If there was a petition to make Nathan Evans a recruitable crew member for your ships in Starfield and sing is Space Shanty’s, I’d sign away to make it happen!
I really hope Bethesda allows Nathan Evans to extend these after the fact. Especially I miss my dear darling and new Atlantis. That is a genuinely beautiful shanty, and I feel like it would actually last.
Nathan Evans and Starfield Developers, thank you for this. This adds to the emotion of traveling the stars like old days of traveling the seas. I'm always happy to see The Valentine when I grav jump into the system to break silence with a sea shanty. Please do more or have radio option.❤
I love coming across him too, and I always tell him his singing made my day bc his reaction is the most wholesome thing, Bethesda did great by adding this
Yeah it would be cool, maybe even a whole side quest where you could give more credits maybe even meet him, heck imagine if there were more songs that were only downloaded if you completed the quest.
His ship is one of the best in the game, I’m sure he doesn’t need them lmao Edit: you’re better off spending your credits helping the people in The Well.
The only things that disappoint me with the Valentine is that they (like all encounters) never recognize you as their wandering fan, and that there are only three!
I can find so many of the first track but none of the other 2, and the second seems like the best track to remix. Damn, do i need to learn how to do a thing and do it myself? Where's the musically talenteds people with this like the was with the Dragonborn comes for Skyrim?
I just came across him and wondered if was more. These kinda got me emotional. Something about them resonates deeply; unexpectedly. I did in fact told him it made my day, how could it not? I'm a musician, I'm going to do something with these.
I was on Kreet doing the Constellation Survey where I found a Research Tower PoI. I turn a corner in the facility and came across one of the researchers standing by herself singing "Out in the Blackness (sp?)". When she saw me she turned and said "Sorry, didn't see you there" and stops singing. Don't know why but I love little details like this in Starfield. After 400+ hours I'm still finding little things like this here and there.
If you all are interested in the tune, songs 2 and 3 sound extremely close to "The Chemical Worker's Song" and "Row Me Bully Boys" respectively (to the point that they probably just added new lyrics to the old tunes). The first one probably uses the tune of another labour song/shanty as well, but I can't figure it out by ear.
I really wasn't expecting such good shantys let alone any exploring tye cosmos. Hopefully the next elder scrolls games has this kind of quality to the bards singing in whatever province the pit us in.
What if there is story and we are hearing them in the wrong order if you listen to them as 231 it tells a story of a man who was bad, fell in love and changed his ways
I love coming across the Valentine. Not for the music though. It was cool the first couple of times but I soon found the secret of the Valentine. You get some decent loot if you blast the ship to pieces. 🤪
I wanted the ship, so this nice man is presumably dead. Obviously I feel terrible. I didn't kill him in the last universe, but this ship was definitely worth it.
