The last meaningful time ‘May the Force be with you’ was used in the films was Revenge of the Sith. It’s the final thing Anakin and Obi-Wan say to each other as friends.

In KOTOR 2 they have a character, Atton Rand, who specializes in dealing with Jedi. He explains very clearly how hard it is to deal with people who have preternatural speed, constantly see partially in the future and feels the intentions of everyone around them, and how he got around those super powers to take care of them. He makes it very clear that Jedi are super soldiers that normal people have no chance fighting against without using specialized tactics that bypass those super powers.

Darth Plaguise would canonically be 15 during the events of this show so my worst fear is that it's going to go into how he was trained and ruin the whole mystery around the character. I'm fully expecting the big twist of the show to be "Plaguise was the Acolyte"

I get where Mauler is coming from with the whole "Jedi robes all look the same and it's a bit boring." thing. However, I'd counter by saying that it makes a lot of sense for a group of warriors who believe in letting go of worldly attachments to wear simple, boring clothes, because they're not interested in appearances of wealth or opulence. You don't see Buddhist monks going around in anything insanely fancy. Jedi beliefs would dictate that they would wear simple, practical, clothes that serve their needs, and are not designed to show off. That said, I do think they could vary up the colour schemes a bit more. Luke and Anakin both wear black robes, instead of various shades of tan and brown, so that would suggest that other options are available. I think any earthy tones would fit nicely with the existing styles, whilst providing a bit more options for unique character designs. Shades of green, orange, yellow, and maybe even blue, would probably all fit. You could also have some accents of other colours to provide a bit of personal variation between the jedi. White is another colour would work nicely. As much as we memed on the whole "Ahsoka the White" thing, it was more aesthetically interesting than anything in this show. Although, for a much better example of white robes, look up Starkiller's white jedi robes outfit, from the final level of The Force Unleashed 1. He looks like an Assassin's Creed character in Star Wars aesthetics, and it's awesome.

The only white guy in the whole trailer is named “convict” in the subtitles lol

Ah yes the time of "peace " where the first thing we hear of the era is a Republic invasion of Hutt space, sith monstrosities wrecking havoc and a war against pirate bands by Jedi......... Within the 1000 years of peace during the Russan reformation and the Sith Rule of two.

For a show that’s supposed to be progressive, somehow they hired a guy who has a track record of drunk driving, assaulting on a woman and making gay jokes that could potentially get his gay best friend to commit self-deletion. Still bitter that he got an Emmy award over Bob Odenkirk, who literally dropped dead on set and had to come back from death to finish filming because he’s so dedicated at being Saul Goodman.

The trailer's reception is so funny to me, because in isolation I think it's pretty mediocre, it's just that Disney has cultivated such doubt and disdain that many people aren't giving them any benefit of the doubt, quite the opposite.

You know something in a trailer is serious when it's trumpeted by those epic farts.

Remember when it was hard to kill Jedi? They were the peak of warriors in the galaxy and killing them was considered impressive. Where you had to either overwhelm them with numbers, trick them (like Order 66), or set Sith-wielding assassins on them. If this assassin lady is actually successful at solo killing Jedi by just walking right up to them with just some knives, some ninja martial arts, and a few pieces of non-Beskar armor, that will be pretty pathetic. Because it doesn't make the assassin girl look better. It makes the Jedi look worse.

When I saw the trailer the first thing that popped into my mind was a quote from Jean Reno (Le Frog in Flushed away) "Oh mon dieu. You're going to make me throw up." The problem with Leslye Highland is she wants to create a brand-new franchise from scratch with "her" vision and then slap the name Star Wars on it. And her vision apparently is to make a hybrid movie that combines Frozen, Kill Bill and the Matrix. How exactly are these three movies in any way connected to the Star Wars universe? This is evident that she knows nothing about the fanbase and what they want to see in a Star Wars project. And it is quite clear that she is not a fan of Star Wars and knows nothing about what made it great to begin with. What Leslye Highland wants is everyone to accept that it will be the most amazing thing ever produced. And also make sure everyone knows that it was made by women for women first and foremost. Oh, and men can also watch it if they want to. Most importantly, you can't critique it in a bad way and if you do then you are labeled as the "toxic male demographic." This has the making off what's sure to be a multi seasonal crapfest. Disney is on the deck of the Titanic and can see the iceberg right in front of them. And they are steering for it anyway full steam ahead. Honestly I think I'll stick to playing Knights of the Old Republic if i need a Star Wars Fix.

They claimed they didn't use the Volume on Indy 5 too. Instead they just tracked in enormous dogshit CGI sets on top of the live action footage.

This is going to be another situation where Disney pretends to explore the more interesting concepts of the force in about the most basic shallow way possible. Somehow kotor2 managed to do the “yours eyes can deceive you” talk in a way more fascinating and appealing way. Like it actually makes you think about how the force connects everyone in this universe.

even lucas faceplanted trying to elaborate on "the force". it simply is a case of it being an extremely flimsy paper thin concept that works best sprinkled in as a vague mystical bit of flavor. it's a huge trap because relying on it will inevitably lead to irreconcilable plot craters.

I strongly agree with jedi having more unique outfits. Some of my favourite jedi , aayla, bastila, revan, ahsoka, quinlan voss, etc. Have very interesting designs compared to the basic robes. Even anakin and obi wan in the clone wars when they do a mixture of robes and armour, it gives them more personality.

One thing I noticed is that even with the prequels, it took time for them to eventually be seen as bad, and it didn't last all that long tbh. The sequels were hated immediately, and it hasn't died down.

I've said this a lot in regards to this trailer. But its just frankly boring. And it comes off as TOO vague to say its gonna be amazing or dogshit. But its not vague in the way most trailers are, in that they're trying to draw your interest. This is vague to AVOID a lack of interest. Its doing anything it can to prevent backlash or people from not watching the show. All the other times I've seen Leslie talk about this show, its abour the politics or representation or what it means to her as a "queer woman", not a lot about the story or characters. I'm not gonna watch Acolyte, I don't trust Disney, let alone Leslie "Harvey Weinstein's secretary" Headland with this franchise overall. I like Ahsoka, Bad Batch and Tales of the Jedi, but all INSPITE of Disney, not because of it

Expanded universe had a much cooler Jedi-Fu. It involved using the force to speed up and add force to strikes by projecting ahead of the fists, so you got to see characters like Mace Windu drill apart droids with his fists. Now it’s a fight between stiffies.

Yes, and the best scene with a lightsaber in A New Hope, you hear the lightsaber, and see an arm hit the floor. I literally don't even remember seeing Kenobi holding an active lightsaber in that scene, but between the scream and severed arm, it was super obvious how dangerous Alec Guinness' Kenobi was.

Rags mentioning that the plot will be using idiotic assassins with ineffective tools reminded me of why I love the KOTOR games so much, especially KOTOR 2: TSL since there was clear thought put into these kinds of things. KOTOR 2 had a particullarly great dialogue between the Jedi Exile and the assassin protocol droid HK-47 that covers the assassination of Jedi. Stuff like this could've been a great source for the writers to go off of when trying to make their own assassin effective, regardless of the source being non-canon. Just reading/listening to the dialogue while playing those games reminded me of a better time for Star Wars... ah well, at least Disney's incompetence is saving me money, there's a silver lining I suppose. Here's the dialogue below if anyone is curious: Exile (Player) - "If I need to kill a Jedi, how would I do it? HK-47 - "Request: First, Master, I would appreciate it if Jedi need to be kiled, that you permit me to kill those annoying pseudo-pacifists for you. But if you are determined to do it yourself, then there are many techniques I would suggest. First, weapon selection is critical. If I see one more idiot attacking a Jedi with a blaster pistol, then I'll kill them myself." Exile (Player) - "What weapons would you suggest?" HK-47 - "Answer: Select grenades, sonic screamers, cluster rockets, and plasma charges. Mines are also effective, since many Jedi will run to meet you in hand to hand combat. Silly Jedi. I am a little sad that I don't care about Star Wars anymore.

Why does every single movie and tv trailer always have the exact same soundtrack. The big dramatic orchestra building the tension while heavy drumbeats slowly rise in tempo as.... someone turns around. It's all so painfully out of place.

The worst thing about many trailers, is my imagination of what it could be is often better than what it is.

That whole star wars bounty hunter conversation got me right in the feels. Obviously as a sequel to the 2002 game, new character, imperial timeline It would be so good.

When I first learned of yellow lightsabers years before the Disney acquisition I fell in love. When I read about the lore and found out yellows meaning I was even happier. When Rey turned on her new saber (back then I was still a fan) I was so excited. Now I can’t stand the sight of a lightsaber, much less my favorite kind.

Disney really did embrace Kreia's 'Apathy is death' mantra over the past decade. Because that's all I'm feeling for the franchise nowadays. I don't even care for the EU anymore.
