Remember, this is Ubisoft, and the last five years of steadily declining quality is their new identity.

That fly into space load screen is basically like the Assassin's Creed loading into the animus screen where your character can walk around while the game is loading. Flying through the clouds is basically the same concept. You can control your ship, but the game is actually loading in space.

How, in the year of our Lord 2024, can anyone believe in a trailer from a Ubisoft game?!?

I was unsure on the tech side of things for this game after Starfield's launch but after playing Avatar Frontiers of Pandora I am 100% convinced Massive have the engine to pull this game off. If you've played Avatar, you'll know what I mean. From the insane draw distances and details from afar, as Luke mentions with foliage etc moving way off in the distance, to INSANE microdetails when you get up close to things, I am excited to see how this engine translates to other areas of this open world star wars game.

I think a big make or break element of this game is going to be the weaponry we get to use and the way traversal works. It's one of the few Star Wars games where we don't have a lightsaber and force powers to keep us interested in the combat. Just giving us a blaster isn't going to be enough. I hope we get multiple different weapons from across the Star Wars lore. There's also no force jump or jedi acrobatics to keep traversal from getting boring so it would be cool if they gave us a jet pack or grappling hook in order to add that extra dimension to the maps. That's something Ubisoft is usually pretty good at. They don't do a lot of flat areas.

5-10 years ago I would be hyped after a Ubisoft trailer and pre-order but now it's always wait for release, reviews, and patches.

Keep in mind, Jedi Survivor’s reveal trailer was on December and was originally planed for March 17 so if the drop a trailer soon, this game could very possibly drop may/july

I really would have preferred an open world rpg Star Wars game that we could have created our own character from a few different races maybe and choose our own path if we wanted to become an outlaw or maybe even join the storm troopers or something idk just spit balling ideas but I have a feeling this is gonna be a few planets with mostly empty maps

I just want a cyberpunk-like star wars game. The full customization of your character would’ve been amazing, like the alien race and backstory.

If it’s massive entertainment that’s making it the same crowd that made the division 1 and 2, the open world and gunplay should be really good🤞

I haven't seen anyone in the SW community even talking about it. I'm at the point where I'm basically going to ignore a SW project until it comes out and then wait until reviews are in for it. THere has been so much garbage lately it's not worth my time.

The division 1 and 2 already disguise load screens really well going out of the base of operations into the open world you still have some control of your character. But you can still slow jog out and look around and it feels really good.

Looks like Starfield. Open world but here are only a few areas that are populated. Loading screens between planet and space and hyperspace.

As a massive Star Wars nerd I'm pleased with what we know so far. Massive has obviously done their research as I've already seen several references that most non-nerds playing the game will likely not notice.

I'm worried about the writing. What we've seen gave me douche chills. The main character and her little pet seem way too "kiddie".

Strong wait til gameplay - and I wanna see and hear a hell of a lot more from the maincharacter to see if its someone you wanna be around for an extensive period of time.

i personally enjoy avatar frontiers of pandora and since its the same studio im pretty hopeful that this will be decent although i didnt expect much of it, the story of avatar was as known not so good but what i wanted was very good graphics, a decent moveset and combat system (doesnt have to be to deep) and most importantly a good map, which if you ask me they delivered (its also somewhat lucky tho because since its pandora you dont have to make every square inch interesting, a forest is just a forest sometimes... so considering everything, particularly the universe this game is set in i'd say its very good within that range... for outlaws i also dont expect all too much gameplay wise so the hurdles seem to be technical but they've seemed to solve those issues like traveling from and to other planets

To be honest, I dont mind that load screen from planet to space, if there's awesome content on the planets, quests and storyline, people don't mind a loading animation.

Not if performance isn't up to par. It'll just come ... and go by.

I hope they are using some of that space tech they developed for beyond good and evil 2 because that game looked insane scale and data streaming wise. sad that its probably never coming out

This isn’t Ubisoft exactly. It’s Massive Entertainment. They made The Division games and Avatar. Both are fantastic in their own ways

I could see them dropping July or September because AC Red will likely drop during the holiday season. It's a Star Wars game. They're not going to have to do a ton of marketing to get people to play.

The only reason I have high hopes for this game is because this is the developers of the Division 2, the only Ubisoft game to try to evolve the Ubisoft formula and imo their best game put out in a long time and their best studio to give a Star Wars IP to.

Wish we could create our own character. Star Wars lore has all sorts of aliens and robots, etc. But, we're stuck playing as a generic human!

The thing is Massive can build a fun open world and the combat and shooting is going to feel top notch play the division 2 the shooting mechanics is among the best I have faith in Massive

People don't realize that this is a Massive Studio game. Avatar was technically a beautiful game and The Division 1 and 2 are some of the most content rich and varied modern open world games. Massive is also great a building beautifully designed and well structured scripted levels inside a seamless open world.

I think this is a missed opportunity to reskin the division 2 in this interpretation of Star Wars. Being able to make your own scoundrel and do missions with others like division would be amazing!

Luke what do you think about the hype that is building up around the possibilities of Larian studios next project, with Larian moving away from baldurs gate AND the Knight of the old republic remake seemingly disappearing what do you think about a KOTOR game being made by Larian in the gameplay style of baldurs gate 3, i assume it would be a guaranteed success and as you pointed out in this video, disney are alot more open with what devs can do with star wars than wizards of the coast are which was one of the things Larian didnt like

I hope it's great and I wanna buy it but I have my doubts 😢 But i gotta say that the graphic engine is really beautiful! I hope that "The Division 3" uses this same game engine because I remember the studio head said that once this game was finished that they'd start production on TD3.

Either they will release this in fall to get those holiday sales which would be a good release date considering it's star wars or they might try to release it around the time of star wars acolyte. I think it just depends on when AC red will release. I would assume Ubisoft would rather release AC Red around fall if AC Red is even still releasing this year and SW Outlaws around July. There is a chance AC Red gets pushed to 2025 or SW Outlaws pushed to 2025. If AC Red gets delayed than SW Outlaws will be their Fall release. If SW Outlaws gets delayed then AC Red will stay in fall and SW Outlaws will release in 2025, but then you also have to account for GTA 6 in 2025 which will most likely release Q1. July or August looks like the best release date for SW in my opinion. I would assume Ubisoft does not want any delays as this year has good release times for them.

I want more good Star Wars, been a fan since I watched the second Clone Wars series. But I'm wary of the pricing of those different editions, and the track record of Ubisoft is spotty. I'm gonna lean on the cautious part of "cautiously optimistic". At the very least I'll wait after launch.

I think James Cameron must be filming Avatar 4 and 5, they filmed 2 and 3 back to back years ago...unless they were doing some reshoots. Edit: Ok, apparently they might have been filming some pick-ups for Avatar 3.

Cautiously optimistic however my only gripe i really have is the MC hairstyle (i just dont like it), and that the game cannot be purchased on Steam.

The Teardrop engine will run great. The gameplay will have great FPS and resolution. It might even have RT but if it plays great or not is another story.

I don't know what to think. Avatar was supposed to be big for them too but it just dropped off the face of the earth after a few weeks

Ubisoft is just the publisher this is being made by Massive games who developed The Division 1 and 2. Yes Ubisoft has input as they're footing the dev bill but they aren't directly making it unlike Skull and Bones

This looks like Forspoken but in the Star Wars universe

It's encouraging to actually see gameplay over just a hyped up cut scene. It looks great an all, but to me that's only a small part of a game. How is it going to run? How does AI respond to stealth or combat? I can see this game getting minimal amount of support because Bethesda isn't' expecting much from it so it's not going to invest much into it and that might result in an unfinished product. OR it could be another Gem like Jedi Survivor.

How do we even know that it's not a 2025 release? Or at least a holiday release, meaning December 2024. That would be my bet, based on the amount they've shown us so far. AC Red is different because that's just a reskin. Hopefully a mix between Odyssey and Ghost of Tsushima, but still a reskin.

Just wait until the game comes with the ubisoft standard "+50% money and xp" micro transaction, that in truth without those you just have less 50% money and xp

It is for sure going to be vast and beautiful, when I heard Ubisoft was doing a starwars game, i just thought even a generic ac origins style starwars was fine as long as I have the force but just playing as shooting bounty hunter in a modern Ubisoft story? Oh nahh this game will be the typical mid , ultra safe , with only cool weapons locked under micro transactions

While I'm keeping an eye on this game, it won't be a day-one purchase for me despite it being a lot of what I want to see from a Star Wars game. It's Ubisoft so I'm always a bit hesitant and cautiously skeptical. I'm hopeful but not convinced just yet

Let's hope Ubisoft can redeem themselves a bit with this. I've no sympathy for Skull and Bones and some of their other failures but I can't say watching themselves self implode has been at all fun.

Sure it could be big... like any other game that utterly flopped from Ubisoft could have been big.

People complain about the main character and her hair. CHUDS this game takes place between Empire and Jedi, those films came out in 1980 and 1983. Now go on this site and watch some TV/MOVIES and other content that came out during that time and look at how the hottest women looked like. I grew up in the 80s, they LOOKED JUST LIKE THAT, with the Eddie Van Halen hair. They are trying to make this look like a SW film that came out during that era. Trying to do with what TEYON did with the new Robocop game, they did a good job making a game that looked like it was a interactive version of a Robocop game that came out between 2 and 3.

Why luke is pushing THIS game?

I think they release this sooner then later knowing that GTA 6 comes out next year they are gonna wanna give the game as much time on top as they can before GTA comes out and everyone gonna hang it up more then likely so if they were smart atleast they would hurry up and release it.....

Oh, I wish that outlaws was going to be as incredible as it looks, and meet all the promises that they are listing. But at this point I’m praying that it’s just mid enough to be worth playing 😂 i’ve been burned by too many good looking tech demos, no shot this game matches the hype
