

Just got into LEgion, as a friend had 2 CW core boxes just sitting around, so i ended up with 4 units of B1s, 2 Grevious and 2 units of Destroyers, plus she'd bought Dooku as well, so i have a fairly hefty start, already eyeing up Maul and the T-Series, not to mention the AAT, love me some hovertank! Many thanks for the list, its given me some guidance on what direction to roll in, as bloody hell is this game pricey! ah well, better than alternative companies, as with this at least 9 times out of 10 you are getting a full unit, sometimes 2 or more in a pack.

I have to mention that while AAT comes with 3 pilot cards it only has a single miniature for OOM droid. You can get stl's for other two from Seb Miniatures tho :) I can honestly recommend those to anyone who wants to add bit more visual options to their AAT.

just the right time! bought the two different sets, what two armies do you recommend to collect? I'm very experienced with most wargames, she's a newbie - so its even better if she can get the "stronk" army and I'll take the harder army

waiting for my core set to arrive in the post. As someone coming from 40k/fantasy with general grievous I have noticed there are multiple build options. is it like 40k where different weapon options i.e the 4 sabres Vs 2 sabres Vs sabre and gun all play differently and are point costs differently or is it just cosmetic appearance? can you build with 2 light sabres and and still use the gun option in the game if not modelled with it for example like 40k?

I don't think they would put all the scenario sards into one box seems like too much effort for them for something that isn't a big priority for the community.

As a Sep player... buy Cad Bane and learn to use him. It will make you a better player. All kidding aside though these buying guides are pretty spot on.

I love Maul, he is a power house and a great choice for the CIS; but sadly currently I can't find him available to buy anywhere. Surprised the BX made the lists considering how easy they are to kill. AAT is awesome, got two and they are a brilliant way, to scare your opponent. Surprise Dooku didn't make the list seeing as he is such a powerful leader for the CIS
