I used the original Batwing build, but did some tweeks to it hab and cockpit wise along with some glitch building for space saving and cosmetics... lost 9 maneuverability so 91 of 100, but gained cargo, crew count, fuel level, shield count and functionality... may have lost or gained some hull but unsure, however kept the basic overall shape... Took on the Crimson Fleet pre-joining them to test it, took a few tries (as my ship combat skills aren't the greatest, still trying to get the hang of using thrusters and repairing mid battle) but managed to wipe them out after 3 attempts... and that's way more than 3 ships.
Yep, you can always tell this guy's number one priority is being a fair and honest. Throwback to a while back when he re-uploaded and addressed his outpost guide that he didn't realize was based on someone else's. And made sure that he gave them credit
i love that when showing all the parts you had highlighted each piece so if someone wanted to they could go ahead and repeat the build just as youve done.. well done!
For me building ships is not a game in game is a GAME , after 350 hours in Starfield Im maybe after 30% of story and after boarding maybe 200 enemy ships and after building my own 30 ships im in love with that.
Ikeep seeing people say there is nothing to do in starfield...but between being a pirate stealing and selling ships, building my own ships, making an outpost or 2...bounties and missions, or checking out the miriade of derelict ships, abandoned outposts and facilities...I keep finding a bunch of stuff outside the main story and side quests. Granted the main story isnt gold, and the power system of temples gets insanely repetitive, but many of the major side quests are fun and interesting.
@@strykrpinoynot everyone wants to spend over an hour of their life just to have a ship that looks great. I love every aspect of the game including ship building but I agree with him. A way to look up a database of ship builds so we could easily pick one we like or see some we don’t see on RU-vid would be absolutely bad ass. The standard ships that you buy from vendors are ugly as fuck.
@strykrpinoy I and most other people have full time jobs mate that don't really account for spending hours building ships on a game that has other things for a player to do
In the video you use Ctrl+click to select all the parts of a section when you are assembling the ship. You can just double click one part, and all the parts connected will get selected. I think you know about the double click function, but you probably assumed it will select all the parts for the entire ship or something. But it will only select all the parts connected to the part you click on. Very handy when moving sections around.
2:06 DO NOT build using stolen ships (Ecliptic Claimore III causes the Akila City front desk missing, and Ecliptic Claimore II can cause the actual newly built ship goes disappear on the outpost's big landing pad). Lesson learned the hard way. I had to go back about 50 save games (53 to be exact) and got a few ships already built and now have to redo them again before stealing a ship. Best to build from the quest given or buy a new ship. Not stolen once. I wish they fix this bug. some of the bug I've noticed is either the ship is already newly built and then the parts, change to other ships, change back in again multiple times, then one of the parts goes missing, and the other Akila CIty ship vendor front desk table has also gone missing.
Just found the best engines for large mass but keeping mobility. Slayton Aerospace SAL-6830!!! They are only 2 max power, meaning you can have six of them. Changed my huge cargo hauler from 30 mobility to 100.
love the build system so far. but i noticed alot of ships i wanna recreate in starfield tend to be skinny and long, which is how ships normally look like. but starfield's ship builder favors flatter/wider ships so it's a bit hard to get the proportions right for mine
Nice selection, props to giving credit to those who deserved it. Love that scorpion design. I admit I am slightly biased towards that 1 bc i personally made a similar ship with the idea of lasers shooting from the tail. Overall, sick designs by these ship builders.
On the Y-wing, I'd go with the Pinch 8Z reactor as it has 1350 hull and 40 power vs the 1190 and 39 from the Fusor DC403. The 1 power is no big deal but in some of the harder fights the extra hull points are invaluable. Love the BatWing build, I'll have to go "acquire" another ship to build that. I have one build specifically for that purpose as everything else deletes them in seconds. Gotta love the Vanguard Obliterators for just shredding *everything*! Personally I'm still working back down to Class A ships for combat, Class B are my gotos as you have that nice balance of speed vs firepower and while you give up a little bit of hull with the 104DS reactor it's only 1 less power than the biggest class Cs for half the space. I wonder if I can build a Canberra or Buccaneer? Hmm...
NGL, none of these hold any allure whatsoever, and mostly seem highly inefficient..... however.... in the name of supporting creativity, I'll get in to the spirit and drop a few tips. *Almost NONE of the 'shaping' parts in the game, require a specialized shipyard, so build a base ship, the most basic thing you need build to be airworthy... or space worthy, and add NOTHING you do not ABSOLUTELY need, and then, go around to the vendors which you have to visit, and just stick parts anywhere. You can disassemble them later at your fav Starport or better, you own large landing pad at a settlement... this even includes leaving out habs of any kind... save those which you need to grab from a specific vendor. This also includes weapons. You can flee. You have Fast Travel options. There is no need for weapons, unless they are unique single vendor only weapons. The only thing you will find, is that as you progress your hodgepodge abomination through parts acquisition, is that you will have to add more landing gear.... so long as it is all level, just mix and match what is available at each progressive vendor. The most important thing here is, if the build does not use max part count, buy a few extra of EVERY custom part, save perhaps bridge, reactor, and grav drive. THEN you go to your 'base'.. and disassemble the thing, and add in parts you still need procure, then build it from there. Do NOT build it as much as you can to final form vendor one, then try to build it a bit closer, from vendor two with the additional parts, then do a bit more at vendor three, so on and so forth. This is incredibly time consuming, and if you are trying to build a puzzle in part, without all the pieces, as anyone who has ever done any kind of serious jigsaw puzzle knows, you ALWAYS find you have to go back and swap things about, and readjust and then work on a different section for while to get some idea of the big picture. This blows out the time even more, or worse, creates those little gremlins within the limits of the ship builder in this game, whereby something just is not working, or not how you want, even with blue tick so to speak, in builder, and looking like it is all A.OK.... only for you find that a hab has not connected properly where you wanted, or is not connected at all, to the rest of the ship, internally speaking, etc etc. Which then means you invariably have to stop your yard hopping, to just fix that. Buy everything custom you need, and ONLY those parts, in one fell swoop, just piling them on to each other, the only goal being for you to able to fly away to the next yard, and then taking the madness back home, and pulling it all apart, THEN beginning the actual build is going to WAY WAY faster and easier. This is even better a way than buying custom parts from vendor A, returning to your large landing site at an Outpost, deleting them, so they remain in the inventory, going to vendor B, repeating etc etc. It is entirely possible to buy all parts at once, in one loop, then only need to go home to build, once. *Turn any orphaned, internally disconnected hab modules in to part of the ship, by replacing any structural sparring used, with the special Hopetech connector habs, which function as gangways, but look structural parts. There is none for the Z axis, but there are for the X and Y, so NO habs should be purely cosmetic, unless you want them to be. *As long as there is one set of connections, connecting two points, anything else is able to be deleted without breaking the connection. So for something like the Dragon, which seems to use a lot of both Nova and Deimos spines, bumpers and wings, AND a lot of Stroud-Eklund bracing blocks, once you build the fairings over the bracings, you can delete a lot of the bracing that is NOT an anchor point for end fairings, and just have the fairings, and it still be an airworthy ship, if you want to add performance, as well as make yourself as little harder to hit. Just some tricks I learnt spending hours a day building ships since release. I really SHOULD play the ACTUAL game more... but I feel like this counts as my ship building addiction paying off :P :P
Extra HABS don't matter. I have a ship with just ONE 1x1 hab and a Viking Cockpit, and it has a Crew of 5. The only Hab that expands your crew capacity is the command center. The living quarters are useless because you can WAIT on any chairs .The armories, infirmaries, as equally useless. The workshop is useful so you can craft inside your ship. Otherwise, Habs a re a waste.
Bro tell us what the “strong armaments” are please! We need more detail in these ship build videos in general from the creator community. There’s plenty of content out there for giving us vague ideas of what ship builds could look like, we’re covered up on that. I think you’ll definitely get even better results out of these videos since there’s a sizable hole in this section of the “market”. It’s honestly hard to leave any feedback beyond the cosmetics, which were impressive btw. Covering the details like where parts are found, what internals and weapons you’re sporting, and so on are just not covered very much and this is the information users want more than anything. If you can deliver that stuff and it’s still within a reasonably short at to the point presentation which you’re really skilled at, I think you’re going to be blown away at the success your channel finds in it. I literally only play starfield now to build ships, I've done NG+ to 11 already lol My favorite non-mod ship is as close an approximation I can get to a Hiigaran Frigate from Homeworld. I've been working for about 10 hours on a Battlecruiser, but its modded and using multiple class M reactors.
I'm hoping that when CK comes out. Hopefully, I can build more rounded and more to a point in shapes. Plus they'll start porting ships into the game. Hopefully something you can break down. Some of the best I've seen in a while. Cool video bro
I can see where you can get 2x additional habs without changing much on that Y-Wing. Swap the Shroud braces for Hopetech cross braces and the two botttom half of the wings for Taiyo 2x1 bottom habs.
So annoying they didn't put a mechanism in ship building that you could force block/open only certain doorway/ladder connections to also get the internal layout you want to match the time spent getting the exterior layout you want.
@LtBuzzLitebeer Thanks for introducing me to Punch Deck with your intro song! Pretty good stuff! Is there a personal connection to them, or just something you found?
Awesome video. Does the trick where you delete ships at your outpost landing pad to store parts have any limits? I’m collecting ships faster than I expected. If I could just fly them to my outpost and dismantle them for parts, I could continue collecting ships. I’m not sure if it makes more sense to just sell them outright or dismantle and store parts?
Was curious, how do you go to different yards to finish the ship? If its not complete it wont let me save what I already have built or do I have to cheese it and put parts on that suck, then go to the next yard, then replace the stuff?
Great video. One very important point you mention at 11:52 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jFL3gNaaJhw.htmlsi=jKS6yW5PkaQ2IZE2&t=712 where you saw you can delete items and they will remain at your outpost. Is that how that mechanic works? That is, you can delete ship parts at your outpost shipyard to essentially stockpile those parts there? I find that even though I have Piloting 4 and Ship Building 4, and I am level 70+, my Outpost large landing bay seems to have very few ship parts to choose. Is there a way within the vanilla game to unlock more parts for shipbuilding at your own Outpost? Is the only technique the one you have a passing reference to, namely that you can store parts ther by buying them elsewhere and deleting them at your Outpost? Please note I have not seen a reference to this subtle mechanic anywhere else.
It took me forever to figure out that trying to modify your ship is hard . But just building one is actually quite easy . I now have a ship that I actually want , I couldn't find a single one that I can buy that I actually wanted to own . I can walk directly into my ship , and use stairs . Not a ladder , to reach my cockpit . I can't wait for mods to make it even better . Hopefully a free camera movement mod is one of the first . And I'm definitely not a fan of the dialogue cameras . Like I want to stare into the face of some ugly NPC the whole time a conversation is happening . I should be able to look at whatever I want whenever I want . If that means staring at the beautiful character I created . Instead of the ugly NPC that Bethesda created . Or otherwise , I want choices not Limitations .
I don't quite understand getting "Error Ship Exceeded length or height" when I'm replacing habs or the such that are the same length or height. I would LOVE to see someone try to build a ship that looks like the flying stone head in the film Zardoz.
Yes. Certain pieces seem to be exclusive to the different manufacturers. A trick is to go to the yards, buy the pieces and frankenbuild the ship to save it. Once you have all the pieces added to your donor ship, go to your landing pad with ship builder and delete the entire ship. This will dump those specialty pieces into your landing pad ship builders inventory for use as you build it up from scratch.
Man, too bad an all missile build isn't really viable with the cooldowns. That last build, the scorpion one, looks a lot like a Rattlesnake from Eve Online. (yes they named a scorpion shaped ship aftera snake...don't ask me). I saw someone make a Rifter from Eve that was pretty badass looking too. Nice vid, man. Thanks.
Here I am wondering just how much of the Razor leaf could be used for the Batwing so that it maintains its special quirks with pirates being afraid of it.
could you give us a clear view of you shenron ship? The colors are way better than in the original, but video has no scene that is suitable for a screenshot
Am I the only a-hole that got hyper-focused while ship building zoomed in, and accidentally made a Batwing (or some other pop culture banger)? Done it like 3 times now 😅😅
lol I hate how when trying to look up ship building ideas the results are exclusively "I made a ship look like this other pop culture reference or weird animal LOLZ"... Still waiting for the wave of immersive, well thought out, and original ship designs to start happening.
why did you delete the star eagle ship🤔🤔🤔? that was a very bad choice of you to do🤨🤨🤨 its one of the best early game ships you can get and one of the best in game i think🤔🤔🤔
