There's a tooltip that mentions that ships longer than 80m can't land on planets. To me, this implies that feature was planned at some point in development.

I was just telling my friend this is what starfield needs. Massive star destroyer ship to stay in orbit and a smaller ship to go onto the planet and maybe a little speed bike that you load on the back of your smaller planet ship so traversing the land is quicker and way cooler. Could’ve even make it so the bike has some storage on it and can upstage that too

But it will be like NMS. Frigates, freighters, starships. Submarine, Meca and ground vehicles.... all of that. I like starfield for the ship customizations though. But Bethesda did say that this is not a space SIM... sometime I wish NMS had this customizations feature. But who am I to complain. Both games are unique in its own.

I was really looking forward to having a suite of ships, each designed for a niche purpose/role. I do love ship building and will continue with my builds out of pure enjoyment, but the storage issues we have in the game, not raw resources (Aluminum, Iron, etc.), but where to store all the crafting items we gather (nero wire, sealant, pressure tape, etc.) in a way that they are directly accessible to our crafting stations on our outposts is a real issue atm. For now my fix is to have a big-ass hauler with 5k storage. But I thought I would have to give up a lot of fun in space battles. I was mistaken. : ) I made a little video of some hauler fun (Starfield Hauler final). It begins with a beer. Of course.

I've seen a VERY good rendition of the Serenity in another showcase video, so yeah, there's some out there. And yeah, the SR-71 was a high-speed, high-altitude recon plane, and wasn't actually a fighter, as much as people assume it was.

13:35 not 100% sure but that looks like the Dagger. A unique ship you can obtain from Jaffa IV at the Vultures Nest. Obviously you can rebuild anything from the builder. But grabbing a free prebuilt is cheaper.

The dagger is a slightly modified frontier. You can also find UC versions at civilian outposts

I called my build: "the veil breaker" its mainly a deimos build but with some nova galactica radiators and pieces, 4 in total, it has 4 particle autoturrets in the tails, all pointing to the back in case you are flanked by enemy ships, 2 particle turrets on each side of the ship, each pointing left or right respectively, and two of the strongest particle turret on the front for a total of 124 damage for back turrets, 48 damage on both left and right side of the ship and an astonishing total of 200+ dps in the front of the ship with just 2 particle autoturrets! shields are at 1600, cargo cap: 3600, max speed: 150, movility: 90+ reactor: class c with 40 energy points, hull: 1000+... the point of using this ship is to divert power from the engines to the shield and weapons while in combat to enter fortress mode... this ship is capable of wipping out all the ships in "the key" on very hard dificulty by itself, you can configure its power output to make it a fast and agile battleship or a slow but heavily armed fortress with no blindspots, with this ship, apartments and fortresses become redundant since it can fire on all directions at the same time, being specially dangerous to any ship that decides to attack it up front or from the back, and it has a really cool look

The SR-71, is not a stealth fighter, it's not even a stealth plane, It's a High-Altitude Reconnaisance Plane :) But it's definetly one of the most beautiful "modern" airplanes (It was built in 1966, and has been retired since 1999)

Buzz, if you haven't seen firefly, it's a must. There is only a single season and a movie to conclude it (movie is the name of the firefly in the show. Not naming it in hopes it inspires you to check the show out. Trust me, it is an experience you will not regret. Brown coat for life.

The black widow, the magical school bus and the huge massive ship that was overflowing into akila city are my top 3. I'd love to build them myself. Wish they made a way for players to share this type of thing in the game. Also a way to save the builds so we don't have to go through those builds all over again, tryn to remember how we did it etc, on new characters or NG+ characters.

Oh, I've converted my Razorleaf to replicate a model from the Lodge too. Had to wait till I've leveled up a bit so that engines showed up at ship vendors.

I've been able to rename any ship I've acquired. Go into the flight check, select the rename option, enter the new name, confirm and and close. I've never had one revert to its original name. Some really nice builds on display here.

Lucky you. Most pirate ships I capture do it, so I used the Frontier for shipbuilding figuring 'hey, the default ship should be safe, right'? Reverted to base Frontier 40 hours of playtime and 500k invested in it.

@@gork8468 I've come to the conclusion that some people are hitting some bugs that others don't. I've seen videos of glitches that I have not experienced in my 300 hours of playing. Mind you, I've had some minor issues myself, that I haven't seen reported in videos. I wonder how much it has to do with the hardware different people use.

I cant wait for them to release the inevitable M class DLC so we can make actually coty sized ships. I hope they eventually let us make M class motherships that can send a normal ship down to the surface.

I get pretty creative with my builds but I have a hang up that I can’t make my self add useless or redundant habs, excess mass to bulk the ship out. And don’t even get me started on the ladder maze within. I also don’t use mods to increase the allotted size or break the game algorithm for allowed engines.
