One thing Blizzard has always gotten right. Actually, all of my favorite games have great music now that I think about it. Castlevania and Super Ghouls and Ghosts on the Super Nintendo, Final Fantasy Tactics, Chrono Trigger, WoW, Little Nightmares...
Always comes first for me, soundtrack being part of the overall atmosphere. Don't care about graphics, yeah it makes games look good at first but if they lack atmosphere, gameplay and storyline they're just empty shells. That's why i'm still playing games from the 90s and early 2000s, they objectively had better soundtracks and atmosphere.
This music tells a story, first part you have the building part and then it slowly ramps up to an epic climax and a smooth ending, i always loved this terran music.
2:08 - 3:24 gets me everytime... such a timeless composition. This was my childhood, thank you Glenn Stafford and all the crew who made this Soundtrack.
It's hard to miss something when it is easily purchasable, online and physically. Along with there being methods to play an improved version of the game in the SC2 engine. Along with the original soundtrack being in SC2, and many arcade maps that can give you BW multiplayer. So really, it's hard to miss BW and Starcraft 1 unless you're intentionally avoiding it.
+I said I dont want to use my name Hm. Possibly. Trying to interpret what someone intended to say vs what they said is usually too much effort than it's worth though and can lead lead to misinterpretation. So I tend to just take what they said at face value unless they elaborate.
Kerrigan: Captain Raynor, I've finished scouting out the area and...you pig! Jim: What? I haven't even said anything to you yet! Kerrigan: Yeah but you were thinking it.
Its hard to have a GF with psychic powers. But then again, she'll know every fetish and kink you have - and will blush about the thoughts you have about her.
As a kid, after building up my army, I would wait until 1:07 and then send my units out. It made the game feel so bad ass as this part played while my troops march on to go fuck everyone’s day up.
The problem isnt blizzard, if you see all games entreprises since 2000 is dropping in quality of writing. I called the lack of good writers of the 21st century, and this happens becase of too much idiots that like cliche and dont play attention to the out of the ordinary the creative the quality. And since those bad writting sells the capitalist owner of game enterprises normally tend to push their writers to doing bad quality all the same writing.
@@Baraodojaguary there still good writers and games out there it's just you 90s looking for something to cry about and only looking at the tip of the iceberg, it's like saying all music after the 90s is shit because Justin beiber
@@dibberz-v1z actually i was born in 2000 and modern music is shit but way before justin bieber and yes it could have some good musicians still out there but nobody knows them. And can have games with good writing nowadays but its rare i could not find but actually i heard about various new game realeases but im not wasting my money in expensive video games any more i prefer to buy a better Musical intrument
This may have been one of the earliest examples of a game's OST that wasn't constrained by the technology of the time. Like, 1998 or not, this music kicks ass and its orchestration is perfect for what it's trying to be. Timeless.
I love the terran theme compared to the other races... I mean.. I love every track in SC, but the terran theme just makes you proud to be a fucking human(terran), it just sums up that "soldier of fortune attitude so well. "AHHH THAT'S THE STUFF!"
dude you took the words out of my mouth! That's such a great description. proud to be human!! Terran music just captured that so well. I know your comment is a year old but I just whipped out the game for the first time in over a decade and had to come listen to the OST here.
Adam Chapman BUM BA DA DAA DUM! BUM BA DA DAA DUM!! I'M ABOUT TO DROP THE HAMMER, AND DISPENSE SOME INDESCRIMINATE JUSTICE! WHAT IS YOUR MAJOR MALFUNCTION SIR?!
It's actually a bit more uncommon than we think to get music in-game that actually makes you feel pumped up and motivated to want to win, like this sort of music. At 1:37 we get a really awesome buildup with that guitar and percussion along with it, then at 2:05 all the motivation gets geared up and explodes into that awesome guitar riff. I love it.
This .....just hits me. Its the late 90s again and I'm in high school. Its Friday night and I'm just relaxing at home blasting Zerg with Raynor and Kerrigan.
The only reason I lose in this game is because of this song, I'm like: "I can't help it"!!! get up from my seat and start jamming while my base gets destroyed.. lol!!!!
this song captures the essence of the human race so well, as do the songs for the other races. such a good game, a true classic. glad they used sprites so it holds up in terms of looking appealing.
Does it include the essence of people doing drugs, killing themselves, cheating for sexual pleasure and pleasure of doing wrong, ruining societies, lying, torturing innocents etc too?
I grew up playin' StarCraft as a kid. All these years later... It is *still* one of my favorite RTS games, and frankly at least to me, still one of the best. I have yet to see one that can top this.
Que poderosa y atrapante banda sonora de uno de los mejores juegos de la historia, que forma de representar la escencia pura del espíritu, osado, letal, justiciero , creativo y abrasivo de la raza humana en su viaje hacia el desconocido cosmos
I don't know about you guys, but the three Terran theme songs from this game are the three pieces of music I remember the most from StarCraft. In my opinion, the Terran's have the best music to enjoy. I don't even remember what the main theme songs from the Protoss or Zerg sound like.

Raynor: Glad to see you, boys. Time to kick some serious butt.
best theme, amazing buildup and the fall off is even better. I remember pulling off marine micro against lurkers for the first time and it was with this song, was great
This theme so nostalgic, brings back so many memories when I was a teenager back 20 years ago. Such a beautiful, soulful and melodic tune especially the intro from 0:00 to 1:05. Gives me the goosebumps or the chills, could listen that part all day. The tempo steadily goes up and down or ebbs and flows after that for most of the song and calming down towards the end. Love synthesised instrumentation used in this track by Glenn Stafford, really creates amazing ambiance and atmosphere. The original Starcraft soundtrack will never be bettered in my humble opinion.
Pokemon (1999-2001) Super Smash Bros. (Melee in my late career, 1999-2009) Pokemon Puzzle League (1996-2006), Gears of War (Arena League, 2003-2009) Just to name a few.
After listening to this for a while, I feel like this song is Jim Raynor's theme. It feels cool yet comfortable at the same time. It gets intense, but Raynor always has your back.
