"Hierarch. We've got a request from a Zerg-controlled Nexus to warp in a Mothership" "Yeah, yeah, right... just give them a spare. I've got other things to take care of."
"Sir, an Infestor kidnapped one of our probe." Commander: "Pft. what an idiot, what can he possibly do with it?" Zerg: "Hold my Nexus" *builds a mothership*
Yes those are Ewoks, should have worn a welders mask before watching this game - my eyes bleed. Else from that Brilliant thing of taking over protos tech, though not as well executed. Neither by DroneTMX, he had lots of resources, but did not build in the later part.
26:52 “There is a Mothership now dealing damage to the mineral line, that is the most ridiculous thing I have seen in a while” - Lowko while watching a game where the Zerg player played Protoss
Nothing better than PAC/hammerhead with rocket combo. To be fair CnC3 did a lot of SC2 things before SC2 did, CnC's veterancy system is superior imo (sacrilege on a SC channel I know)
@@Enkarashaddam CNC also never recived the balancing it needed IMO. Far too many "I win" conditions without the ability to fight back. Been on both sides, and both sides felt bad. A great RP game to fight the computer, but not a very great competitive game in my opinion.
@@jordanbauerly8843 that's sort of true. Each race had its own ace in the hole (though it could be said GDI had more inexpensive tricks like rocket squad/hammerhead combos and orbital strike/ion cannon combos for suppressing enemy superweapons). I actually found CnC made me a better RTS player because it forced me to multitask rapidly and efficiently, especially against its brutal AI. CnC's brutal AI is so powerful it makes SC look like childs play. If you don't manage your build tightly and precisely you get overwhelmed playing as any race. I know I got my ass beaten by brutal Nod more times than I care for before I got good.
@@Enkarashaddam SC get popularity cuz it less management. In CnC you need to manage even your damn harvester to harvest blue field while harassing enemy harvester at the same time. Playing CnC is like playing Rhythm game but in RTS. If you lose focus once with versus player that nearly mean you lose.
During Brood war this was a very common thing :D When I remember correctly, in Brood War there was a time where you could have 200 supply for zerg, terran and protoss EACH. talk about overpowered x)
I remember reading the Brood War strategy guide's advice about Dark Archons specifically calling out that you get 200 supply for each race and thinking that was the ultimate dream. It was so tough to pull off, usually I ended up just doing it in campaign missions.
Reminds me of a reverse of my favorite Brood War strat. I'd start Protoss, rush Dark Archon, mind control some scvs and drones then drop a massive fleet of Carriers, Battle Cruisers, and Guardians under Arbiter cloaks on my poor hapless targets.
@@tchivchiv2703 It's harder to do and it's a lot weaker. In Brood war the Terran, Protoss, and Zerg had separate supply pools while in Starcraft 2 they all share from one supply pool.
Memester Gaming - The Overmind wanted to die, that was the reason for creating the Queen of Blades in the first place. She wasn't under Amon's influence & would lead the Zerg. Sorta loophole in things
Azaerl What I really said in my reply was supposed to be a joke, I know the details as well as you do, I spent an entire day researching this stuff because I was bored during the summer
@@azaerl5640 I thought she was under a shadow of his influence? On Zerus when talking to Zurvan she says she "felt, an influence, a trace of something dark but long gone."
Not as easy as in SC1... In SC1 you would receive a new 200 supply, in SC2 the supply is shared so you just get more diversity and a ton more costs of resources and time for the new upgrades.
I'm not sure whether smurf or tanked his rating trying to pull this off. The effect is the same but at least the latter I can respect. I've also had someone pull this off against me while I was on terran, except I eventually won despite going up against that hybrid. Fun fact, did you know medivacs heal zerg units?
I suspect Justmonika is not a Gold league player but a much higher tier player using a smurf account to goof around with these types of strategies against low league players.
Of course it's a smurf. JustMonika is a meme from Doki Doki literature club which debuted in Sept of 2017. There's 0 chances that said player has only played for 3-4 months.
Already played him once. 100% smurf, diamond or higher. I'm only half surprised he pushes the immaturity/trolling to the point of even uploading his games against lower leagues players.
Lol I feel you. Guy almost did this to me, I marched in to his home base and saw 6 Stargates warping shit I'm and was like WTF???. Earlier I saw a Nexus warp bubble and I thought it was a changling glitch. Now I know why.
We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile.
13:12 "I secretly hope that JustMonika is going to try again..." Watch the southwest corner of the map. He's already setting up the limbo line. 14:22 the moment when the critical neuro-parasite began...
I was thinking like in the game/dance of limbo where people take turns trying trying to pass under a bar. You'll end up with a bunch of people lined up in front of the bar, waiting their turn (the "limbo line", but it's not officially called that).
Bow to our talons Protoss weaklings!! Serve the swarm and you shall feel the glory of infestation!! XD In truth I've wondered how cool it would be in the Starcraft story line if there was a Protoss tribe that worshiped the Zerg Swarm. I'd dig that XD.
Xel'Naga: Lets create two races that, in time, will form into one higher race. Amon: So... forcibly combine them into one? Xel'Naga: Amon no. Amon: Well I'm gonna. Xel'Naga: Dx
@@cowking7987 ok, thx. Cuz I just fell into the trap of thinking bout this matter nonstop, holy shit.. XD Would be kinda rewarding tho, really rewarding
I she (they?) really just Monika or are they some hybrid gestalt or something? In either case are (s)he/they really just? Could it be unjust Monika that's not just monika.. ??? The ways of the Xel'Naga are mysterious.. And what's with the bonehead evoks?
@@Zulfar-bd9tc Terran can manipulate zergs but only in the storyline of BW. They tranq the overmind and manipulate the whole colony of zerg. I wish we can do that to the hive as well
JustMonika breaking the game again lol. and Lowko this is also possible in SC1 with the dark archon. I often do that in AI matches just to have fun lol.
This was the most fun to watch from all the matches I have seen so far. :D How confusing that can be? Also, it is amazing that the game actually lets you do that. :)
@@TheDragShot No, Amon would be jealous and would throw a hissy fit only to be slapped up and downside the face by some sort of fire-winged angel or something.
I was thinking about it as well but the ineffective use of swarm hosts and infestors makes it unclear cuz that is something u'd see gold/plat ppl do. His macro isnt that good either, it fits gold.
This reminds me of a match I saw on HuskyStarcraft’s old channel, the video isn’t around anymore but it was a match between Catz and Zion. The match was about an hour long but it was ZvP and the Zerg was able to start up Protoss infrastructure by using an infestor to snag a probe. The map was split in half with tons of creep and spine/spore crawlers all over the map so the Protoss was getting lots of tempests. The Zerg was able to get tempests of his own and the final battle was 3/3 tempests for Protoss vs 3/3 tempests for Zerg. It was glorious, I wish that replay was still around.
I would have loved to see it. Only other similar match I know was in a Funday Monday episode with Day9. "Stop hitting yourself". The challenge being using an infestor and beating your opponent with his own race. Even though Day9 allowed for 3 weeks to send in a replay, he only received a handful of submissions... It's still up on his channel though :).
Made me so happy watching the infested probe go to work. Reminds me of the brood war days when the DA was the best unit out there because you could have any race you wanted at once :) Reminds me of the StarCraft 2 mod on arcade called AllTheUnits. Freaking fantastic watching this thank you Lowko!!!
Zerg:I heard that Protoss are too strong, The Golden Armada are cannot be defeated. Protoss: I don't know that, I think Zerg is more powerful. Zerg: Alright, let me show you then................... Can you see how strong the Golden Armada is now? Protoss: Well...Yeah...I just found Zerg can be Protoss and Terran at the same game. Zerg is indeed the most powerful race in Starcraft! Zerg: .....................
This is just the kind of cheesy play I used to do as toss in sc1, grab an enemy worker with my dark-arcon, build a base, start a BRAND NEW pool of supply, and double, then triple, the supplylimit. Zerg bases defended by marines and tatonx in siegemode? Carrierfleets defended by zerg suicide-fliers? Ultralisks and arcons side by sied?? Business as usual! I usually used the toss to build cannons all over the map, defending the bases of terran and zerg while the zergs pumped an unending stream of kamikaze on the enemy while the terran amassed siegetanks.
