I had dysnc issues with Starfield after preloading on Steam last night. I think my gaming laptop may only have internal HDD storage. Would an external SSD like the Crucial X8 be good enough to run Starfield? Thanks.

Yup! Should still be solid. It truly all seems to be SSD vs HDD difference. The one I use and showed in the video is Walmart ONN. 500gb 2000+ read speed. So anything above that should suffice. Just move the game using Steam Storage settings.

I'm having the same issues on a SSD NVME honestly beyond annoying reinstalled the game multiple different times on multiple different SSDs all with the same audio lag long loading times absolutely makes no sense😥

I use SSD and just got this bug starting the game. Personally I’m suspecting it’s save bloat.

Starfield PC Fix History: Ryzen 5 3600 CPU RX580 8GB GPU 500w PSU 16GB RAM Game on HDD (Audio Lag, Crash every 30min, 4min Loadscreens, Lag/Freezes) Ryzen 5 3600 CPU RX580 8GB GPU 500w PSU 16GB RAM Game on SSD (Sometimes Lag, Med Graphics, crashes once every 3hrs, 5-10 second loadscreens) Ryzen 7 5700x CPU Nvidia RTX 3060 12GB GPU 600w PSU 32GB RAM Game on SSD (Ultra Graphics 0 Problems, 2-6 second loadscreens) $600+ estimated upgrade Extra Tip cause I know times are hard. Klarna + Amazon = $100+ estimated every two weeks if you don't wanna dish it out at once. Not financial advice or an ad, just an option. Graphics Tip: All shadows = low, extra fps, no visible difference.

Bah… My basic specs: Win 11 Pro 7900x B650E 64GB RAM RX 6950 XT Gen 4 nvme (5000+ r/w) Spent 6+ hours trying every “fix” out there after 23 minutes of actual gameplay. Still get nothing but crashes can’t even start or continue a game. Bethesda needs to get their $h!t together.

@@GourmGames the real irony is in the mean time I’ve gotten to play on my little z390 9900k with an arc a770 le (100% unsupported gpu) with no crashes at all 1440p med settings ~58 fps avg

Not super familiar with console. Either gotta wait for a first patch or put it on an external memory that's SSD. (If your internal is HDD or slow SSD)

After the removal and the console restart if i start the game, it appears again at the quick resume.

@@velenceigabor1418 it will automatically go back on quick resume when you reopen starfield, but the original removal from quick resume should act as a hard restart

@@TheNikolius thanks, i was wondering about the same since it made the game a bit more playable, however it still lags, at least after a decade on consoles i can finally experience lag.:))))
