I know Malgus has used lightning before but I loved how they used him to show a little bit of the new combat system. He was 4 different classes in short times with how I see it. First was a sith sorcerer (with force lightning), then a jedi sage (with force project), then a sith marauder dual wielding lightsabers and when disarmed of a lightsaber he went back to being a juggernaut. Regardless I'm super pumped for the story of this expansion!
The machine basically provides a map to force users that were abondonded or not deemed worthy by the jedi or sith. From the trailer the jedi did not take the brother because he believed the he was too weak to become a jedi but they showed that was not true since he destroyed the doll. Because of this the bother became a slave. Malgus also opened the jedi holocron which means he is both a dark and lide side force user so he basically wants to create his own new order out of the people who were overlooked by sith and jedi. I think this opens a lot of possibilities for Malgus as he orginally is potrayed as a villain but from this trailer it seems he is more balanced so maybe we can join his faction in this expansion. Ultamietly he seems to want to allow anyone who can use and access the force as it is within their right to do so where the jedi and sith consider themsleves to be the more important force users. Whether this is to become emporor of his own faction or if he has genuinely changed we will find out in the game.
I just noticed that while Malgus's eyes are bloodshot they no longer the yellow eyes of a Sith, he has truly moved on and is trying to start his own faction and that is badass
@@backstabingpike I imagine he ment that Palpatine in a story somewhere used Malgus as a historical example for emulation when Vader was being trained in the Dark Side.
LOL you guys know nothing Malgus and the Old Rebublic isnt cannon. Palpatine and Vader were created 20 plus years before Bioware even thought of this. Only one from old rebulic that is cannon is Bane and he was created by lucas for the rule of two.
Malgus is no longer a Sith. He is a Force Lord. He is called a traitor by the dark tooper he kills at the start and you hear him say "This is how the Sith and Jedi maintain control" .....Over the force.
I think he is a Sith, but not in normal sense. He is probably one of few (maybe only) Sith who reached final parts of their credo: "Through Victory my chains are Broken (leaving Sith Empire). The Force shall free me (his current state)." He is now The Sith. Real Sith. Most of Siths stuck at part of "Victory", because they regard destruction of Jedi and Galactic Republic as "Victory" instead of liberating themselfs. I just hope my Sith Inquisitor will be able to join Malgus at some point (but I doubt it will happen :( )

Malgus basically lost faith in both sides as I have while playing this game,luckily i have my alliance but malgus doesn't lol,but I love his story arc tbh

I was one of the ones that played at launch and then let it go when I finished the Kotfe/Kotet expansions so around 2017ish because life just got hectic and didn't really make time for it. Got back a few months ago and I'm enjoying it again. Hopefully I don't take too many long breaks again.
Malgus was actually not manipulating but telling harsh truth. Jedi DO decide who will be taught who won't based on their SUBJECTIVE opinion , which is most of times doesn't actualy align with the will of the force. Malgus wanted her to think and act for herself, and to make her own decisions Finding truth which Jedi have been hiding from her
We have seen this type of scene before will she choose to desire power and leave The Jedi and use the dark side and be enemies of both sides or just the sith
