Star Wars Horror Zombie Shooter game is something I didn't know I needed. Playing Deathtroopers 1 and 2 made by Stefano Cagnani on Unreal Engine 5! Leave a LIKE and a comment, thanks for watching.
star wars is supprisingly perfect for horror. imagine a crashed ship, few troopers, on kashyyk being hunted by a single wookie preditor style. wookies are hard asf
Well you could say that in the technical terms or other way to say it in scientific terms resurrected targets with no advance brain and body factions other than adaptive behaviour and a desire for hunger on the living in order to spread the infection's influence to a new host/vessel
@@Minecraftassassin-re6og 😄"They're resurrected targets with no advance brain and body factions other than adaptive behaviour and a desire for hunger on the living in order to spread the infection's influence to a new host/vesselnow?" "They're resurrected targets with no advance brain and body factions other than adaptive behaviour and a desire for hunger on the living in order to spread the infection's influence to a new host/vessel now" just in case i am referencing the sequel's "They fly now?"
The way this is modelled got me thinking how nice a Star Wars game using the old Kenner action figures would be, wonder if Lucas/Disney have ever considered it.
The inspiration for this was project blackwing a imperial virus that went horribly wrong abroad an imperial prison ship (which sadly only about 5 people made it out alive the rest were either infected or eaten and the virus never made it out because the infection needed to stay close to the main source of the virus otherwise the current host/vessel dies)
The one jarring thing that I cant look past is the fact they're covered in armour and helmets and blood so none of it makes sense they're not biting each other. Just seems silly when I think too deeply 😂
@@TheRogueWolf they could make a really good game in this vain as you said. This is a good example of how atmospheric it would be so I gotta give the dev props
@@DZB666 you should read the book. I think you are close. They didn't get to release the disease because it spread on a Star Destroyer before it got to its destination.
You can actually see from some of the first books' covers that their helmets are cracked right on through,so those who do eat do have the space to do so.
This genuinely has potential, I only wish It was slightly more lore friendly. Using the plot of say Dathomir and the Nightsisters as the cause. Could even be as simple as the Nightsisters growing tired of the imperial reign and decided to strike back.
Honestly it could be as simple as one of Palpatine’s imperial research experiments goes wrong creating this outbreak at a hidden lab in the outer rim and it got out.
What do you mean “more lore friendly”, these zombie troopers or “death troopers” are created from an imperial virus meant for the death trooper super solider program. Hints of this can be found in the books (there’s two books about this virus), map details in the original battlefront 2 regarding dark troopers, and project black wing, the virus, was apart of the death trooper program. You know. Krennicks death troopers? Yea those guys, who are actually in the movies? Tf you mean “more lore friendly”
I find the night sisters zombies less interesting than the nightwing ones or whatever they were called, but that’s just me (the night sisters zombies are still dope lol)
Battlefront 2 Ewok Hunt was absolutely awesome. In Clonewars there was an episode with infested clones. Would love to see smth like this. In general: If they made smth like Rogue Squad with the Bad Batch that'd be absolutely amazing
Dude I READ THOSE BOOKS growing up! Deathtroopers in 2009, and a couple years later: Red Harvest. Those are some of my favorite books, they keep you on the edge of your seat and I absolutely loved them. Loved seeing this ohmage to them, would love a full on Deathtroopers game set in that universe. If you loved Dead Space, you will love Deathtroopers, I might pick them up on audio just to re-experience them.
The amount of crazy bullshit in the Star Wars universe, I don't know why they haven't done more horror. Even just the "survive the night against ewoks" game mode showed the potential. Hell, they have the Rakghouls among other thing.
So, for some information, the game seems to be a sequel to the Death Trooper book, as the ships mentioned in one of the droid's narrations is called the Purge. This is the prisoner ship that docked with the Zombie Star Destroyer in the Death Trooper Book, and led to Zombie Wookies as Jack was speculating.
If you'd like to see another indie game, check out Angels Fall First. It's early access but is a fully working game and while it has taken them a long time, they are still developing it. 64 player infantry and space combat. Can play with others, but also playable fully offline with bots. General consensus is that this game never got the attention it deserved.
I'm a huge fan of your channel. I just saw that you've tried Destiny 2 and I loved your review of it. That's my game of choice right now. Love to see more of it and you testing out the PVP side of it and what your honest thoughts of it. Especially Gambit. I don't take part in the crucible part because of the way noobs like me are put up against sweats.
No matter what you do with Star Wars you can't change the fact that people are running around in plastic armour fighting teddy bears and scottish terrier bigfoots.
pretty sure this game is based upon the "Death Troopers" novel, in which an imperial experimant gains sentience and infects an entire destroyer with a black, ink-like liquid which serves to connect them bodies to a hive mind type consciousness
Imagine a full fletched game where there's multiple levels trying to escape the death star (or a ship maybe) and last level timed since it's going to blow up. Then you land on Endor and have to survive the Ewoks who slowly shows up. You can also find other stormtroopers. Make them human, give them backstories, have one tell you he had to join to provide for his family. Get rescued by The Empire with just 1 other of your teammates surviving (the one with family) Later you are invading Kashyyk or something. With that mate on team yes. It all goes wrong, The Empire was too greedy with ressources. You get isolated from squad and captured. The rebels interrogate you. You explain you were forced into The Empire. You get put into jail, some cutscenes will play of you getting jobs. Sweeping floors long nights.... But then more and more included you become. You smile to the Rebels as you are serving food, no longer being watched. You get your own place to live and freedom. You enjoy the friendlyness of the Rebels and realise they are right.... Then The Empire blows your base up, some of the new friends you've made dies. You are recruited into the army to save the base from The Empire. Then you go into missions as the rebels. You become a respected soldier. More gear and abilities unlock yada yada. (Maybe you are force sensitive too and Luke notices? Could be a concept.) You become a high ranking and respected officer. Until eventually you stand face to face with your old Stormtrooper friend who you got separated with before your capture.... He changed and says you are now his enemy, being brainwashed by The Empires ideology.... He removes his helmet, both emotional yada yada Either you have to kill him, or the game could end by him killing you.... I really just want devs to make a nice Star Wars thing. Humanising Stormtroopers seems popular (okay also some hate it).... Game could still work without the human thing, but I kinda want a good story too.
If you really want to give fan service it could be Leia who captures and spares you since she sees good in you. R2D2/C3PO could become helpers OR just NPCs at Rebel base. Luke could teach you or there could be a level where you are the only rebel alive to assist Luke, you have to help him fight, infiltrate with him etc. you have tech skills he doesn't, you can open doors, you can coordinate with him. You can hack terminals and make distractions. Many possibilities.... If going with force sensitive you could straight up just be an apprentice too lol. Have Han as a vendor at base to sell smuggled goods. Lando can help make your base grown and improve your income Chewbacca could be another playerable character in a DLC where you fight for the other side. Or maybe a teammate? I just feel like too little is being done with this IP. The game could also be COOP lol. No reason not to. Could even have a lil multiplier if you are going to make fully fletched weapons and gadgets too.
I believe this is actually based of a cannon story in the Star Wars universe. I vaguely remember a comic or novel describing a zombie like virus infecting a star destroyer and Han Solo infiltrating it. I can’t quite remember
I'd assume he stole that TIE-Fighter. But you're right, typically they'd be in a black pilot suit. Assuming with how damaged it was when it was floating in space, he likely escaped a space station that was also infected. Likely others sacrificed themselves to make sure this trooper left to find help. But that's my speculation.
Yeah... but it's Disney. It has to be bastardized just because. So no, not until someone comes by and tells Disney to "fuck off" so the film can be made properly.
Ah got to love slow mo in games. Think they missed a trick though, think how terrifying it would be to be the lone survivor being hunted by hundreds of just normal ewoks. Dropping logs and boulders on you from nowhere, pit traps, and wild beasts. Being swarmed by ewoks with knives. Though I guess you could kill an ewok in a second, just kick its face off.
I love seeing this. Indy developers pushing out triple A quality looking games. All the big game companies are in such weird spots. They need to start looking at all these projects smaller talented developers are doing and sign them aboard or publish their products.
I love the slowed style because if EA were to make a Dead Space spiritual successor in the Star Wars universe, it honestly could have been fantastic if it were based on Death Troopers. Just seeing the intro to the demo for the second game with the crash-landed stormtrooper makes me hope the dev(s) get to make a game like this even if they aren't able to make a full-priced Star Wars game due to legal reasons.
