So the sequel trilogy a-wing is the RZ-2 model, its a bit slimmer and shorter, Holding out hope that we'll get a RZ-1.

Great review as always. Incannot understand first why they were so lazy that they couldnt do the correct a-wing for this and hera. But the figure not fitting in the cockpit thats ridiculous. Also why no rear landing gear?

The paint is nice and it’s the right size but it’s a shame it’s the inaccurate model and the figure doesn’t fit perfectly.

It's both annoying and amusing that they still haven't given us the proper RZ-1 A-Wing, and that despite having the model for the RZ-2 we haven't actually had it released *as* a Resistance A-Wing yet lmao.

Unfortunately it’s based on Hera’s A-Wing from Rebels which is basically an RZ-2. Im happy we get an A-wing but I wish it was a new model.

@@FischerFilmStudio I mean, no, Hera's (as well as the other A-Wings in Rebels) are definitely RZ-1s. I know the MGS Hera A-Wing is based on the RZ-2 for...some reason, but that's on them not the original design.

I have the Micro Machine Action Fleet A-Wings. I do like their design a little better, but it look chonky comapred to the new one. I still wouldn't mind having it.

This is one I will have to pass on, which is a shame because the A-Wing is one of my favorite Star Wars ship designs. However, I just can't buy a Sequel Trilogy vehicle painted as an OT vehicle. Did Jazwares really think nobody would notice or care?

For sure! You are not alone in that sentiment. I think this one will be a major peg warmer from actual fans. Jazwares rationale on this was that they acknowledged that it was the wrong design. They were do far behind the production life cycle to get a ROTJ awing out by the 40th anniversary and so they went with this version repainted. Definitely lazy but also I understand because it take about 14 months from concepts and preproduction to hitting the shelves.

Yep! You are not alone with that sentiment. I have a feeling many Star Wars fans will leave these on the pegs. Jazwares definitely recognized this was the wrong design but were too far behind the product lifecycle to get a ROTJ mold out before the 40th anniversary. That said, I am not sure if they even have a ROTJ mold in the works but they definitely should! It is way more iconic and fun than the resistance version.

@@kmtanner04 I think they would have been better off just not releasing anything for the 40th anniversary of ROTJ, instead of making such an egregious and embarrassing error. If they had just released it as a Resistance A-Wing, it would have been fine and I might have actually bought it. Now I'm just wondering how many years it's going to be before they correct this mistake.

@@Barada73 yep. The key is they need to push a mold to get as many designs as they can out of it which is such a shame. From a business perspective I get it. From a fan perspective it’s such a shame!

I got two. Pilot fit the first one snugly, but the cockpit snapped closed. The second one didn’t seat the pilot no matter what I did. So now it’s being piloted by an extra Endor Leia I had. Looks pretty good that way tbh.

Gosh that’s such a shame! I got 4 and two of them I couldn’t get the pilot in. My guess is it must be some glue that spilled over. I only have 1 that the pilot actually sits in there without having to snap his head shut into it.

How to properly fit the A-Wing pilot (so he can sit strait up) 1) Make sure legs are as deep into the leg slits as possible and press him down. Have him sitting up 2) when closing the cockpit make sure you use your thumb to push the canopy back slightly. It should snap into place with him sitting up (Almost like your trying to push the canopy into the A-Wing itself)

Jazwares seems to have a serious scaling issue with this line. Which is super disappointing to me. I mean, how hard could it be to scale the vehicles to the figure? There should honestly be no issues in that regard.

If you go to Rebelscale.com he has all the scales in the for the vehicles. In the interviews I did with the brand manager the scales are not designed to be perfect. They wanted to small vehicles to be small, medium that and larger ships large. There is also a cost to manufacturing and a prices concern. For some vehicles if they were made exactly to scale would cost over $100 at retail and would price out the market they are trying to hit. I agree with you some of the scales are way off. If you just look at it as the general scale you can over look some of the misses.

@@kmtanner04 Did youtube really delete my reply to this? WTF happened here? Asked what vehicles would retail for $100.00 dollars. I would gladly pay $25.00 dollars for a more realistic sized x- wing or any fighter. I understand that larger ships might go for $100.00 dollars, but not making fighters and the Falcon a realistic scaled size makes no sense to me. I bet it's because I called Boba and Jango Fett's ship the "S" word. That's insane that my comment would be deleted for that. Both their ships are almost over-scaled, making zero sense as to why an x-wing wouldn't be slightly bigger. This line is very inconsistent. Correct scaling in those regards = better toy.

When I noticed on photos that this looks like the Resistance RZ-2 version from the sequel trilogy I held off from ordering it. I would much more prefer the Rebel Alliance RZ-1 A-Wing (from the original trilogy), than the Resistance RZ-2 version (from the sequels). I do have the Action Fleet A-Wing (which is the rz-1), but I would still like an RZ-1 A-Wing in the Micro Galaxy Squadron as well, to mix with the rest of my Micro Galaxy Squadron collection ships from the original trilogy. I only collect the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy, Clone Wars and some ships from "newer" Star Wars like the Bad Batch Marauder, the Razor Crest and Din Djarins version of the N-1 Starfighter. If they ever make like a Tie Striker from Rogue One I'll get that too. Many other ships from the sequel trilogy and "newer" Star Wars I simply do not like the look of. Like First Order Ties and Poe style X-Wings are not in my taste, as far as design goes, but each to ones own. Some people might like them and that's fine with me. Actually Kylos Tie Silencer is ok looking in my taste. Not as nice as the regular classic Tie, Tie Advance, Tie Interceptor, Tie Bomber or even Admiral Thrawns Tie Defenders and Rogue Ones Tie Strikers, but still Kylos Tie is an ok'ish design. Again, just in my taste.

I was a little frustrated when this arrived and I realized it wasn't the RotJ A-Wing, but the sequel A-Wing painted to look like it. I'd have rather had Tallie's A-Wing in this model.

Yea. Unfortunately they are trying to get as many designs as they can out of this model. There is a green resistance a wing in series 5 and looks like we will be the Blue resistance a wing in series 6 or 7 as a chase/rare.

Yes it’s the 1/5000. It will be rereleased in a common pack at a later time with a slightly different deco.

My thoughts for the original trilogy movie starfighters from this series: The Y-wing is really amazing and done wonderfully from this series. By far the best design of the original four rebel fighters. I am also very excited and do have high hopes for the B-wing after seeing it advertised. It will be coming in the near future. As for the A-wing, I really hope they get the correct model from ROTJ because this is a straight lazy repaint cash grab. Not happy with this current release. The original series X-wing also needs some severe help. I hope they start from scratch and make a better model because it’s hot garbage and was crazy disappointing. It’s by far the worst of the four starfighters designs. That one hurt since it has always been my favorite fighter.

For sure there is something to be desired with some of these toys. My biggest issue I have in all honesty is the QC. I have had almost 10 items I have got with some type of issue. I really hope they get that sorted out.
