The raccoons asked me for a rusty spoon, which I had not kept a spare of... If that happens to you, use artifact totems in cindersap, you'll find one ❤
Yeah, the treasure totems are definitely intended to help you zero in on specific artifacts, either for completion sake or if you need one for some reason. By the time you have access to them, you almost certainly have a greenhouse pumping out ancient fruit (or starfruit, whichever floats your boat), a barn full of pigs, and/or a ginger island farm full of beehives. So using them to try and make money at that point would be like trying to help fill a pool with a teaspoon.
The cool thing about the dig site is that it has pretty good panning spawns, so you can pan in between using totems. This sounds like a nice alternative for farming omni geodes for people who are not big fans of skull caverns.
Remember you can use your pickaxe on a tilled tile to revert it to normal! This means that as long as you have energy and totems, you can keep using them, even once you’ve done all the available area. You did this in your video, but I discovered it completely on accident, so I figure some people might not know…
You can also use a Treasure Totem on spawned spots. You can make a whole field of spots and brute force treasures and the like. I suggest saving them until you unlock Golden Animal Crackers
Love this video! I will say the totem is very useful in Ginger Island because not only are omni geodes needed for fun clothing with the desert trader, but they also have a chance of having a prismatic shard inside. I can see why they'd be worth farming there :)
100% use it to get the snake vertebrae from the ginger island farm to complete the collection. I always struggle to get two and with using three totems, I ended up with 6!! It was a game saver and meant I didn't have to wait on RNG for an artifact spot to spawn, and the right one at that. Also great for getting bones to use in the bone mill for low cost fertilizer.
this video was amazing i have using them bellow the island house where the clam rocks spawn for like 2 snake vertabre per and i have sold the bones and made a decent amount or where the beach house is thanks for the video defanitly subing.
Those drops are not limited to the dig-site. I used a bunch of treasure-totems on the island-farm and got similar results to what you show, without having to unhoe all the ground.
Thanks for the tip to use these at the dig site I've been playing on a save that was near perfection before the update (now completed). I have no shortage of supplies and money, so of course the only thing I'm missing is what money can't buy - an extra auto-petter! Now I'm farming mystery boxes on Ginger Island using the treasure totem, after getting a hint from the Predictor on how far away one is.
It definitely has its uses, even if it is more of a gamble than just selling the mystic syrups. Still, sometimes it is worth any amount of gold to just get certain artifact spot finds done easier, having that sense of agency over it.
I used a bunch of these on Ginger island, cracked the resulting golden coconuts, and got so many mango and banana trees for my island orchard. I love them.
Amazing video! Did you use the Generous enchantment for the Ginger Island testing? Either that or Archeologist with the Treasure Appraisal Guide for the Desert might increase the value quite a bit. Am currently playing heavily scheduled farm and managed to get level 10 in all skills during mid-Fall year 1 so might test after getting some mastery going! 🌸
That's some impressive skill grinding in the first year. I didn't try either of the enchantments, but a 50% chance to double an item with Generous might be pretty good. Let us know your results if you try it out! :)
So if you are doing Mr Qi’s crop request, treasure totem is actually the best and fast way to obtain Qi Bean. Way faster than fishing or cutting trees. Easy 23-30 beans every 5 totem on the beach.
I've combined these with BlaDe's map predictor and Mouseypound's predictors (geodes in particular) to focus for certain hard to find items. That might feel a bit like a cheat to some folks, but when you've spent multiple episodes trying to find a Nautilus Fossil the normal ways for museum completion... or a dinosaur egg for finishing the missing bundle...
100%. My sister wasted so many omnigeodes at the desert trader for artifact troves looking for that one ancient doll before I showed her the predictor.
instead of using predictor you can just open a geode in a specific order and if you don't get what you want then restart the day. but the predictor just speeds up this process and does it for you, so i don't really see it as cheating, more of a time save
I love your video but I would like to suggest that the profit is actually higher if you use the geode crusher since the coal cost of using it was removed with 1.6.
They're worth it. I just use them to turn a single spot into a field of spots. Maybe not the most efficient use... But it feels good digging up spots like that. Plus, loads of Omni Geodes for trading to the desert trader later if done on Ginger Island. And can brute force artifacts and Ginger Island artifact things. I'd say the worst ingredient is Moss. I can get about 20 Mystic Syrup a week and have a large Hardwood stock pile. Moss... is a bit harder for me, I get most of my annual moss during green rain
tysm! That's the cowgal hat. I'm pretty sure that comes from the hat mouse in the abandoned house in Cindersap Forest. Requires monoculture achievement, if I recall correctly :)
Great script and audio quality! Thanks for creating! You might want to experiment with darkening the background game footage to make the overlaid images more prominent. Just a thought 💙
Did you test it with hoe enchnated with generous or archeologist? Especially the first one should increase the proft by x1.5. Another potenitally great use is farming for Qi beans, since they are bothe common in geodes you can get from it. And a potentially great drop are warp totems which can either be used for their utility or deconstructed for some extra pocket money. (or iron in case of mountain one) pretty fun video btw.
