Just made this ship and want to give some helpful advice for anyone following in my foot steps. Biggest thing I learned in this process is that you can't buy all the parts and hang on to them; parts can only be bought and placed on a ship that can fly without flagging the flight check. To work around this, I sacrificed my Star Eagle and played Tetris by removing parts I didn't need and placing parts I would. Placement of the landing gear on the bottom front felt too close to the bay, turns out OP didn't mention he bought a shielded cargo to offset it, which is wicked smart. All in all, through trial and error, took about 3 hours to make and ~90k credits with the commerce perk level 1 and a better B class reactor. I also haven't bought weapons systems and saved the shield and drive from the OG build. Am I still gonna rock it without weapons until I can afford em? Yeah. Whatever happens, happens.
@@chatsubo_dude Dude, thank YOU for making and posting such a great build of one of the most iconic ships in anime. It's now my favorite ship in my collection :)
I wish there was an option to have smaller ships in this game. Every ship is pretty massive with living quarters and stuff. Let us have a larger ship that can dock smaller ones.
Remember that building a landing pad with a shipyard at an outpost (which is pretty cheap on materials) allows you to build with the widest selection of parts! Every manufacturer except for their specialty parts (habs 2+ wide and big bridges). It’s awesome for making the general build and trying out different parts, and then you can get the big special parts at the specific staryards if you need them
I don’t know if I’m missing something or if I’m doing something wrong but I have a landing pad with a shipyard at my outpost and I don’t seem to have access to the needed parts for this build.
You forgot each wing has a pair of Machine guns that would fit on top and bottom for a total of 4 and as far as missiles go, you can never use them because they're too expensive(Bebop rules not mine) lol nice build though How fast is it and how could you squeeze out more speed
haha my "no skills" build has machine guns in the correct place, but I opted to double down on particle beams to RP the devastator-class plasma cannon I do like the idea of having a missile economy (survival mode mod perhaps?) Remove the cargo underneath the fuel tanks and that'll get you 98 mobility
What is the best shipyard in your opinion to try and start this build? I started my playthrough and was trying to ship building and I realized that I can't just buy the parts and keep it in my inventory from different vendors you have to build a functioning ship in order to get the parts. Awesome video btw any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance if you do see this.
Probably the spaceport on Jemison, you can get the weapon mount, nose, and wings there if I'm not mistaken. You could also build an outpost with a landing pad and find most of the parts.
Edit: Bro, I spend the entire evening on building this as my first own ship and it looks so gorgeous! I can´t thank you enough. Yo this feature alone was worth the 100 Euros I spend on this game, so siiick ^^
I'm glad you like it! It's cool that others enjoy what I put out ^^ I've spent way too much time in the ship builder as well. At this point it's a starship designer sim
i did this around lvl 20, unfortunately the game doesn't tell me which parts were/are level locked - I'll start including player level in future videos
Sorry this is probably a really stupid question, how exactly do I buy the parts if they're at different locations? When I try to purchase parts it makes me equip them but a lot of them don't fit because of compatibility.
One thing you can do is build an outpost and landing pad. This will give you access to all non-unique parts. But if outposts don't interest you, like me, then substitute a cheap part or find a way to connect them while you travel between stations.
