These mods (Darkstar astrodynamics and manufacturing) add greatly to the end game experience. It does this by expanding the weapon and space suit tiers. Also, it expands the crafting as well. #starfield #gaming #bethesda #mods #xbox

Hey, thanks for the video. This was awesome. Couple notes: - This was filmed with an older version of the mod. You may want to update. I saw several things that have been changed/updated/fixed. - The Mark 1 backpack had a bug for the quality, and was fixed, for example. - The NEXT version of Manufacturing (v2.1.0) will include a VIP mode for those who wish to skip the research. - Because of that intro of the VIP mode, I also added Umbral Assault Suit/Helmet as a reward for those who go through the effort.

These two mods make the game that i already love SO MUCH BETTER, especially for high level characters. I would absolutely pay for it. And if I could only have two mods, it would be the DarkStar mods.

This looks great. The way he includes documentation is an indication of attention to detail and quality. I am not at the end game yet. Piddling around. But I had already come to your conclusion that I need to wait for this. You can't really benefit until you have maxed skill points in the engineering and crafting areas. But for those of us who like to tinker.... Thanks for the review.

He is awesome, and does have an option to provide support for those who can :) I have been following him and his creations for some time now, as well as catching as many of his live streams that I can, he has brought a lot of awesome content for the game and should definitely be followed and supported.

When you were struggling to get your nose on the enemy ship, you were at max thrust. If you slow down to the middle of your speed range you turn a lot faster.

Top tip if you're chasing a ship round in circles & can't lock on to shoot it... Get off the throttles completely, (burn those retros) slow right down & your turn rate will increase significantly, then back on the throttles to close in, it's basically doing a handbrake turn in space & a trick used by fighter pilots since WW2

I assume you're playing on PC so I don't know what the button is for you, but on Xbox holding the right bumper cuts engines for a quick turn and letting off returns normal thrust. You do need a point in piloting to do it though.

@@Simplyputme I'm also on Xbox. I prefer the 'hit the anchors mode' not the thrusters button which seems less effective than a full retro burn, plus it also enables the ability to do a front/back flip to shoot an enemy ship in its ass after it flies past, which is always fun

Huh, Interesting! I'm not a fan of LONG craft menus but I am a fan of the mod asking for a lot of materials. I also like that the same math that is already integrated in the game. But I can see why they didn't charge anything for this mod... Bethesda needs to update Superior Weapons and more armor into the game, and hopefully will in the future. Would be a bad feeling if you bought this, and then Bethesda made it redundant. Atleast the modder got their name out there for their next big project!

It this it was BGS's intent to expand the tiers of items. I think they were just saving it for DLC, modders just beat them to it.

I installed the Astrodynamics part of this mod at lvl90 (NG+10) and have been grinding through to max the suit. I would have happily paid for this mod, given the life it has breathed back into the game, as we wait for the DLC. I'll be installing the manufacturing mod soon too, I did see in the notes that the high level weapons will also spawn in the world, so you can find yourself on the wrong end of them, making POI's interesting again. PS: not sure if you were aware, but at 24:00 where you were talking about ship banking, you can just use your thrusters and the ship will spin on a dime, the speed does drop off, but you can boost to catch that up.

1:50 - Regarding crafting weapons. 1) So at level 1, if I find the materials, I can craft any weapon using the Darkstar Weapon crafting workbench? 2) Will the Darkstar Weapon crafting workbench check for skill and research requirements? If I want the Novablast Disruptor at Level 1, I can craft it if I have the materials and have put skill points in Weapon Engineering skill and completed the Internal Mods 1 research.

The crafting system does block you if you don't have the needed research but I also think the author put level requirements in as well. I could be wrong though. I haven't tested trying to craft guns I shouldn't have at low levels.

@@Starfield_Eclipse I see. It will be an interesting to find out. If all weapons are available at low levels, that would change the balance. Ofcourse one can choose not to craft them. But it can also offer convenience for players who want to start with one weapon and will use that weapon throughout the playthrough.

A good chunk of my mods are ship-related and this is a really good one. The shipbuilder landing pad has benefitted me greatly while I work on my outposts and all the boards/workbenches are on it

The one thing about crafting in games that drives me nuts is all the convoluted requirements and " work " needed to do things, dammit I work all day at my job in real life and the last thing I want to do is have to do everything involved with crafting while I'm trying to relax and enjoy my game. Just let me craft what I want without the heavy lifting involved. I want a game that is enjoyable, not a second job.

@@Starfield_Eclipse i haven't played ESO at all, but i have found the ESO OST in youtube videos, and i love the soundtrack, i showed it to my sister who creates this kind of music and she was impressed that such amazing music came from a game, and i told her this is pretty standard in video games nowadays, she had no idea, eventually she was given a contract to do some music for one of the final Fantasy games, it was a short bit but she loved it. i think in some ways she's a bit behind in the times and doesn't understand the gaming space is raising like no other industry has and the potential music pool is far larger than it's ever been in history. another great music composer i personally love goes by the name of Thomas Bergeson, AKA two steps from hell.

I liked the game when it came out & now love the possibilties of it. I barely scratched the surface of DS manufacturing ...it looks like a true work of art def worth money( & i'll def be supporting this guy when i can)

Quick question: I downloaded previous version on my starborn character and everything worked great! I updated and changed my load order and the floor to the lodge disappeared. I then used the mods on a new character and the workbenches are not there….

I believe that there is a conflict with any mod that modifies the lodge. R.L.Parker - Gaming has a video on it, he is the author of mod. If I recall correctly removing the conflict mod would resolve the issue, if moving darkstar to the bottom of the load order didn't.

What planet is that where you build your outpost? that's a very nice view and landscape, you know I downloaded this mod but that was when my game was crashing a lot and I had to disable heavy mods and this was one, now thaT MY game is more stable am considering re enable it

This is exactly down the path of what vanilla lacks, you get powers cool gear and ship then forced to NG+ to have nothing to show for it. Having starborn Betty Howser is the way!

I don't believe they can charge for mods even if they wanted to. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to make money off of someone else's intellectual property. Let's just be happy Bethesda lets people actually fix their horrible games wity great mods

in my opinion i feel bethesda has this payed mods thing all wrong, they are too focused on how much money they could make potentially off of each mod, what they should instead focus on is the idea of allowing all mods in that system to work more on a subscription basis, the free mods would still exist, but there would be a limit, now i understand they will never go back to the idea of free mods, but if it was done via a subscription level tier's they could potentially give players access to all the mods on an unlimited basis, basically so long as the user pays for the subscription they have access to all the mods within that perspective tier subscription of mods. i would say there are at least 3 levels of subscription, 1st tier is the lowest cost, then a 2nd tier mid cost, then the 3rd tier is the highest cost, but they aren't crazy high prices, the highest tier is lets say only $9 a month the mid tier is maybe $6 a month and the 1st tier is $3 a month. each allows the user to only download in their tier level, however the 3rd tier allows all downloads unlimited, where the first 2 tiers are capped based on how many mods in that level they can use, and the free mods is also capped, their goal is to offer the best higher tier to the consumer as that's the best value, but offer these other tier's because people like to have choices and it also gives them a chance to dip their toes in the whole system so they get a better idea and the price isn't too high that people would be angry at this system, the free mods section is for modders to practice their skill and to gain a following in a ranking system to work their way up to creating mods that are eligible to show up in the payed mods subscription system. the reason for this ranking system is so they can get themselves a reputation within the modding community and so they can establish a trust with the users and with bethesda in order to make it to the verified modding scene so they can make mods that could potentially make it into that higher level. now mods will no longer be sold at a fixed price, instead it's based on the tier level their mod is categorized within and they get a percentage per download, the higher tier mods will offer more money to the modder, and bethesda still takes their cut. the whole reason for this idea is to incentivize this payed mods system in a way that doesn't piss everyone off, everyone gets their fair share the consumers don't need to pay out the ass per mod and the system continues to work for all parties involved, this makes it so modding isn't this horror show that it is now and it's more accepting and easy for people to want to get interested in using. the way it's set up now isn't very open for most people, some might be willing to pay 8 bucks a pop per mod, but most simply won't engage in that system because it's too expensive and not very fair, and technically bethesda would make more money this way, because more users would be far more open to using this system than not using it, as i said before, the system they are using now only gets a small percentage of people paying into that system because there are only so many people willing to use that system at all and there aren't many incentives to use the system so people aren't really feeling like it's worth their money and they pretty much go without in most cases. with a system like this, bethesda could make far more money as well as the modders in question because it invites more people who are willing to pay these subscription rates instead of on a per mod basis system.

@@Starfield_Eclipse in my opinion that's necessary because so many of them are not structured right, like a dude is trying to get a single armor mod for 4 bucks, that's nuts when someone else provides a DLC sized mod with voice acting quests locations houses followers and armors and weapons for only 4 more dollars, that's just bad pricing and never makes sense, this is why i suggest the subscription idea as it factors all this pricing nonsense into a easier to work with package. granted the modders won't get as big of a cut, but they could get potentially higher pool of people playing their mods which means more subs and potential cut out of that deal.

@@user-tp5yb4hr4w agreed a lot of the pricing has been chaotic. Some paid mods have free mods that do the same function. I have been selective in my approach as to which ones I do get but I would like a more structured approach to it. Maybe that's a subscription system or something else but it's definitely not the current system. Hopefully, we get to a point where pricing is reasonable and all parties are being fairly compensated for their work.

@@Starfield_Eclipse yeah bethesda are trying to run this store like steam runs their store, it's a totally diffrent animal, yes they provide the server for the mods in this system and that costs money, but i highly doubt it will cost that much per month as i have chat with people who pay for servers who use far more data because their sites use video data which is often far larger space used and the server costs get higher the more of that space is used, but also i understand bethesda will be maintaining these links to these mods and the payment systems. anyway i came up with this subscription idea because the Nexus modding site uses a kind of similar format, but they don't charge for the mods, they pretty much charge for the service alone and it's a far better deal than even what i'm suggesting than what bethesda is offering, because their system will allow the user to have unlimited access to hundreds of thousands of created mods per month for only 3 bucks a month, the service is uncapped downloads speeds unlimited access to mods and support for the mods and carefully crafted load order data which means it loads everything for the player so they don't have to worry about mod conflicts or load orders that could present issues in the playthroughs and countless bugfixes and performance fixes to keep the game build stable for the user. i highly doubt bethesda will offer something like this to the users as it's a very complicated process to implement especially for consoles, but they could at the very least offer what i talked about for the subscription tiers in their system because it's pretty straight forward and basic, but it potentially works better than the current system they are using now.

@@user-tp5yb4hr4w I feel like I should make a video on load orders. A lot of Xbox players do get confused by it and you make a great point there is no support for the Xbox user who is having issues. Honestly I wouldn't mind a 10 dollar a month subscription for creations, I pay more for Netflix and can't remember the last time I watched it.
