This show sadly doesn’t even feel like The High Republic era it’s supposed to be. With the exception of Sol, Osha and Jecki, the rest of the Jedi don’t seem anything like the more compassionate, wise and open minded Jedi that this era is known for. Hell I haven’t even seen one cross guard lightsaber in this whole show, and a lot of the Jedi of the High Republic era had them.

There will be flashbacks in one of the last 4 episodes where we’ll see Kelnacca in action with his saber.

Don't mean to sound too negative but the most baffling part for me is that the budget was $180m and the episodes are less than 50mins, and still, almost everywhere on this show looks like a set. I believe Andor had less for each episode and that show looked amazing.

Mundi: Sith aint been around for 1000 years. Also Mundi: Knows ab someone murdering Jedi Masters on order of an evil force user and doesnt say shit to Yoda apparently😂

This is starting to remind me of the plot to the old kung fu classic movie the Seven Grandmasters. The plot there was that one student got jealous of the other and killed the master and stole the teachings. The other student (Sol)spent time looking for the killer, found him over the body of the father of a young boy(in this case the witches) fought the guy gave him a scar but the evil guy got away. Well he ended up teaching the son of the dead guy until the bad guy told the son that the good guy (Jedi)killed his father and he then trained the kid to get revenge(in this case on the Jedi). The part of the son is played by twins here. Basic recap of that story, probably not the case with this story but so far very similar to that plot . Very interesting to see how this story will end,won't spoil it incase there's a small chance that this ending will be the same 🙂.

I still think that the guy in the mask is not a master, but the apprentice. That he was always the acolyte, and not Mae. If so, then he has gotten what he wanted, Mae and Osha together, two born from the Force. If his master is who I think it is, then he will be pleased.

Qimir is most definitely the masked master of Mae.

Umm why would the Sith lord send Mae to kill the Jedi Kelnacca then the Sith lord kill the wookie. Of course I'm assuming that Kelnacca was killed by the Sith lord.

I agree that the sudden change of heart by Mae was really abrupt and just came out of nowhere. It felt exactly like when in Episode 9, Hux just out of nowhere declared that he was a rebel mole. By the way, I think that was one of the things where Episode 9 just lost me! Hope history doesn't repeat itself.

The reaction at the end was me!! I was like NO ARE YOU KIDDING!!! I need more and I need more now! what an episode!!! this episode was like a build up to next week!

@latetotheparty, 13:10 Ki-Adi-Mundi isn't on this mission. In the meeting he was part of, however, no one there said anything about a Sith...they don't even know what one looks like. "What is that?" --Jecki Lon Mae change makes sense. I don't know why many reactors think it's out of character/place for Mae to do a 180. The last time she saw her sister, she was alive and in the eyeshot of a Jedi, the people taking her sister away. All Mae knows is that she fell from the collapsing platform and Osha was on the verge of falling too. We don't know when the Sith Lord took her in, but I think it's pretty clear that it happened immediately after, as the Sith is the one that likely sliced the platform mentioned last episode and the Sith is most likely the one that took out all the other witches with some sort of explosion. That Sith convinced Mae that the Jedi were to blame for everything, and that's why Mae is out to kill the four that were stationed on her planet. Mae came face to face with Osha, after the Jedi told her she was alive. She thought the Jedi had lied, but she knew that that wasn't true. Osha stood just meters from her. The rush of emotions in that moment must have made her happy, angry confused, hopeful, and who knows what else--she even tells Qimir that the long flight to Khofar gave her time to think. For 16 years, she had been fueled by a lie and anger, and in an instant, it all went away. I don't see it strange for Mae to stop doing what she's doing. Especially, if her motivation for killing the Jedi was to avenge her sister who didn't actually die. She learned two things the day before just outside the Jedi temple, she was wrong and the Jedi told the truth. Why continue if you have evidence that you were wrong? That said, Mae doing a 180 is exactly how you kill a Jedi WITHOUT A WEAPON! Mae mentioned in the last episode that if "the master" found out that Qimir helped Mae kill Torbin things would end well for them. So Mae telling Qimir that she's had a change of heart and that she's going to turn herself in, is more than enough reason for Qimir to do the deed, as he'd be punished too since he was sent on this mission with Mae. Mae effectively got someone else to kill Kelnacca for her, and that's how you kill a Jedi without a weapon! We'll have to wait a week to find out for sure if Qimir is the master or not. I can see both sides of the argument being true. Still, I think we aren't thinking about what Mae knows! Why assume Mae hasn't seen Qimir and the master together? What has she said to imply that she hasn't seen them together?

It's damn obvious is the other mother. Burnt arms, a special hatred for these 4 jedi.

these episode are too damn short! we dont need cliffhangers, we need action!!

The only issue I have the show is that its definitely been ahot with maybe 3 or 4 longer episodes in my mind bit then they just cut all those in half. Its very jarring and this cliffhanger was pretty egregious. But Im loving the show so far.

It can't be Qirin. It just would be way too obvious. What if he is in the same training as mae, and hes succeeding in killing the jedi UNARMED by using mae to kill them he seemed super eager to get mae to kelnaccas location, just my wild thought

That ending was messed up. The editing seems off in this series. Hopefully the finale is at least 45 minutes. Thanks for reacting.

Well clarifying something yord knew that she had a sister the thing that ge he didn't know was that they were twins, and regarding the change of heart that Mae had... Well she only wanted the jedi death was because she hold them responsable for oshas dead which came to still be alive at the end so, I think that perhaps she is not going to have much of a choise in the matter and is going to be forced by his master to remain by his side or something, we shall see

Mae was waffling after seeing Osha again. Qimir sensed that & tried to reinforce her resolve to fulfill her promise by reminding her of the consequences for failure. Mae tried to play it off so Qimir would lower his guard and she could plot her escape once she was close enough to Kelnacca's location to get the rest of the way in her own.

No amount of Disney marketing has gotten me to watch this. Your faces in the thumbnail? THAT got me to tune in! 😂

That last scene was honestly really good, the mysterious master/Smilo Ren/Darth Teeth already seems like such a formidable opponent; that little head twitch he does before taking on the Jedi was a nice sinister touch, a cool choice from whoever is under the mask. I haven't really been feeling the last few episodes which I felt really killed the momentum we were building up in the first two episodes, but hopefully the arrival of the big bad will be the kick up the backside this series really needs going into its second half

While I think Qimir and Koril are the easy, two leading candidates for the Sith master, I wonder if it's Qimir over Koril for one reason we see in this episode. Other than it making some sense that a Sith master would keep tabs on their apprentice by being right under their nose (We see Palpatine do this with Anakin and the Order) and Qimir easily fended off Mae in ep 2, he also knows poisons (which, in and of itself, doesn't indicate Sithhood), but most of all, when Mae informed Qimir her plans to surrender herself to the Jedi and tell them what she knows, it was Qimir, as the Sith master, who knew he had to beat Mae to the wookiee and kill him to stop it. There was also the scene in ep 2 where, when surrounded by the Jedi, Qimir begged not to have his mind probed knowing that that would immediately give him away. Just some thoughts.

This react was too timely, way off brand. 😅 This was probably the best ep so far... but that isn't saying all that much. The story is sort of going in the right direction... but still stifled by other factors (acting, pacing, writing,etc...)

Well, Ki-Adi-Mundi sees a fighter who wouldn't stand a chance in a straight up fight against a Jedi Master and who isn't wielding a red (or any) lightsaber so all he sees is a trained warrior with force sensitivity, not necessarily a Sith (which is probably inconceivable to the Jedi at this point).

Episode 5 has long been the GAS for a lot of shows lately. We got Ahsoka in Mando 2-5, the clone wars flashbacks in Ahsoka ep 5. The Mando Luke episode of Boba Fett was episode 5. I have huge hopes for next week!!!! As for Ki Adi Mundi, in that meeting, no one has any reason to think Mae herself is a Sith, and he doesnt go to Khofar. As of this moment, Mundi has never seen the red blade and has no reason to believe the Sith are involved.

My understanding is the first 4 episodes were what reviewers and critics were given and if so I think from a business stand point the ending can be pretty enticing for a non spoiler review of the series first half so that said critics can do some convincing of fans. And it does get me, a mere normie, stoked for next week but yeah the length of this was a bit ehhh still pretty enjoyable over all.

13:57. I've been very positive about all the Disney content, but this show is just not working for me. That said, I can't help but wonder if the inclusion of Kelnacca was just a way to drive up viewership. I think he was bait for streaming clicks: "See how many people tuned in?" Yeah, some of us tuned in for a jedi wookiee that you used less as a character and more as a prop.

Normally, the ending when the Sith Lord appeared gave me goosebumps like when I first saw the Alien movie. As for Kiadi-mundi, we know that SW Legends are not Canon. We've already seen this change with Yaddle in Tales of the Jedi. As for Kimiro, I think the same, I noticed that he might not want Mae, just as a textbook, but maybe something more. And as for Mae, since she found out that Oshie is alive and they saw her, her turn would make sense, it reminds me of Vader and Luke in episode 6.

That Sith is incredible powerful to be able to do that much power with a wave of the hand. Star Killer is that powerful but he is a defected clone on a later timeline, so there is only one option left to whoever is under that mask. THAT SITH IS A WOMAN!!! Only a strong female character can be this powerful, we have run the numbers n it was to be A Female Character That doesn’t want to share power with his old Male Master.

I have to say, while third episode I though was weakest, fourth was improvement. I still am getting bit lost of the Show but I will watch show till end. This drama that began before Show was aired that people started trashing before seeing first episode was ridicules. I admit, I got caught it at first but I am trying to act as adult now. And then Disney pours more gasoline with Kathleen Kennedy very poorly worded response. I mean the drama this show has caused in Social Media and internet is rivaling Bridgerton when it comes to Drama. People accuse Lucasfilm from Woke agenda and Disney brushes criticism (even legit ones) off as rant by incels. Personally I think this series should have been released fully once so people can binge watch it.. I understand reason behind one episode week, but this instance a lot of Drama could have been avoided this way.

There is teasing and there is blueballing. This was the latter. Cliffhangers need to be used wisely ... they are supposed to pique interest, not frustrate the viewers. This one failed. The only thing it did was killing any momentum that the episode had going. When it picks up again next week, any traces of excitement over the confrontation will have long evaporated. Bad, nay, amateur move.

The only reason she was killing jedi was because she thought they killed her sister. That purpose no longer exists. Some of you are remedial.

I honestly feel that we may be seeing borderline personality disorder in Mae and we most are dismissing it as bad scriptwriting. There is definitely something we are seeing not only as a relationshio between them also on a personal level.

They set themselves up for negative reviews! Unlike the writing of Tony Gilroy's creation Andor, Leslye Headland doesn't remind me of a true Star Wars mind. She just hasn't been able to draw me in, as much as I continue to try. For me it's been more frustrating with bad writing and acting. As much as I have tried to not be critical, it has now become difficult to not be! So far...I think Headland should go back to projects like the Bachelorette and step away from trying to create Star Wars stories and characters. It takes a real special SW mind and I don't feel she has it. But even more disappointing and frustrating is Disney. They continue to not give Star Wars the respect it deserves and demands when they bring in people like Headland and Kennedy! I grew up with SW from the beginning...it is everything to me. I just wish it meant as much to them!

I agree about being bummed we don’t get to see Kelnacca doing anything cool this episode. We will obviously see it in flashback but would like to see more. Mae’s quick change of heart didn’t bother me. Her sister being alive had to impact her a lot. Especially since they are twins. I’m sure she’s been reflecting on it in the time passed from when she saw her to landing on the planet which I assume took some time. The episode overall was too short. Enjoyed your reaction as usual.

I really enjoyed this episode. The short form and cliffhangers remind me of the Flash Gordon serials Star Wars was based on.

I really love you guys and your back and forth chemistry. I have been rolling my eyes so much at Star Wars reactioners, that it's starting to give me a headache. Harping on Ki Adi Mundi's line in The Phantom Menace, and ALSO acknowledging that Tenebrous and Plagueis actually existed during this time period, too, is painfully hypocritical. It's obvious that this very powerful Jedi-gone-bad mind wipes the higher up Jedi so that more powerful Jedi don't get thrust into the fray. One plausible hypothesis.

The entire episode was boring but Jeez...The entrance at the end was LIT...Made me want to watch the episode 5

Interesting that Ki-Adi Mundi didn't tell the council or Yoda about the Sith. Guess we're retconning the prequels. For those arguing it wasn't him, his character was confirmed in the credits of the episode.

What a freaking cliffhanger!! Shocked we got Mae's master right here at the halfway point. This mystery is getting juicy! Now, I'm curious to see the second half!
