StarCraft 2: SERRAL VS MARU! 

One thing that I really love about Lowko's casts is that he never assumes his viewers are pros at the game and always includes explanations of little details that newcomers may not know yet

this entire video is what happens when an unstoppable zerg meets and immovable terran.

Really missing the minerals/gas per second. The worker amount tells so much less about eco situation than actual income per second. Let's say zerg has 90 workers and 2 mining bases you'll think he's in a good spot even though his income is barely 1.2k/min while terran with 30 scvs and 3 mining bases and mules looks bad by worker count but his income is near 2.5k/min

This is exactly how I envision fighting the Zerg: constant, gigantic, relentless waves of claws, fangs, exploding acid balls of horror coming at you nonstop from all angles and youre way outnumbered all the time, everybody dying in most horrific ways all around you. Soldiers daying by the hundreds, by the thousands in seconds.

Overlord increases speed by a barley noticeable amount "There ya go! look how fast that guy is, insane!" haha

Personally, I choose to believe that creep smells like cherries. Or maybe plums. Also Banelings are lemon-lime flavoured and chocolate covered Zerglings are delicious. Either that or I'm just hungry.

Sometimes i wish they renamed the Ghost to something like Marksman, so Terrans could go MMMM. Also, i immagine creep smells like rotting kelp at the shore after a few days in the sun. Has somewhat the same look as well

I love your ability to watch a replay, then watch it again and commentate on it as though it's totally new to you. That and your excitement during these matches are signs of a top tier commentator.

The mengsk voice line for Zerg is something like “ you have to place that on creep. I don’t care how it smells” so it probably doesn’t smell that good

Give Ultras the aberration ability from coop, they should be able to walk over lings, banes, marines, and zealots. Also keep their attack a melee but have like 1 or 2 range. Would be a way less derpy unit with these changes

Well with creep being BioMass, and from what I've seen most biomass is meaty beings, I doubt Xreep would smell like decaying leaves. More like decaying flesh, miles and miles of decaying flesh.

Starcraft 2 is a simple game: two players fight it out and Serral wins.

I've actually already seen this match on another channel. But it's still worth watching just because of Lowko's super in-depth commentary. I love it.

Creep is a soft suede on the touch and smells minty like all the zergs.

If Serral continues to play like that, the zerg will be nerfed into having 1 hp and 1 damage.

I haven't played Starcraft 2 for at least 3 years. As much as much as I love it it just stresses me out too much. Still come to your channel occasionally lowko for a splurge. Your enthusiasm for it is infectious. Great content and commentary.

I can tell you play the game because your casting is so accurate and seems like second nature. That kind of understanding can only come from so many hours fully immersed.

Starcraft's manual says creep is acidic. So I think it either smells sour or like a swamp.

I love the enthusiasm you cast with. It's more important than you also play okay.

You know when you had a glass of milk and some orange juice at night, didn't brush your teeth and slept all night long with through your mouth until is is completely dry. Then the next morning you turn towards your wife and say "Good morning, darling." And then she turns her eyes up until you only see white? That is what creep smells like.

That second game after the 16 minute mark was sooo frustrating to watch. It was like those characters in the movies who already get beaten and you know there is no way for them to win, but not giving up until they finally get killed. As soon as i saw that 70% of the map was zerg infested, there is simply no point of keeping the fight, especially when you play against the top zerg player.

At the bottom of the screen where it shows minerals and gas there are red arrows pointing down that blink. It seems only the ones in the minerals are blinking, and it looks like the first has to be on for the second one to turn on. What is that? do they mean anything?

First vid with the new UI and I like it a lot the larger icons make it more engaging to watch because you can follow the action and commentary with a seamless transition. allowing for an informative but not intrusive visual. good choice hope you keep using this ui

I feel like zerg is in the best place it has been in in YEARS. Right now Zerg is infinitely more fun to watch - and so much more on character - than it has been in a long time. The waves upon waves of zerg crashing endlessly over the enemy defenses until (like in game #1) you weather the full storm and come out with the victory is in my opinion how zerg should feel and play. We've seen the sit back and spam swarmhost/locust meta, the stupidly boring to watch winfestor era, the mass spore crawler and defend for 45 minutes meta, and none have been as fun as this all-out war style. I hope this phase doesn't end soon. ZvT and ZvP hasnt been this entertaining to watch since WoL.

Lowko you've commented before on the nerfs around Zerg and how Serral and Reynor are still absolute gods in games and I know what you're trying to say, I've thought it for a long time. Zerg players end up being quite adept at dealing with everything, because they have to be. Zergs style of play is very unforgiving, it always has been. This had lead to Serral and Reynor becoming as good as they're. The absolute torture you go through on the ladder as a low level Zerg has always made better players, simply because of the massive threat Terran and Protoss armies pose to players lower down on the ladder (Skytoss/Turtling Terran). Zerg weren't designed by Blizz to trade efficiently, they're the blitzkreig style army, makes sense when Zerg are called the Swarm. So when you make a mistake it costs you enormously as a Zerg, Terran & Toss just naturally trade better. So mistakes made as a low level Terran/Toss, are more often than not, a little more forgiving. Simply because of all that, Zerg will more often than not, always have the better players, Serral and Reynor are living proof of that. Even with all the nerfs to Zerg, resulting in an absolutely useless late game that Terran counter with ONE unit, they're still the two best players in the world right now.

That first match felt bad. Missing THAT important upgrade at that level of play... It's like If Thor forgot the name of his hammer.

It'$ about time! Sc2 should organize a show match between these two many many times!!

Ultralisk improvement ideas: - Give them cliffwalking like Colossi and/or free movement around friendlies (they are enormous, Zerglings really should be mindful of where Ultras step) - Make their deaths more consequential, maybe by spawning Broodlings (like Zerg structures) - Make their deaths more consequential, by providing temporary defense buff for nearby units (they are massive bio units after all, their exoskeletons splashing all around should affect the environment/units) - Give them Charge as an upgrade

Without the new overlay, I would have never noticed Serral building a greater spire and getting upgrades ready to transition to Brood Lords in the last game. Thanks!

Lowko really zeroed in on the multitasking attentional difficulties of Serral's playstyle. He has forces in multiple locations and if he's not paying attention for half a second he'll lose 40 banes to a couple of widow mines, where he often doesn't have detection and has to have his screen there to spot the depression of a buried mine . Yet this never happened in a 20 minute game. It's really mind-boggling.

I HAVE A QUESTION PLEASE READ. Why don't Terrans float a base directly over there army during a fight? That way the opponent cannot target units as easily and it seems like a lot of damage would get soaked up from it.

I wonder what would have happened if serral investede some more banelings into killing the workers. I felt like he only killed the CCs and not the workers. especially back when there where 36 workers at the top left hand base in the 2nd game.
