People don’t disintegrate when struck by a lightsaber. The lightsaber is just like a sword, it just slices through anything. What happened to Obi-Wan was something that only a handful of Jedi can do upon death; disappear into the netherworld of the Force.

Han put Luke in the Tuantuan to keep him warm while he set up the temporary shelter. They couldn't search at night because the temperature dropped and it was dark. Even in our world, cars won't run if it's too cold. The Death Star was just one space station. It wasn't the entire Empire. It would be like one aircraft carrier being destroyed in the US Navy or Pearl Harbor being destroyed at the beginning of WWII.

As Han was stuffing Luke inside the tauntaun, he said “This will keep you warm til I get the shelter up” and then we see him start building a shelter kept in a saddle bag. So they both spent the night in an emergency shelter.

These are called episodes because they are modeled after the movie serials from the 1930s and 40s, particularly Flash Gordon. Each week, in addition to the main feature, a theater would show a chapter of perhaps 15 minutes of a movie serial. Each would end with a cliffhanger. Also, The Emperor was mentioned by Governor Tarkin in the first movie. Actually, in the first film, it’s more like Governor Tarkin and Darth Vader were on equal terms.

@sixstanger00
@sixstanger00 6 дней назад
Yes and no. The Empire is spread across the galaxy, but none of their weaponry rivaled that of the Death Star, as it was the only weapon capable of destroying entire planets. The bulk of the Imperial fleet is made up of Star Destroyers & TIE Fighters. There's a handful of Super Star Destroyers that act as command ships, but none of them are anywhere near a Death Star in firepower.

It was originally Just Called Star Wars because George Lucas did not know if he would be able to make more Star wars Movies, It was renumbered Episode IV when Episode V The Empire Strikes Back was released in 1980. George Lucas Started with the First Episode of his Middle Trilogy.

This movie series has a rich history. George Lucas was inspired to create a movie like the ones he had seen on television. He tried to get the rights to make a Flash Gordon film, but when he couldn’t, he took a suggestion to make his own film intellectual property. It’s been said Han Solo was partly based upon fellow filmmaker, Francis Ford Coppola. Chewbacca was inspired by his pet dog, Indiana, who would accompany him. He loved race cars. When creating the character of Indiana Jones for the film, Raiders of the Lost Ark, a year after this one, he named the character after his dog.

Star Wars is actually based on kids’ Saturday matinee movie serials from the 1930s and borrows a lot of those tropes; quick expository dialogue, swashbuckling action, romance, simple plot lines, wipe transitions, grand orchestral scores, and text at the start to catch you up on what’s happening. This all would’ve seemed really retro even in the 1970s, when movies had trended toward gritty and cynical.

1. Han to Chewy, "Laugh it ups fuzzball"🤣 2. The scene in the cave is Luke seeing into his future if he were to turn to the dark side. 3. Do them in the original release. They were put that way for a reason. Jumping ahead ruins it for you and us. 4. IRL Ford and Fisher were having an affair. She was very young, and he was much older and married. She put it in her biography before she died. She got an ok from him to put it in there. 5. Hans', "I know" was ad lib because Ford thought it was what Solo would say, and required a new script to be written in the next movie. 6. Ford wanted Solo to die. 7. You will learn more about the emperor and Darth Vader in episodes I, II and III. 8. The next one wraps everything up and IMVHO is the best of the original VI Lucas episodes.

Everyone in the Movie Theatre was shocked and Gasped when Darth Vader Told Luke I am your Father. We were also surprised when Yoda told Obi Wan that there was another hope. The scene where Princess Leia told Han Solo and he replied I Know was improvised. Han Solo was supposed to say I love you back, However in Filming Harrison Ford kept telling Carrie Fisher He Loved her back it wasn't working.so one take he goes I know. He tells Carrie Fisher and George Lucas and the Director I know would be more what Han Solo would say to Princess Leia. Everyone agreed and The I know was kept.

While all Star Wars movies and shows were released in a different order, there is a full timeline that can be viewed after you've watched the Original Trilogy (4, 5, 6) and the Prequel Trilogy (1, 2, 3) in that order. From there, I recommend watching the full timeline "in chronological order": The Acolyte (currently being aired 1 episode per week), Episode I, Episode II, The Clone Wars (animated series), Episode III, The Bad Batch (animated series), Solo: A Star Wars Story (movie), Obi-Wan Kenobi (live action series), Rebels (animated series), Andor (live action series), Rogue One (movie), Episode IV, Episode V, Episode VI, The Mandalorian (live action series) (seasons 1 & 2), The Book of Boba Fett (live action series), The Mandalorian (season 3), Ahsoka (live action series), Episode VII, Episode VIII, Episode IX. There are also two "companion" animated series (Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire) that address some things that many have wondered about... but those can be watched after you've done everything else, as they only fill in a few details that won't make any sense if you don't know the context.

Vader: "I am altering the deal." Emmy: "Why?" Let me take you back to Game of Thrones and remind you of BAD PEOPLE. 😊☺ After so much GOT and HotD it was strange (but fun) hearing you talk about Star Wars. I think the brand is a bit tarnished at the moment with all the endless TV spin-offs, but back in the day it was an extraordinary thing. Yes, I'm old enough to have seen this and the first film in the cinema. In fact, I wrote about Star Wars in my American Studies Final paper for my BA degree. The question was something like, 'The American detective show is the modern equivalent of the Wild West cowboy. Discuss.' No right answer, obviously, but you just had to argue a point knowledgably. My argument was that cop shows (Kojak, The Rockford Files, Ironside, Starsky and Hutch - they were all over TV, even prime time on BBC) were too realistic, and the sense of good and bad, black hats and white hats, was now provided by escapist sci fi/fantasy like Star Wars. I knew for a fact that my history professor would never have seen any of these films or shows, so I had my fingers crossed. But it all worked out well! ...... When Luke and Leia connected with each other at the end, my girlfriend and I turned to each other in the cinema and whispered the same three words. We had to wait three years for the next one . . . The story is told out of order because Episode 4 was originally Episode 1. I mean IV was originally I. If it had flopped there would have been no Episode 2, I mean V, let alone prequels. But then people wanted to know how it all began. And after they knew that, they wanted to know what happened next. Great fun as always.

Great reaction! If you haven't seen Ep. 6: Return of the Jedi yet, then there's an alternate watch order you can try. You could do a Flashback Order where you watch Eps. 1-3 then finish with 6, because 6 is the finale of the first 6 movies, plus George Lucas made some changes in the original trilogy, especially at the end of 6 so that it better connects to the Prequels. Some fans call this the Machete Order, but technically that order cuts out Ep. 1 and we're not cutting out anything. Flashback Order includes all the movies, and even some of the shows if you want. You don't HAVE to watch the OT in release order, but the vast majority of us do believe you should start with Ep. 4, then 5, which you have. But from here you can watch everything that came before and then finish with the finale, with all the context necessary to make it more impactful. Some of us believe the Flashback Order gives you a more emotional experience. The end will hit better if you know everything. So if you don't mind being part of an experiment, the order would be 4, 5, 1, 2, 3, 6. The Release Order crowd can act like gatekeepers at times. They believe everyone should watch these movies the way they were released, which makes a certain kind of sense, but since there are so many more movies and shows, both live action and animated, suddenly release order doesn't seem so necessary. More context has been added in between the two trilogies, and that context makes for a better ending in 6. And this is not a spoiler, but if you watch in Release Order, then the ending might be a tad confusing because of the changes Lucas made. Yes, you WILL figure it out, but wouldn't you rather immediately understand it and have an emotional experience than one of confusion?

FYI as my favorite GoT reactor you might be interested to know that the guy talking to Vader in his chamber that we then see commanding the AT-AT at 20:00 in your video is played by Julian Glover, aka Grand Maester Pycelle! Episodes 4 and 5 introduce us to the main characters. You then jump over to the prequels to get the backstories before you watch Episode 6, which is the last of the first 6 movies. You can then watch 7, 8, and 9 to finish it off. Let me add that I would also suggest you watch the Obi-Wan Kenobi series right after Episode 3, as it takes place 10 years after Episode 3, and 10 years before Episode 4.
