It's time to get Star Wars Outer Rim dusted off as we aim to setup and lightspeed! The newly released expansion Unfinished Business will also be covered, including new optional rules.
Star Wars Outer Rim is a 1-4 player game where players take control of their favourite outlaws and heroes as they explore the dangerous Outer Rim in hopes of becoming the top dog of the space lanes.

I keep fine tuning my setups for every game I play. For this one with OR+UFB I have 3 rows of cards instead of angling the planet encounter decks. I've split the databank deck into #1 (x4) Illegal Cargo, 2-34 contacts, 40-63 Job Completion Steps, 93-96 Illegal Cargo Contacts + 97-98 Bib Fortuna & Kyber Crystals to find them easier. I use an FFG SX-wing miniatures starfield playmat (giant mousepad). I'd have to do a video to show it if I had time lol I do like this idea of focusing on just the setup. I also start the game and play it all the way thru with thematic ships as much as possible eg Han in the YT-1300, Boba in the Firespray etc. It works fine. The only time the ship deck comes into play is one card makes you fight the top card which is fun. I played a couple games with just the UFB cards (I actually did that it was fun. It's really the same quantity of cards as the base game). I play solitaire so I've been leaving contact databank cards face up since in the rules reference players are allowed to look at databank cards. Games these days take up so much room I also have a small Plano for the tokens. The only other game so far is Doom. I got the FLGS reputation token sliders but use the primary faction if a character has one in their color eg Boba Hutt.

@@Paulrollsdice @Paul Rolls Dice Sure. Give it a try. It’s all a DIY houserule lol yeah if you use it in a video just give me credit in the video and a link in the description to my channel. And RU-vid’ Collection THX1138’ is my collectibles and games channel. It doesn’t get enough views so can’t be monetized anymore. Old games didn’t make a lot of AdSense but it was a false sense of ROI of time & effort lol. I get compliments on them though. They were fun to do. Presented in a way that's a bit different than what others do. I have a lot of game videos partially done. If I ever finish them or do new ones they’ll go on amusement420. There’ll be a SW OR+UB video that expands upon my ideas with some custom components later this summer. I was lucky to get UB from my FLGS who participated in the Asmodee program that gives them perks. In this case the 3D plastic reputation sliders that were taped in a ziploc to the box. And something cool from etsy that will be a fun reveal but I have to wait awhile to get it. My User ID is Collector THX1138 (Collection 1138) is how I indirectly found your video. so does ambition credits veto the original credits or is it on top of?

They do! When ambitions are used you essentially ignore the standard credits handout and mission setup denoted on your chosen character card unless otherwise stated.

Are you going to do a “tutorial” for base and expansion to? Nog that there are many rule changes. But it would be nice if someone did it.

Gameplay wise not much changes except the addition of the favours and ambitions. I have played a game of both since this video and I do prefer utilising the expansion rules. Do you own the base game and expansion too?

@@Paulrollsdice I own the base and the expansion is on his way. (If any luck this weekend.) I guess the favors would just help you a bit to get that extra di or skill. I am very curious at the Ambitions, if they would help you get fame quicker if you focus on your ambition.
